Three Counties Agricultural Society Championship Dog Show
7 June 2025
Tibetan Terriers
Judge Steven J Green
I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of Three Counties Agricultural Society for the invitation to judge their kind hospitality on the day, also to my two stewards for their assistance. Thank you also to the exhibitors for the wonderful entry of 96 exhibits making 116 entries, the second highest in the Group and one of the largest so far this year. I approached this judging appointment as I always do fully aware that every exhibitor pays the same fee, and spends their time preparing their dogs and travelling a distance to the show, and so I see it is my duty that I give each exhibit the same amount of time, attention, and consideration when assessing them, I hope this was the case. The exhibitors had already set up around the ring inside the new building, and as the heavens opened up later in the day it was a good move on their part, it was a good size ring with lots of light and was ideal to assess movement in.
It’s now 24 years since I started judging the breed at this level, having now been in the breed for over 40 years. Over this time I have observed how the breed has both preserved and also changed, I fear that the breed is not a particularly good place with many of the dogs lacking basic breed requirements, heads for many are either narrow and snipey or coarse and more akin to a Bearded Collie, and these two extremes are then reflected in many of the dogs structure, being slab sided and fine boned or stocky and hefty. I am looking for a natural dog that can stand to give the correct outline and without back legs being pulled out like a rocking horse. The breed standard TELLS us that movement should be assessed (and therefore rewarded) when walking or trotting smooth and effortless, so I am looking for an easy and efficient movement which is sound, whilst exhibitors can always choose how they show their own dogs, if a judge is to judge to the Standard they should not be rewarding dogs being run around the ring at speed. I found a number of exhibits that had too much product on/in their coat to the extent that I had to wash my hands twice as they were covered in sticky residue. On reflection the bitches had a better depth of quality with decision on placings being extremely close, and in some classes those being Res or VHC of such merit that on another day being higher up in the cards. When it came to the Bitch CC challenge there were 6 class winners I could been happily awarded a CC to and also know that the TT that came second to them could also be considered for the Res CC.
I would like to thank the exhibitors for the good grace they accepted my decisions. It was a pleasant surprise to later hear that my two CC winners both gained their titles today , one under the traditional route and one under the new agreement, I am sure they will both be adding many more CCs in the future. Congratulation to the BOB on also wining Group 2, she held her own after a long day in very competitive company.
Minor Puppy Dog (2, 0)
1st Harrisons, Boshay Bootiful Momo, 8 month White and Black , this raw youngster has lots to like about him and has plenty of time to develop further, pleasing head of nice proportions with a good occipital point and width of skull, correct dentition , nice length of neck in to good shoulders and a clean front, depth of chest ok for age but will expect it drop a litter further with maturity, well angulated rear with nice turn of stifle, well set on and carried tail which completed his outline both standing and on the move.
2nd James-Collins & Collins, Remmus under My Spell, 7 Month old black and White, he was certainly a challenge for his handler today, but the joy of a naughty TT puppy is knowing they will have the best chance of enjoying their showing career. He has a pleasing head and pigmentation, and good dentition, enough neck and nice lay of shoulder, overall a good amount of bone but for me need a tad more weigh overall but this should be achieved with maturity, Ok depth and spring of rib, with a balanced rear, and moved with enthusiasm which certainly kept his handler on his toes.
I will watch both these dogs progress with interest.
Puppy Dog (2,0)
1st Pettit’s Rogspa's Got Yer Back, 10 month old Black and White, Pleasant head proportions, with enough strength, correct dentition and good pigmentation, decent length of neck and shoulders, nice front with pleasing pasterns , which balance nicely with his hind quarters. Nice depth of chest and spring of rib, his top line was ok both standing still and on the move, had a good reach and covered the ground well. Coat of nice texture completed the overall picture.
2nd Forrester’s Boshanti Satchmo, Tri Colour 11 Months old, still very much a baby and was not always co operating with his handler, however he had an attractive expression with a nice head, lovely dentition and a real look of mischievousness in his eye, front assemble and neck are good but for me I would like a little more toned. Well set on tail and rear was suitably angulated, he moved with enthusiasm but needs to settle down a little to help him make the best of himself, but he has plenty of time to do this.
