BLACKPOOL CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY 22ND JUNE 2025 – SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS

Thanks very much to the committee of Blackpool and the exhibitor for giving me a quality entry, I really enjoyed my day judging and despite some really difficult decisions, I was absolutely delighted with my main winners. Presentation was very good, however, I feel that we need to keep an eye on fronts.

MINOR PUPPY DOG

1st Fisher’s Shellamoyed Winter Blues - Sweet blue merle puppy with an appealing head and expression, nicely made dog, well-constructed and moved well. Good length of tail. Lovely colour. Presented to perfection. Promising Puppy, will watch his career with interest.

2nd Hughes Shadowess If I Can Dream - Another promising puppy, this sable and white has a lovely eye and expression, very well made and showed to advantage. Really liked his overall shape and moved with drive. Unlucky to meet first.

2nd Gamble’s Balidorn Olympic Star With Solyric - Sadly, this sable and white youngster was rather unsettled on the day. However, I liked his head and expression, used his ears to his advantage, moved well, however would have been more positive on the move if more settled.

1st Dillon’s Lundecocks Tempest In A Pot At Runforrest (IMP SWE) - Classic head on this glorious Sable and White dog, I loved his and expression, handled to advantage and used his ears well, presented a nice overall shape and moved well. Just needs time to develop in chest and body. None the less he still moved well, however he excelled for overall breed type, and once mature will trouble the best.

2nd Rossiter’s Cocaro The Highlander - Lot’S to like about this shaded sable and white youngster. Has a lovely head and expression, gave his best for his handler, good front, level topline, however, would prefer a bit more length in body. Very well presented.

3rd Gartland’s Arcot Polished Black

1st Dillon’s Lundecocks Tempest In A Pot At Runforrest (IMP SWE)

2nd Dr. Hill’s Moving on Up To Molson - S/W Rangier shapely dog, had an appealing head and expression, however was rather unsettled today, and just needs time to mature and grow into his body. If settle would have challenged for the class.

1st Stafford’s Rannerdale Mister Majic - S/W This boy stood out as soon as he entered the ring. With the glorious expression, well placed eye, good head proportions, every time I looked as this dog, his ears came up and he showed himself, really good front, correct topline and really moving with drive from the rear. Combine this with an exquisite breed type, presenting the complete package. With both sweetness of expression and excellent construction allowing him to cover maximum ground with minimum effort. Every time he was asked to perform he stepped up and could not be denied the CC and BOB.

2nd Barrowclough’s Shadowess Jubilee Prince - Another nice sable and white dog. Absolutely beautiful head and expression. Presented to advantage, Handler got the best of him on the move and showed well.

1st Sutherland’s Shelcrest Winter Solstice At Suthesley JW - This shaded sable and white dog really needs to be handled to be appreciated, loved his head and expression ,very well made and put together with correct angulation front and back. And as a result moved very well. Presented and handled to advantage and he was very much in the mix for to honours.

2nd Smee’s Wansvale Amiable - This is another shaded sable with the most beautiful head and expression, neat ears which he used well, very well presented and handled to advantage, in good coat and condition. Unlucky to meet one.

3rd Glover-Guest’s Doonelodge The Explorer

1st Dr Hill’s Molson Milkybar Kid (Re Imp) - Lovely head and expression on this sable and white. Excelled in overall head properties however could do with more of a tip on his ears, to complete the picture. Excellent shape and construction, moved well and covered the ground with ease. Wouldn’t want him any bigger. Pushed really hard for top honours, however had to settle for the RCC

2nd Stafford’s CH Rannerdale Showmaster JW - Gorgeous head and expression and he was another dog from this kennel that excelled in breed type liked his overall shape presented to absolute perfection. Handled to advantage. Worthy champion and unlucky to meet one.

3rd Walker’s CH/INT/FR/LUX/SWISS/CH Tooralie Pie In The Sky

1st STAFFORD’S RANNERDALE SUGARPUFF - Such a sweet feminine expression on this sable and white bitch. Absolutely stunning head and expression. When settled moved so well. Excelled overall breed type. Very well constructed dog with a good front for age, moved and showed well.

2nd Barrowclough’s Shadowess Moonlight Blue - Rather promising B/M bitch. Alert and attentive to handler good head and expression. Such a lovely colour and shape excelled in front movement and showed well, very little between these 2 promising quality pups.

1st Barrowclough’s Shadowess Enchanted Dream - This puppy tri bitch shows promise liked her heads and expression excellent construction and shape good front and moved well. Jet black coat well presented liked her a lot. Should have fun with this quality bitch

2nd Sapsford’s Shelcrest Bright Star - Sable and white bitch nice shape and very feminine expression, well-presented and handled to advantage

1st Stafford’s Rannerdale Coco Pop - Top quality sable and white bitch who just excelled in breed type with the most lovely expression. Incredibly sweet and famines. When settled really showed off her beautiful shape and construction and moved with such ease not a lot wrong with this exquisite puppy. Best Puppy

2nd Walker’s Tooriliee Viking Queen - Lovely shape on this tri bitch. With a nice head good front jet black coat, showed and presented to advantage. Was well made another promising youngster.

3rd Walker’s Willowthorne Roulette JW

1ST Pearsons’s Edglonian Apricot Lil - Shaded sable and white youngster, loved her expression however I felt her main attribute was her elegant shape very well angulated front and back, moved very well, and handled to absolute perfection. This quality bitch just needs time to body up and mature. Then would no doubt challenge the best of them. So much to like about this bitch.

2nd Bladon’s Kiemont What a cracker - Sable and white bitch, showed well for the handler, liked her front, moved well and presented well.

POST GRAD BITCH

1st Gartland’s Arcot Take a Moment JW - As soon as she came into the ring caught the eye with her overall make and expression, sable and white bitch lovely head, used her ears well very elegant, on the body was well constructed from both front and back with good topline and long tail. Moved with drive and purpose covered the ground well and excelled in overall type, such a quality bitch could not be denied the RCC

2nd Rowan’s Rowancrest Cinderella - Very sweet feminine bitch lovely head and expression, moved and showed well appreciated her type just needs more time and finish to complete the picture.

3rd Rossiter’s Molson More About Me At Cocaro

1st Dr Hill’s Molson Mine Till Midnight - S/W Quality bitch loved her head and expression, however ears set and carriage could be better, very elegant and well-constructed really good on the move, presented and showed to advantage.

2nd Hayhurst’s Keycharm Sweet Candy - Another quality sable and white bitch with feminine head and expression. Appealed for overall make and shape. Very well constructed, covered ground with ease pushed very hard for this class.

3rd Smee’s Wansvale Beyond Belief

1ST Raaff’s Molson Miss Congeniality For Stormraven - This sable and white bitch really caught my eye when she came into the ring, I appreciated her shape and elegance. Such a sweet head and expression with a really nice eye and ultra feminine. Good reach of neck going into good shoulder and front quarters moved with real drive and well-shaped and angulated rear covered the ground so well just oozes quality could not be denied the Bitch cc and later told was made in to champion (subject to the RKC confirmation) absolutely quality bitch, who thoroughly deserve her title.

2nd Rowan’s Sonymer Illusive Gold At Rowancreast - Very sweet and feminine sable and white bitch. Really well made and moved and presented to absolute advantage however lacked the finish to compete for top honours. None the less could really appreciate the virtues of this quality bitch.

3rd Dr Hill’s Molson Its Molvern

Very shapely tri bitch, liked her head and expression, used her ears well, jet black coat which was presented well lovely topline well-made however on the move this bitch really excels ,so much to like and admire about this bitch BV.
