TOY GROUP

LKA 2025

Firstly, I wish to thank the committee for this special appointment at such a prestigious show. Thank you also to the breed judges for sending forward top quality representatives of the breeds for me to judge.

For my shortlist, I selected the Affenpinscher, Australian Silky Terrier, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, English Toy Terrier, Havanese, Lowchen, Papillon & Pug, all of which would have been worthy of a placing in this group.

For my winner, I chose the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Ch Ellemich American Express. This boy was on top form today, from the minute he walked into the ring, flowing round the ring with such ease & noble carriage. His head is beautiful, with large dark eyes enticing you in & long ears framing the picture. His outline is superb, with correct bone & body. He holds himself so well at all times with a wonderful topline & tail carriage. Presented to perfection, he fought off top competition. Delighted to see him going on to win RBIS under Tom Mather.

In second place was the Papillon, Ch Gleniren Miracle Starmaker. Full of attitude, this girl came to put on a show. She has the most breathtaking head, with large, well furnished ears completing the picture. Excellent neck carriage & overall balance, completed with her high set tail. Ideal body under her silky coat. Moved out with great attitude. Pressed hard for top honours.

Group 3 went to the Affenpinscher, Ch Sugarlane Gibbonback. Such a smart looking dog. Domed skull, blunt muzzle & prominent chin, giving that mischievous expression. Compact & sturdy body with level topline. Harsh, shaggy coat complete the picture. Carries himself so well with typical strutting action.

Group 4 was the Havanese, Bailemos Miss Curvaceous. Quality head & expression with large, dark almond eye. Her outline is magnificent, with high set tail & profuse coat. She is fantastic on the move & a pleasure to watch going round the ring. At only 11 months old, she held her own & I am sure this girl has a bright future.