Junior Dog (4,0)
1st Barron’s Araki Shadow Storm, 13 Month old tricolour. Was a clear winner in this class, he has many virtues and displays what typifies the correct characteristics of the breed. Good head carriage as a result of a good length of neck, with a lovely front and well shaped feet. He has a good pair of shoulders and depth of chest and strength of bone, well muscled and angulated rear end that showed in his movement. You can see he has a strong personality and was showing himself off admirably his handler working well with him to show his virtues.
2nd Plank’s Waterley Code Breaker, Black with white 15 months old, he has a nice head with very good pigmentation and pleasing zygomatic arch and well carried ears. Neck ok length and shoulders. 3rd Tonge’s Araki Santana for Aonachmor
Post Graduate Dog (9,2),
A really good but challenging class with some very close decisions
1st Andrew’s - Lasang The Midus Touch, Gold Sable and White, strong for overall type with a very beautiful masculine head but not overdone, good width of jaw and strong dentition, when you get your hands on him they flow over him finding just what you need to have a first class neck and front, the required rib and chest to ensure there is plenty of lung room is balanced with the short loin to give the desired top line not only standing but also on the move, his well angulated and muscled rear meant he moved with full efficiency. Nice textured coat completed the picture.

Well assembled front with clean straight legs, correct depth of chest and nicely ribbed up, and level back. Correctly set on tail completed the overall balance I was looking for, and it was held well when he used the well angulated and muscled rear legs to cover the ground.
3rd Thorlod’s Zilcan Legend of Gelert with Lottanber
Limit Dog (8,2)
1st Cooper & Purslow’s Ahgainst All Odds, Black mature who headed up this very nice class. He has such appeal from his masculine text book head and beautiful expression, strong occipital point. He carries himself with full confidence lovely neck in to first rate shoulders, very good depth of chest with plenty of lung room. Well muscled and powerful body ensured the front and his rear when moving dictated his smooth effortless efficient path across the ring. Presented in A1 condition and serious contender for the CC and the Res CC.
2nd Rudderham’s Dejaru Masquerade JW, Black mature male, he has a charming head which is well proportioned, with excellent pigmentation. Lovely length of neck into a well laid pair of shoulders, overall has good bone and is presented in good muscled condition. He holds himself well on the move with a pleasing reach in front and drive behind, tip top presentation he is a very worthy example of the breed.
3rd Thurston’s Jalren Midnight Runner JW
Open Dog (7,1)
This was a challenging class but extremely enjoyable one to judge, there were a number of dogs I really admire but on the day found they had lost either condition or coat on this occasion.
1st Hadlow’s Snoanda Doing This My Way at Quidditch JW This truly is a superb example of the breed, he has all the qualities I was hoping to find. He has great outline showing all is balance and in proportion. Beautiful masculine head with great expression and pigmentation. First rate neck and shoulders, with the desired length and depth of chest, strong short loin that ensured that when he moved his well angulated rear moved with total ease and efficiency. Most glorious presented coat or correct texture that did not hide his shape but enhanced it. Full of confidence he is a very worthy Tibetan Terrier and in the line up I could not deny him the CC, was pleased to hear afterwards it was his Third CC and so his crown.
2nd Cooper’s Ch Araki Justa Boot Perfect, Black, another classic example of the breed and a very worthy ambassador, showing just what it required in a fully mature specimen of the breed, much of which I have written about the class winner applies to this dog too. Not only is he a great dog to look at but it is also when you get your hand on him you can fully appreciate his construction. Extremely well presented and handled, it was a close decision , and that is why I had no hesitation in awarding him the Res CC
3rd Moore’s Silgarhi Sonam
Veteran Dog (4,1)
1st Guziolek’s Ch Boshanti Nevill, Gold Sable and White 8 year old, A quality example of the breed that proves that even in a class for most other breeds you would take into consideration the exhibits age, however with a Tibetan Terrier it proves they are a slow maturing breed and will easily still be at their best in such an age class. Charming head and expression with very good pigmentation, pleasing overall strength of bone and muscle tone, and is of the correct proportions, moved with a fluid easy movement.
2nd Inwood & Price’s Lasang Mister Dick at Bedivere, this 7 year old has all the energy and spirit to still be in a puppy class and although his beautiful coat and overall construction show how perfectly balanced he is. Quality proportioned head with a really lovely expression, correct angles fore and aft and moves with total efficiency, presented in beautiful coat and condition.
