CRUFTS 2025
COLLIES ROUGH (DOGS)
My sincere thanks must go to the K.C. For inviting me to judge at Crufts it was a privilege and honour to judge what I like to call my breed, the Rough Collie at this most prestigious show.
Many thanks to my two excellent stewards who kept the ring running smoothly which allowed me to concentrate on the job in hand.
I would also like to thank all the exhibitors, some of which had travelled many miles.
I found all exhibits in clean and well groomed condition. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and had the privilege of going over some lovely dogs. My thanks to all.

1st. Veyrunes. Usual Suspects of River Tweed. This heavily coated S/W did not make it easy for his handler, he's constantly on the go, but when he did settle down, on handling, I found a very well balanced head, flat skull, good level planes, obliquely set eyes, good length of neck & length of back with rise over loin, good length of tail. He is happiest when on the move, which he does well.
2nd. Felix. Unyck Gold Du Clos De Sea-Wind. In contrast to 1st. This S/W is a real show boy & much the same can be said about his head properties. Difference being , he would benefit with a little more underjaw. He carries more bone than 1st. But is slightly shorter in back. Never the less , he still moves well.
3rd. Howard/Newton/Patterson. Ladnar Dream Chaser.
4th. Llewellyn. Avonfair Spellbound with Salsina.
5th. Brodie. Shanaburn Country Road.

1st. Turner. Paulara No Where Man. Good size jet black tri with rich tan markings in full coat. This boy certainly came dressed for the job today, not a hair out of place. His head has a well rounded muzzle with good underjaw, flat skull & well placed dark almond shaped eye of correct size all topped off with well placed neat ears which he never stopped using giving him the most soft appealing expression. Lovely neck into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, well sprung ribs, nice length of back with rise over loin, well set tail of ample length carried well, good turn of stifle, short hocks and neat feet. Standing in profile he looks the complete package, moved freely around the ring. CC.
2nd. Grainger. Ch. Samhaven Ballahanna Banjo. I have seen this dog from the ringside many times, today I was pleased to have the chance to go over him, as I expected, his presentation was spot on. Clean balanced head, nice eye & good ear carriage, ample neck, nicely angulated forequarters, good length of back, short hocks, moves effortlessly.
3rd. Blake. Corydon Christopher.
