YORKSHIRE TERRIERS

Thank you for the invitation to judge at the show. The hospitality was second to none.

A huge thank you to my 2 Stewards who went above and beyond to make the ring run smoothly, and to the exhibitors for a lovely entry.

On the whole the quality of the dogs was high and I had to split hairs on several occasions. Teeth on the whole were clean but not all. 

Veteran Dog 3 - 1 abs

1. Pirkova’s Int CH Guess Dark Luna Beautifully presented boy with a very attractive head and full face furnishings. Colours good for his age. Very sound to go over and it showed in his movement. Good reach of neck. Level topline on the table and on the move. Drove well from the rear. Good shoulder placement BV

2. Bystrianska’s The Lion King Stribrne Prani Another lovely exhibit shown in excellent condition. Lovely head and expression. Good earset and stop. Sound all round. Lovely boy to go over. Not much to choose between 1 and 2. Moved well but preferred the movement of 1

Puppy Dog 2

 1. Damasauske’s Strumers Confiture Royaljoy Promising little dog shown in excellent condition and beautifully presented. Lovely colours for age. Very attractive head and sparkling dark eye. Kept his level topline on the move. Moved with confidence BP

2. Mackay, Keenan and Mackay’s Denkens Nick Nack Paddy Wack Another lovely puppy with confidence. Good earset and nice reach of neck. Sound to go over and it showed in his movement. 

Junior Dog 2

1. Szabo’s X-Mas Joy of Eve’s Amulet Immaculately presented boy. Tans clearing nicely. Dark blue silky body coat. Pretty head with lovely dark pigmentation. Lovely reach of neck and good shoulder placement. Sound throughout. Moved and showed well.

2. Thom’s Shawhills I’m On Fire. Colours clearing nicely and good blue body coat of lovely silky texture. Very attractive head. Lovely movement showing his soundness. It was good to see his unrestricted movement on a loose lead 

Post Graduate Dog 8 - 3 abs

1. Pirkova’s Heart Stealer of Maryon’s Home Jch I loved the shape and confirmation of this boy. Lovely silky body coat of steel blue with tans clearing well. Good reach of neck and level topline which he kept on the move. Very sound rear end and good shoulder placement. Lovely all round 

2. Taylor’s Bierlin Rupert Bear Smaller than 1. Beautiful compact little dog shown in gleaming condition. Sound throughout. Very attractive head with sparkling eyes and good pigmentation. Moved soundly keeping his topline level at all times.

3. Bendikiene’s Denim Soul Diamond via Catalleya

Limit Dog 4

 1. Bystrianska’s Love T’look Stribrne Prani Loved the movement on this boy both coming and going. On the move his topline was level at all times. Good mouth. Beautiful head. Glowing 3 shaded tans with a wealth of correct coloured body coat. Sound as a pound throughout.

2. Parvin’s Stand by me of Eve’s Amulet & Trayshellin Close decision between 1 and 2. Lovely sound dog with beautiful tans and correct colour body coat. Excellent condition. Sound throughout. lovely front action and good rear movement. Moved and showed well. Very attractive head. 1 & 2 could change places on another day

3. Sharp-Dixon & Reyes Queenslake Ring Of Gold

Open Dog 10 - 4 abs

1. Lukesova’s Int/Multi Ch Endless Bliss Hartford Srb Jch Winner of a class of tremendous quality. This boy didn’t put a foot wrong. Beautiful 3 shaded tans and a wealth of steel blue body coat. Lovely shoulder placement and great turn of stifle which showed in the soundest of movement. Shown in excellent condition Perfect topline both on the table and on the move. Very attractive head with sparkling eyes and good pigmentation. Dog CC

2. Ballesteros’ Esp/Prt/Gib/Int/Ib Ch Sweet Dreams De Las Arenas Unicas Smaller than 1. Another fabulous mover. Perfectly presented dog of top quality. Lovely head with flowing face furnishings and alert expression. Lovely pigmentation. Shown in lovely condition. Lovely reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Lovely rear angulation. Flowed round the ring. In this class the quality was so high that all placements could change position on a different day. Res Dog CC

3. Bystrianska’s Ew Ch Zircon Stribrne Prani

Veteran Bitch 3 - 2 abs

 1. Kay’s Auchenrowan Classy Chassis Cheeky girl who was enjoying her day. Darker tans and dark blue body colour. Smaller bitch with a pretty head and dark sparkling eyes. Did not let her owner down on the day. 

Puppy Bitch 2

 1. Boot, Boot & Fitzgerald’s Jankeri Prudence at Jumara A very promising puppy with the prettiest head. Dark sparkling eyes, Lovely ear set Good reach of neck and good level topline. Very sound all round. Correct front and rear end. Moved OK. A tad nervous on the table but I managed to assess her. I later learned she had been rough handled at a show. Such a shame. I’m sure the handler will build her confidence and she goes on to fulfil the promise she shows.

2. Foster & Foster’s Jankeri Beatrice Another lovely promising puppy with a hopeful future. Good mouth, pretty head with lovely pigmentation. Very sound and moved well with a lovely topline. Colour and texture good  

Junior Bitch 10 - 4abs

 1. Niespodzinska’s Adel Sheila Charm This girl won her large class on movement. She took off with confidence and style showing a clean pair of heels. Pretty head with attractive eyes and good stop. Tans clearing nicely body coat good colour and texture. Sound rear action and good shoulder angulation. Moved with a level topline. All in all a lovely youngster with a promising future.

2. Radvanszky’s Joyful Life of New Deal Another one to look out for in the future. Tans clearing well and lovely blue body coat. Pretty head with lovely pigmentation. Coat of correct silky texture. Sound throughout and a joy to go over. Moved and showed well. 

3. Szabo’s You’re The One of Eve’s Amulet 

Post Graduate Bitch 17 - 2 abs

 1. Taraszkiewicz & Taraszkiewicz’s Hermiona Granger Contenders Pulled this bitch out as winner in a large class of quality bitches. Darker tansLovely mouth. Pretty head. Good ear set. Darkest of pigment. Beautiful silky coat groomed to perfection. Good sound rear action, well place shoulders and a level topline. Flowed round the ring. 

2. Campbell’s Stemarie Solitaire Star Another bitch I really liked. Pretty head with attractive sparkling eyes. Good pigmentation. Lovely 3 shaded tan and shining silky blue body coat. Stood square on her box and a delight to go over on the table. Sound throughout and moved with drive. 

3. Niespodzinska’s Adel Sheila Charm

Limit Bitch 9

 1. Aneiros’ Soriena Fading Lights A dainty young bitch of a lovely size who stood out in this strong class. Beautiful smooth silky blue body coat groomed to perfection. Lovely bitch to go over. Couldn’t fault her. She flowed round the ring and didn’t put a foot wrong. Not sure what happened when it came to the challenge but another day another show.

Open Bitch 15 - 1 abs

 1. Amien’s Esp/Por Ch Estugo Amien Never Enough. This outstanding little bitch took my eye immediately. Dainty. Pretty. Lovely size, Sound throughout, and moved like a dream. Silkiest of coats and groomed to perfection. I could not fault her. You know you’ve found your final winner when you get goosebumps on your arms. Bitch CC, & BOB. I was delighted to see her pulled out in the group. 

2. Roberts’ Shawhills Paws For Thought Very similar to the class winner. Outstanding quality little bitch. Adorable head with great ear set and lovely pigmentation. Sparkling eyes. Went round the ring with style showing a clean pair of heels. I liked everything about her. Res Bitch CC
