JACK RUSSELL TERRIER

I really enjoyed judging the Jack Russells. The breed is now quite competitive both at breed level and in the terrier competition. On previous occasions I have been a little concerned with rear movement but I felt today that there has been improvement in this aspect. They are delightful characters.

1st: HORWOOD, Ms A Pentatty Baga Chipz-a nice one to kick off with, stood alone and could have coped with competition, smart and showy, super outline in stance and a good profile on the move, moved well behind, a little untidy in front. Very promising.

PGD (3 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: MCCLUSKEY, Mr Philip & YOUNG, Miss Jillian Tiltser Voulez Vous Avec Chadbrook-this boy presented a good side piece and possessed an excellent topline, lovely head, movement up and back not quite so good.

OD (9 Entries) Abs: 1

Lovely class to judge and there were three that caught my eye straightaway, each looking competitive.

1st: TATE, Mrs K & NAGRECHA, Mr Aaron Chandlimore Play Boy At Jaeva-great outline on this boy, super size, masculine but in no way coarse or overdone, really good mover up, back and in side gait with a great topline. Super showman and continued to catch the eye. Best male and BOB in a good breed entry.

2nd: CHERRY, Mrs B Shanandi High Hopes-super type and I kept looking at this boy, in really hard condition, super muscle, excellent headed boy, great outline and firm topline, not quite as tight in elbow as the winner but it was a close contest. Res best dog. Quality boy all through.

3rd: LANE-RIDYARD, Mrs Penny & LANE, MRS SANDY & LANE, Kulawand White Diamond JW

1st: HORWOOD, Ms A & TATE, Mrs K & NAGRECHA, Mr A Jaeva Front Row Seat-I liked the overall look of this girl, I thought that she had balanced proportions, a good head and moved well up and back.

2nd: RYAN, Mrs Deb Saredon Hip Hop-eye catching girl, looked a touch long and immature against the winner, moved well,

3rd: STURROCK, Miss N Locheil You Win My Love Forfarian

1st: RYAN, Mrs Deb Saredon Quickstep-11 month girl, unmistakeably a bitch as she is so pretty, very showy, gorgeous head, good proportions and excellent mover in all directions. Lovely free movement with reach and drive which won her Res best bitch and best puppy in breed. Delighted to see her take 2nd in the puppy group. Should have a bright future.

2nd: TATE, Mrs K & NAGRECHA, Mr Aaron Chandlimore Rainbow Over Jaeva-pushed the winner hard, this kennel is producing a lovely type of Jack, another that was good up and back and in profile. I just felt the winner was a bit more free in profile movement.

3rd: LANE-RIDYARD, Mrs Penny & LANE, MRS SANDY & LANE, Kulawand Skip N'be Merry

Lovely class to judge.

1st: TATE, Mrs K & SHANMUGAM, Mr Sabharish Jaeva Blue Moon To Chandlimore Taf-very typical, nice headed girl, good in neck and shoulders, very good up and back, lovely show attitude, lovely outline. Finished best bitch in a competitive line up.

2nd: JACKMAN MBE TD, Col (R'td) Stephanie L E L Lotte E Navigareamor Storm Gerrit-I loved the type of this girl, super head, great outline and good topline, if she had been a bit steadier on the move she would have pushed even harder.

3rd: LESTER & SMITH, Mrs & Miss L & S Chandlimore Whats Occuring Domburg

OB (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: ROSELL, Ms Sanna & NAGRECHA, Mr A & TATE, Mrs K Chandlimore Scarlet Ribbon With Jaeva-similar type to the others from this kennel today, feminine, showy, good mover, was a bit lively in the challenge

2nd: LANE-RIDYARD, Mrs Penny & LANE, MRS SANDY & LANE, Kulawand Wicked Waffle-workmanlike, decent outline, good show temperament, was just a bit restricted in the rear.

3rd: TAYLOR, Mr R & Mrs D Calavey's The Recognition At Minaelea