3rd Whites’s Araki Fabulous Figtal at Trytez
Minor Puppy Bitch (7,0)
A class of most promising young ladies, it was pleasing to see there were also some reverse scissor bites in the mix
1st Marley & Thirlwell’s Myrlea Belgravia, 7 month old black youngster. For me ideal for type a really lovely feminine head but still with enough substance to ensure the desired expression, lovely dark eyes and good pigmentation. A good neck flowed into a nicely lay of shoulder, with a decent amount of chest to have the desired lung capacity, already has a well held top line and a well muscled rear. Her tail at times has a will of its own, it carried well on the move and eventually behaved itself to complete the picture.
2nd Guziolek’s Boshanti Ulissa, Black and white, 8 months old, another charming youngster with a good balance to her head and correct dentition and strength of pigment, ok shoulders and front assembly, moved well, at times she seemed had a little hesitance with the floor surface but showed enough to achieve her placement.
3rd Harrison’s Boshay Pupkin Spice
Puppy Bitch (5,0)
1st Andrew’s Lasang Caramel Crisp, 10 month old Tri Colour, this is a most promising puppy with so many qualities already, super balanced head and expression, very nice dentition and pigmentation. Well formed front assembly with very nice lay of shoulder, correct spring of rib and short loin. Strong muscled rear with particularly well developed thigh. Stands square but still has the desired reach in her movement. Lovely set on tail that she hold tight, presented in a very good coat for age. I will watch her progress with interest. Best Puppy in Breed.
2nd Luckman’s Pinrow Glowing Sunset, another very nice puppy, although she currently lack a little in consistent confidence to make the most of herself there is a great deal to like about her. Very nice head of correct strength and proportion and with very good pigmentation. Nice neck and shoulders with enough depth of chest for the standard. Nice rear angulation with good low set hocks. A quality coat of a good texture for her age, I am sure she will continue to develop along the same right lines.
3rd Armstrong’s Araki Lovestruck Lulu at Tizzycharm
Junior Bitch (4,0)
1st Plummer & Plummer & Knight & Bingham’s Araki Colour My World for Tetsikarma, JW, Gold sable and White, 15 Months old feminine bitch but still with enough substance to give the overall sturdy appearance required for the breed. Very nice balance head with correct proportions and excellent pigmentation. Good head carriage and length of neck into well laid shoulders, good ratio of rib cage to loin, with a well angulated rear in strong muscled condition. Very easy efficient mover holding her shape at all times. Should have a very bright future.
2nd Johnson & Johnson Morris & Morris Incalux Shyne A Light On Nefertari Black with White 13 month old. A very stylish youngster, most pleasing of heads with excellent dentition and size and shape of eye she has a real look of mischief about her, with a well shaped skull and ears completes the picture. Strong neck and correctly angled shoulders, good drop of chest with a well built front assembly. To be picky I would prefer a little more mass on her frame as she is a little on the raw side, however it is not uncommon and has plenty of time on her side to mature at the correct pace for the breed. Correct rear angulation and length of leg. It’s in her movement that she shows just how well she is constructed and moved with both power and ease. Beautiful coat expertly presented. My comment in my preamble about the bitch awards would have applied to her as well.
3rd Cherry’s Lynces Dance into the Light
Novice Bitch (6,1)
1st Johnson & Johnson Morris & Morris Incalux Shyne A Light On Nefertari, 2nd in Junior

Expertly handle to get the most from her on the move.
3rd Armstrong’s Araki Lovestruck Lulu at Tizzycharm
Graduate Bitch (9, 1)
This was really one of the strongest classes of the day; the decisions between placings based on some very minor points and are all capable of being given higher awards.
1st Moore’s Silgarhi Bhotiya, Black with a touch of white. To head up such a strong class takes a very special exhibit and she certainly is. She has the most beautiful silhouette and is of classical breed type, with the most beautiful balanced head strong yet feminine with a strong optical point attractive dark eyes and excellent pigmentation combines to give a strong resolute expression which just challenges you to dare to over look her. Textbook length of neck and well laid shoulders, clean front with good bone. Ideal round flat feet. Very good depth and length of rib with a short strong loin. Perfect rear angulation and tail set on high and carried, to give typical moon on their back balance. Really showed her ability on the move which she drove around the ring with total ease and efficiency, she really covers the ground and all at the Correct pace for the breed. Super coat or correct texture and presented like a new pin. This is one that I could easily taken home on the day and in the line-up she really stood out and was very very close for the CC. I was happy to award the res CC and I am sure she will challenge the best in the future and will gain her title with ease.
