Three Counties Agricultural Society

Breed: Fox Terrier (Smooth)

Breed Results: Fox Terrier (Smooth) (Day 1)

My thanks to the society, the exhibitors and handlers and my lovely stewards Trish and Bill.

General observations on the entry today – this breed is my first love, and all exhibits were new to me which was a definite plus. Size and balance varied greatly and the beautiful cat like feet were virtually non-existent. I will personally forgive size on overall soundness, but some were top end.

1ST 1117 - Kanix Stafford (ai) (Mrs K S & Miss L Wilberg & Bradley Jenkins) appealing for size and overall breed type, he still requires time to fully develop in body but has a good straight front, reachy neck and well laid shoulder. Excellent head and well-set ears, good set on. He was not moving as well behind today tending to be quite wide going away which then in profile was not showing as a free flowing read drive.

1ST 1102 - Yoxella Weeks Notice (J M Griffiths) a compact B/w dog of 2 years who is of good size and decent bone. Dark eyes, strong head, good ears set and used well. He has a quality hard coat and moved accurately especially good in rear action, would have liked a little more neck.

389. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Open Dog

Entries: 4 Absentees: 1 All worthy exhibits who will change places.

1ST 1115 - Umberto Tozzi Du Manoir Saint Adrien (Mrs J & Mrs M & Mr R & Mr D I Thornton & Breton & Bebbington & Anderson-Watt) 17m B/w and of lovely type. Commanded the ring, so alert and on his toes. His head is divine with dark eye, beautiful expression, neat ears, The straightest of fronts with well angulated rear. He carries his elegantly arched neck with an air of importance, his tail is absolutely bang on top and he is so ultra short, but covering the ground. Coat and presentation was perfection as you would expect from this kennel. DCC and BOB which he took from a beautiful bitch on the overall appearance of being a little stallion.

2ND 1114 - Wilhelm One Vd Schonen Bergen [atc Bc90678deu] (Mr F W Schoneberg) B/W. Not quite the shape or head of first but definitely a worthy dog. Still pleasijng in size and outline. Good neck and shoulder, very good rear and lovely muscle. Straight front and good bone and feet. Well ribbed. Level topline. Moved well, just preferred the expression of 1. RCC

1ST 1100 - Bisquit Vd Bismarckquelle (Mrs J & Miss J Dolman) T/W well presented in good body. Coat in good condition but a little soft today. Overall a nice bitch, a little longer in loin than I prefer. Her head is feminine but not weak, with good length and proportion. Correct set on and tail carriage, used her neck well on the move keeping level topline, well ribbed and muscled. BP.

392. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Junior Bitch

1ST 1105 - Belfox Ximi (Imp Bel) (Mrs M, Mr J & Ms K Hughes, Osborne & Mckenna) keen head and expression and markings that make you take that second look. Really small ears that are bang on top of her head. Good strong dentition. Well presented and sympathetically handled, I liked her bone and substance, stands on good feet. Topline and tail carriage are good. She will make up.

1ST 1104 - Borovale Jazzmin (Mr J & Miss E Hannar) a little star! T/W of quality. Overall type and balance of how a decent smooth bitch should be in my opinion. Ultra smart with a most pleasing head and eye, neat ears and a lovely expression. She used her ears all the time to show this off. Excellent neck and shoulders which I preferred over 2nd. Presents a lovely clean outline. Well boned with good legs and feet. Impressed on the move especially in profile. Really hard decision for BOB, he just edged her out on being ‘all male’ however please to not let that detract as it was a split decision and I think she is beautiful, So pleased to hear this was her crowing CC – there are many more to come for her.

2ND 1103 - Yoxella Whole Lotta Rosie (J M Griffiths) a heavier marked B/W bitch, not quite the feminine head of first. She is a lovely size and again well presented and schooled from this handler. Good bone and decent enough lay of shoulder. Good bone and feet. Her level topline ifs finished with good tail set and carriage. Would have liked a bit more neck.

3RD 1112 - Lunafox Gentle Touch (Mr N & Mrs C Rogers)

395. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Open Bitch

1ST 1116 - Ch Kanix Rosemarie (Mrs K S Wilberg) A fine and lighter boned bitch. Overall has a good shape and balance, reachy, arched neck, short backed and moves out well. She has good depth to chest and was better behind the tail than 2nd. I would just like more of her in bone and substance. RCC.

2ND 1098 - Zetamaz Drama Queen (Mr A J & Mrs M Brookes) White bitch of quality. Better for overall substance than first. Head is very typical with good dark eye. Would like a better ear carriage to enhance expression. Very typical clean straight front. Well ribbed. Short enough but was not matching first in topline today. These two will change places as they are different so was not an easy choice in the class today.

396. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Veteran Bitch

1ST 1113 - Only You Du Manoir Saint Adrien at Lunafox (Imp Fra) (Mr N & Mrs C Rogers) At 7 years this bitch perhaps was lacking a bit of the oomph from her youth today. Decent head with pleasing expression, would prefer a little more strength through jaw. Good set on, well ribbed, slight rise over loin, excellent muscle moved if a little tight at elbow. BV.
