Spaniel (American Cocker)

Many thanks to the American Cocker exhibitors for a lovely entry, both numerically and in overall quality. Presentation across the board was excellent. This breed holds a special place for me, being the first Gundog I owned and exhibited, which made the day all the more special. It was a real pleasure to spend time with such lovely temperaments and charming characters.

9-year-old buff male with a dark eye and correct scissor bite. Displays adequate reach of neck and ok shoulder and upper arm. Presents well, though slightly long in outline when stacked.

7-month-old black male puppy of promising type. Presents a lovely, gently sloping topline, with correct bite and dark eye contributing to a pleasing expression. Shows excellent plushness. Well-laid shoulder with good return of upper arm. Moved out really well, showing soundness and confidence on the move. 

2ND 4991 - Americlass Hollywood Parti (Mrs G Clay)Black and white with a strong, well-boned frame. Displays correct eye, correct scissor bite and good reach of neck flowing into a well-laid shoulder with matching return of upper arm. Well ribbed back, with a powerful rear. Topline tends to rise slightly on the move.

1ST 4995 - Afterglow Dominion at Zarcrest (W, L & J Harris, Mclachlan & Lynn)

Orange and white male presented in excellent condition. Dark eye enhances a pleasing expression. Displays good reach of neck flowing into a well-laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Tail set is correct, and topline is held well. Would prefer more ribbing but he moved out well, covering the ground with ease.

Black and tan male of pleasing masculine type—strong without coarseness. Well-laid shoulder with matching return of upper arm. Well ribbed back supporting a good topline that flows into a well-set tail. Moved out well with drive, powered by a strong rear.

Dark eye giving a lovely expression with a correct bite. Shows good reach of neck flowing smoothly into a well-laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Moved out really well with balance and purpose.

22-month-old buff male with a dark eye and good chest development. Exhibits a well-laid shoulder and matching return of upper arm.  Moved out well with drive, though tended to crab slightly on the go. 

2ND 4992 - Afterglow Bang Tidy (Mrs B Edwards)

6-year-old male with larger overall proportions. correct bite, good reach of neck into well laid forequarters. Maintains topline and moved out well with purpose and balance.

Chocolate and tan male with dark eye and nose, and a correct bite. Presents a lovely shoulder and upper arm assembly with a neat, well-constructed front and tight elbows. Maintains a solid topline and moved out really well with balance and drive. 

2ND 4994 - Sh Ch Zarcrest After Blend (Mr W Harris)

Impressive, masculine male with a correct bite and dark eye, contributing to a lovely expression. Displays good reach of neck flowing into a well-laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Covers the ground with ease, maintaining a correct topline and tail set throughout.

Black and tan bitch puppy with a feminine head. Displays a good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm, complemented by a lovely topline. Moves out exceptionally well. 

2ND 4990 - Americlass Dita von Parti (Mrs G Clay)

Lovely head, dark eye, and correct bite. good reach of neck into well laid shoulder and return of upper arm, though slightly longer in cast than 1st.

Dark eye giving a lovely expression, correct scissor bite, ok reach of neck into well laid shoulder and ok upper arm; well sprung ribs and moved out well.

Black and tan with a dark eye and correct bite, of lovely size. Shows good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm, and moves out well with balance and drive.

Black and tan with a lovely head and type. Shows a good dark eye and correct bite. Lovely rear assembly, though the front is not quite on par with the first-place dog.