2nd Armstrong & Cherry’s Araki Fantasy Funtime at Tizzycharm JW, White and gold sable. Top class specimen, has charming head and expression very good pigmentation and good dentition and a strong determined look. Pleasing neck and shoulder with a strong true front assembly. Strong yet feminine head of good balance with great pigment. Ideal length of neck into first rate shoulders, clean straight front. Strong compact body with plenty of lung room. Can move with the best of them. Lovely coat very well presented.
3rd Erskine-Jones & Guy’s Unohoo Magical Maddie
Limit Bitch (12,0)
The depth of quality in this class gives one some hope for the future of the breed.
1st Marley & Thirlwell’s Myrlea Just An Illusion JW, Gold Sable. In the scheme of things this is still a relevantly young bitch, however what she has already developed into demanded my attention when she first moved around the ring. She reminded me of many of my favourite TTs in the last 40 years. She has a beautiful head of great balance and with a strong resolute look, text book front assembly, ideal amount of chest and spring of rib, lovely top line and amount of loin, and with the high set on tail it continued her outline to here balanced rear angulation without any exaggeration, she stand study and solid. Ideal large round flat feet. Quality coat of great texture completed the package. She had such and ease of movement completely without effort and at the correct speed for the breed. In a very strong line up I was delighted to award her the CC. I very pleased to hear afterwards that although it was her second CC it garnered her right due to previous Res CC awards to claim her title, I am certain that many more CCs will follow. In the challenge her appeal meant she was the BOB and she really did the breed proud in the Group where the judge awarded her Group 2.
2nd Meegan’s Avaness Anything Can Happen, Black with white. Another quality exhibit and such a lovely one to go over. First rate head with lots of typical breed charm, most pleasing length of neck and lay of shoulder with a true front. Correct depth of chest with plenty of rib and proportion of loin means she has a lovely top line. Well angulated rear in good muscle, proved most effective on the move giving her enough drive but not exaggerated. Presented to perfection, a very worthy TT.
3rd Stuchbury’s Avaness Lights Up Kutula
Open Bitch (4,1)
1st Willoughby’s Palshar All That Glitters, Black and white (tri?). One who I have admired from the ringside and was not disappointed in any way on having this opportunity to assess her. She gives you that almost intimidating look with such a typical Tibetan arrogance. Quality shaped head of good balance with excellent pigmentation. good length of neck into ideal shoulders, true front assembly with good bone. Well built torso with ideal amount of rib. Very well set on tail carried to full advantage. Strong well muscled rear with the correct amount of angulation, she moves with total fluidity and ease. A very worthy ambassador for the breed.
2nd Marley & Thirlwell’s Ch Myrlea Martha Reeves, Black with a touch of white. A fully mature specimen of the breed with great appeal. She has an all the right qualities you should want to find in the breed from her model head proportions and expression to her sturdy construction which is not overdone in anyway and shows the feminine traits you want to have. Particularly good rear angulation which shows as she covers the ground with significant drive but total control. Coat of glorious quality and presented in excellent condition, another great representative of the breed.
3rd Knight’s Snoanda Morgan Le Fay
Veteran Bitch (7,1)
1st Bateman’s Snoanda Wizadora, Black. I really fell for this TT, and was so pleased to see that although she was in veteran that true TTs of correct type and construction, should not be defined by age as the breed is and should be a slow maturing one and can hold their own at any age. Built on Classic lines she has everything you could want, excellent head of the desired shape and balance full of expression. Good neck and flow into lovely shoulders. Correct front assembly in perfect balance with her hindquarters. Good body with plenty of room for lung and heart with a perfect level croup and correct tail set. In good overall muscle form, she moved with such style and total effortless ease. She was a very strong contender in the final line up. Best Veteran.
2nd Vernall’s Renvall Kiss My Aspidistra, Tri colour. Another top draw specimen of the breed showing age is just a number when it comes to TTs. Most appealing head with lovely balance and pigmentation. stands firmly and proud with a lovely front, plenty of chest and strong top line, with a particularly well set on and carried tail. Strong well muscled rear with very good angulation, another one who shows how well she can move around the ring. Very well presented and turned out completed the picture.
3rd Gilbert’s Gandaki Rock N'roll
