PORTUGUESE WATER DOG
BOURNEMOUTH CANINE ASSOCIATION CH. SHOW

9th August 2025

Such a shame to see the entries of this beautiful breed diminishing year on year. That said I was pleased with the quality of the dogs entered today.

The rings were a little small for a championship show and the dry weather meant dead grass that was quite slippery and difficult for the dogs to get good purchase and although there was a breeze a couple of dogs were lethargic on the move.

1st Hopkins & Gottdenker’s Claircreek Sea Voyager (Can Imp). Just 12month with a good curly coat. I liked this youngster for outline and size. Broad skull with dark eyes & well placed ears, good depth and breadth to muzzle. Broad muscular front with good spring of rib and well made forequarters. Short loin to a muscular, well angled rear with good tail set and carriage. Moved true with good drive. RDCC

1st Williams & Newton’s G Ch Rarjo Captain Curl Macduff JW. 2yrs, another with a good curly coat, super outline and size. Lovely head with broad skull and dark eyes, slight taper to his muzzle which is of good depth and breadth. Super forequarters with good forechest, deep ribs, well sprung and back to a short loin. Correct tailset and carriage. Muscular, well angled rear with good width of ham. Moved with straight front & good drive. DCC and just took my eye in the challenge for BOB

SBD/B (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st Richings’s Marguerite Barqueiro Amora. 2yr B of good size, feminine all through, pleasing head of good shape and breadth with dark hazel eyes. Front assembly well made with chest reaching elbow. She did tend to straighten behind on the stand which causes her to rise over the rear and spoil her topline. Moderate rear angles, moved ok but a little sluggish. BSpB and she sorted herself out later to with Special Beginner Group 2.

1st Kirk’s Adventurer's All The Nights Like This Of Belezaflor (Imp Fin). Oh my! What a very promising 8mth puppy. Carrying a lovely loose puppy coat, she is a picture on the stand and on the move. Feminine head of good breadth for her age, super dark brown eyes. Good length of neck into super forequarters with some forechest. Deep ribs of good spring, short loin and a well angled rear. True steady mover, one to watch. BP.

1st Bradley & Gottdenker’s Claircreek Audacious Angelica (imp Can). 13mth curly coated of correct size and shape. Pleasing head with good breadth to muzzle and skull which are of equal length, lovely dark eyes. Good lay of shoulder and enough return of upper arm but I would like more forechest. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs through to a short loin and a moderately angled, well muscled rear. Correct tail set and carriage. A true steady mover but a little lethargic today.

LB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st Biss’ Ankors Aria. A larger framed, 2yr old but of good shape. Feminine head of good shape with dark eyes. Short neck into well laid shoulders with straight well boned front. Deep chest ribbed back to a short loin. Moderate rear angles. Steady mover.

Two super specimens

True and clean all round with correct drive. BCC & BOS

2nd Kirk’s Ch Belleville Crazy In Love Of Belezaflor JW. Another top quality 3yr old, just a touch longer through the body than 1st. Correctly proportioned, feminine head with dark eyes.
