Thank you to the committee and to the exhibitors for a truly wonderful day. The entry was amazing, and the overall quality of the dogs was excellent. I was so pleased with my main, and class, winners and places. A couple of points I would like to raise which gave me concern. Heads – the glory of the breed: I found some short muzzles, high domed skulls, and low set ears. This is a moderate breed and should have no exaggerated features, but when you see the ghost of a Japanese Chin or even a Charlie, then you know that the head is very wrong. Bites were generally much better than I have noticed before, although there were some too undershot and the occasional level bite. The other main thing I noticed was some untypical fronts, without the correct angulation, giving a lack of forward reach and, therefore, too much lift in front. Presentation was excellent and the temperaments were absolutely lovely.
With two shows running at the same time, I got to judge the bitches first.
BITCHES
Special Vintage Bitch (4,1):
1. Steed. Ch Gianni Itspandora. At 11yo, this young lady is giving age no leeway. Her lovely parti-colour coat covered a super frame. Her head was a delight, everything in moderation and providing a beautiful expression. She presented a balanced outline and moved out so soundly. Best Special Vintage in Show.
2. Ross. Caselden Bella Rose A sturdy lass of 10yo. Very pretty in head and of lovely overall balance. Another one that was so sound on the move.
3. Cooper. Ch Dedicated to Sensational White Susu (imp NLD)

She is beautiful in outline and super on the move. Her head, neck, topline; bone and feet – all correct. Her lovely jacket was well presented. And when she moved, she was just lovely. RBCC.

DOGS:
Special Vintage Dog (1):
1. Wallis Baga. Ch Velrok Serafire at Amcross. 11yo who was full of himself today. Beautiful coat covering good frame and firm muscle tone. Had the most lovely hare feet. Moved out well.
Veteran Dog (8,2):
1. Steed. Ch Gianni Its Gollant. 8yo beautiful cream sable male with super coat, and lovely furnishings. Handsome head, with good muzzle and chin. His looks can deceive, as first impressions lead with the glamour, but when you get your hands on him he has the moderate frame and angulation the standard calls for. Nothing overdone, all is balance and a pleasure to look at. His fitness and muscle tone show through in his free and positive movement. On the day I could find nothing to beat him, and he was a deserving DCC winner and eventual BIS/BSpVeteran. Checking back after the show, I see that this is the second time I have highly awarded this male.

2. Asquith. Never Say Goodbye Lucy’s Secret of Baarnayotms. Apologies, but I do not appear to have notes on this male. The class winner had been critiqued in a previous class and it is possible this dog left the class at the same time and I did not pick it up.
