It was indeed an honour and a great privilege to be invited to judge the breed I have loved and been involved with for over 40 years, at Crufts in 2021. However, Covid descended causing 2021 Crufts to be rescheduled to July, which date was then also cancelled, so my appointment has been almost 8 years in its arrival.
Thank you to all the exhibitors from both UK and overseas for giving me a lovely entry. My thanks also goes to my steward, Paul Hayes, for organising the ring and me so efficiently.
My overall observations since I last judged were that shoulders have improved, length of rib with short loin is still lacking. Stops could still be better and sadly I found not many true reverse scissor bites or my favourite end ‘kink’ to tail. Coats on the whole have improved in texture and condition, although to the floor is not a good look for a TT.
