I would like to begin by thanking the society for giving me this opportunity to judge at their championship show and my stewards for keeping the ring moving and ordered to make the day very pleasurable. Finally, I would like to thank the exhibitors for entering and giving me the honour of judging their dogs. I am sure some went home disappointed, but unfortunately only a few can be successful at each show and some that did not pick up honours today will do so on other occasions. In my opinion there were some exhibits today that just did not sparkle or perform as well as others and that can be the deciding factor. My general comments would be that mouths could be better and there are several dogs that when moving can be wide at the front and narrow at the rear. The warm temperature and size of the ring may have affected some of the exhibits in their movement but there was a lack of drive in some.
Minor Puppy Dog (no entries)
Puppy Dog (1) 1st Price’s Rodiveco the Archer at Kohbern 9 months. Masculine head with dark eye colouring. Well-marked although I would prefer more white on his front feet. Well angulated shoulder and well ribbed. Good strong bones developing. Nicely proportioned. Moved well for a puppy although a little wide at the front and narrow at the rear. Tended to carry his tail high on the move as he was quite keen today. Confident in his nature. Best Puppy.
Junior Dog (2) 1st Cotton’s Etterbern Buz Vegas at Jukesbern 14 months. Masculine head with nice dark eyes. Average size with good bend of stifle. Presented in excellent condition. Moved well keeping a good level topline with good tail carriage. Looks to have a promising future.
2nd Meakins’ Aangelrain Dark Prince 17 months. Nice masculine head with dark eyes. Another of average size with a good bend of stifle in good proportion. Coat in good condition and nicely marked. Not the movement of the first but ok keeping a level topline. Lovely temperament.
3rd Vaychkus & Vaickus’ Bernaroso Grand Prix
Yearling Dog (1) 1st Tomkins’ Fortonpark More Class for Bernershaw 19 months. Nice masculine head with a defined stop, dark almond eyes. Good angulations throughout and adequate bone. Can stand with his rear feet open. In good coat, moved ok keeping a level topline but another that moved loosely on the front and needs to tighten up as he matures.
Post Graduate Dog (2) 1st Long’s Prinss Vom Durrbachler Wald for Glamrock Imp Nld 2 years old. Appealing masculine head and expression. Adequate angulation both front and rear, but I would prefer slightly more bend of stifle. Nicely marked and moved flowingly around the ring, but I would prefer to see more reach and drive to complete the picture
2nd Austen’s Norburylou Karias Star nearly 3 years old. Nice masculine head with a wide white blaze, nice dark eyes and flat skull. Enough bone for his size, well ribbed and nice bend of stifle. Unfortunately lacking in hair on his tail. Held a good topline on the move but his movement not as good as the first. Lovely temperament.
Limit Dog (4) 1st Jones’ Collansues Abracadabra 4 years old. Caught my eye immediately. Big strong looking male in full coat. Masculine head with dark eyes. An old-fashioned type of male. Good reach of neck, good angulation front and back and plenty of bone throughout. He moved well. Gave the impression that he could work all day. RCC.
2nd Peacocke’s Bobb Vom Durrbachler Wald Taf Naf 4 years old, he didn’t have the stature or masculinity of the first but is still a very nice boy. Slightly rounded dark eyes. Adequate angulation throughout and in good coat. Has nice markings and moved ok keeping a level topline but is close behind. Well handled.
3rd Bridges’ Krimm Bernenska Sfora at Kernow (Imp Pol)
Open Dog (3) Three really nice males who I am sure change places on a regular basis.
1st O’Toole’s Fortonpark Talk of the Town 5 years old. Mature boy with a strong masculine head with a well-defined stop. Stands square and presents a good shape from all sides. He has a good reach of neck and has good angles throughout. Shown in good coat with good markings. On the move he showed good reach and drive keeping a good level topline which was eventually the telling factor over his rivals today. DCC & BOB.
2nd Copeland’s Kernow Dollar Promises at Maxjabar Shcex 4 years old. Masculine head with dark almond shaped eyes. Another who looks shapely on the stand with good angulation throughout. Moved well with good drive. For me not as mature as the winner but a nice boy.

Veteran Dog (1) 1st Cotton’s Kernow Billy No Mates at Jukesbern 7 ½ years old. Impressive masculine head with dark slightly rounded eyes and slight furrow with a wide white blaze. Well-muscled front with a deep chest and strong neck. Level topline and good bend of stifle. In good coat and well presented. Yearling Bitch (3) 1st Flanagan’s Collansues Fine Arts 23 months. Nice feminine head with dark eyes. Nice forequarters and good bend of stifle. Nice markings although would prefer more white on the front left foot. Moved well and sympathetically handled.
2nd Peacocke’s Husheen Lower Sabi
3rd Vaughan’s Kernow Penguin
Post Graduate Bitch (1) 1st Meakins’ Bellatrix Do Monte Dos Ursos (Imp Prt) 2 years old. Feminine head with dark eyes. Adequate angles front and rear. Is a little fine in bone and needs to develop more. Not helped today by also being lacking in coat during this hot spell. Moved ok, but a little close behind
Limit Bitch (2) 1st Bridges’ Oonelladream A Stolen Kiss at Kernow 2 years old. A feminine head with a narrow white blaze and dark eyes. Presents a lovely shape on the stand with good angulation front and rear. In adequate coat with good markings. Moved out well keeping a level topline but just lacking a bit of drive. A very nice girl who was seriously considered for top honours today.
2nd Long’s Kernow Going Back to my Roots at Glamrock 5 years old. Feminine head with dark eyes and well-defined stop. Adequate bone throughout with adequate angulation. In full coat with nice markings.
Open Bitch (6, 2) 1st Worrall’s Fortonpark Sweet Dreams at Oakbern 5 years old. Lovely feminine head and expression with dark eyes and a well-defined stop. A good strong neck which leads into well-laid shoulders. Good angulation front and rear presents a level topline on the stand. In good coat with lovely markings. Moved well with good reach and drive. A lovely mature lady. BCC
2nd Green & English’s Waldershelf Queen’s Inglish 2 years old. A very promising young lady who was not fully clothed today, but I could see her qualities. Less mature than the winner and still needs to develop into the finished product. A feminine head with dark eyes. Good bone and good angulation front and rear. Level topline on the stand and kept while moving. RCC
3rd Sokel’s Kernow Blue Lagoon
