Good evening 

Please see attached critique.

My sincere thanks for my invitation to judge at your club Championship show. Having an interest in the breed for many years it was indeed an honour.

Thank-you to my able steward Alyssa who had a much valued role. To my exhibitors who entered their lovely dogs on the Friday following the day of SKC gundog day which was very kind of you.

After a long wait we finally managed to get into our allocated ring.

 When looking at a Weimaraner I feel that you should be able to see the features of the skull at first approach. The breed standard states moderately long, aristocratic. 

I found some broad skulls which did not give this appearance. A couple of exhibits had short ears which again gives the head an unbalance.

There were a few with flat feet and elbows out.

I was delighted with my class and overall winners whom fitted the standard well.  

There were delightful youngsters whom I'm certain will provide the breed with good progeny in the future.

1ST 23 - Gunalt Wingman (Miss C R & Mrs A Longbottom) well shaped Puppy with substance and bone. Pleasing body and muscletone. Stands well on good bone. In good coat. Head is balanced with good eye set. Moved out well to take this class of quality pups.

2ND 13 - Gunalt The Morning After (Mr G & Mrs R Charlish) close between these two. Just thought winner a little more together at this stage. Stands well and moved out well

He has good breed type and showed well. Well placed eye set in a pleasing skull. Neck flows into good body. Has balance and shows good quarters. 

2ND 18 - Sireva Mayhem (Mrs G & Mr S Guthrie) liked this young boy and was close up to winner. Head correct. Good forequarters and depth to body. In good coat and colour.

1ST 42 - Braefell Blackthorn JW (Mr M A & Miss D L Sayer & Wallwork) although stood alone he stood out so well. He has so much presence. When stood he has correct proportion and length. Feet and toes correct. His head is a joy to handle. Correct mouth

 Good length to ears. Strength throught out neck and body . Well developed rear quarters. On the move he was a pleasure to watch with his reach and drive. Well deserved CC in a good line up.

Both of these males showed breed type. In good condition and colour. Typical heads. Correct mouths. Head planes pleasing. Good in body and muscletone. On the day i preferred the movement on winner.

Bigger male all through. On the move he was a little erratic today. Stood presents a nice profile. In good coat and muscletone

 I have long been an admirer of this Kennel who also produces quality exhibits. Beautiful colour. So nice to handle a good head. Neck flows into a Body that is as the breed standard. Forequarters pleasing. Feet good. Hindquarters are well angulated but not overdone. On the move he presented a stride that made him look effortless. A very worthy Champion. 

2ND 40 - Sireva New Kid On The Block (Mr A & Mrs J Rintoul) another well made dog from this Kennel. Unlucky to meet winner today. Balance throughout with depth to forequarters. Good bone. Coat in good order. On the move he is pleasing with a good stride.

 What a lovely boy. Has the breed attributes with typical head and ears. Body is fit and has depth. Ribs sprung. Moved out really well.

 So pleasing to have such quality in this class. I do think that some dogs prove that good breeding and rearing shows how well they can last in the ring. Smart boy who moved well. Head, neck body all true.

A bigger male all through. On handling his head I just felt he was a little to broad in back skull. Firm in body. Well muscled with depth of chest. Well turned stifles. Moved extremely well .

1ST 36 - Enjager Elegance for Brownbank (Mrs C & Mrs S Rayner & Maskell) a beautiful pup. A star in the making. She has an exquisite head piece. Beautiful construction throughout with a good neck. 

 Feet are correct. Head is so typical of the breed. Beautiful construction throughout. Good coat and shown in good condition. On the move is when she comes into her own for a puppy. Couldn't deny her BPIS. Well done and I look forward to watching her career.

 Another beauty from the Sireva Kennel. Lovely colour and coat. Sweet head with good planes. Eyes set well. Ears pleasing length. Front construction is correct. Neck is moderate at this stage. Good body and rear. Moved on a good stride for a puppy. 

2ND 6 - Lustamusk Star Mississippi (Mrs S J & Mr S A Cain) not as forward at this stage. Only a puppy her time will bring maturity. Good bone and feet. Body flows into good quarters.

1ST 30 - Brownbank Willow with Raystans JW (Mrs S & Mrs C & Miss G Maskell & Rayner & Maskell). What a spirited youngster she is! Has ring presence by the bucket full. She tended to set off at a fast pace but as the day went on she calmed down to get into her stride and thoroughly deserved her win.

I found her skull most pleasing with good balanced provisions. Good eye colour and has the desired ear length which was not in abundance on some exhibits. She has correct feet and toes and stands her ground well. Beautiful assembly front and aft. Everything fits so well into each piece. Good topline and loin. Well muscled but not overdone. Has a good stride and rear movement in profile and coming and going. Good coat and colour. Very pleased to award her first CC and BOB.

I'm sure she will go onto bigger wins.

Liked her very much. Another that has the breed type required. Good coat. Stood presents a typical standard. Well turned stifles. Moved out and back well.

 Another good example of the breed. A strong girl with good body. Head is correct. Carried her topline well on the move. Coat in good order. No mistaking her breed type.
