IRISH TERRIER

Minor Puppy Dog 2,0

1st Bentleys Newguild Royale

7mths. Good for size and shape. Beautiful headed male with correct ear set and carriage. Excelled in skull, eye and expression. Although topline could be stronger, it is sufficiently good for age with super tailset. Nicely angulated front and rear. Moved well. BPIB

2nd Hancox’s Newguild Rhythm

7mths Litter brother to 1, and much the same applies but not quite so together on the day. Nice head of a good width. Adequate chest for age. Has a better topline than 1, but had a tendency to throw his front coming towards.

Puppy Dog 4,1

1st Bentleys Newguild Royale - Repeat

2nd Hobsons Erredwiltsir All for Love

11mths. Not quite the sharpness of 1, nor the topline. However, he has a pleasing head, good ear carriage, lovely eyes. His rear angulation is good, movement is sound, but had a tendency to roach his topline which was evident in profile.

3rd Hancox’s Newguild Rhythm

Junior Dog 1,0

1st Walkers Hogan Horace Hoya

13mths. Nice overall profile. Lacked a little chiselling in head, and has a touch too much stop, for my preference; but still quite young so time could correct. Nice ear set, and width of skull. Neat feet. Nice front and rear and is okay for topline. Difficult to assess on the move as he had a tendency to skip in the summer sun!

Yearling Dog 3,0

1st Lovelace’s Sir of The Lagan with Brazan

15mths. Lovely overall shape with super head piece. Good width of skull, correct ear set and carriage, lovely eye. Strong muzzle with correct dentition. Good topline. Nice rear angulation, correct turn of stifle, and moving well.

2nd Lee’s Ivyblue Red Moonlight

18mths. A touch rangier than 1 but a lot to like. Nice skull, of correct width. Good ears and set. A tad longer in loin than I’d prefer but has a good rear with nice stifle. Topline could be firmer, but tail set is good. Moving soundly.

3rd Walker’s Hogan Horace Hoya

Post Graduate Dog 2,0

1st Bentley’s Newguild Royale -repeat

2nd Thomas & Print ‘s Bilarny Hotcross Bun

2yrs. Nice overall topline, good spring of rib. Head is okay, although eye is touch rounder than I’d prefer which spoilt expression. Nice neck, good shoulders. Is nice in profile but front is a little loose coming towards and is a tad cowhocked going away.

Limit Dog 4,0

1st Connell’s Sonorra The Godfather

19mths. Excels in size, shape and outline. Beautifully masculine head, correct stop, super muzzle and dentition. Ear set and carriage is spot on. Correct reach of neck, widening nicely into correctly placed shoulders. Topline was a touch slack, but he moved with correct gait, and with his plus points it was easy to forgive. DCC. Challenged hard for BOB but just lacked the maturity the bitch gave me.

2nd Cooke’s Montelle Flash Light to Lionwood

20mths. Another lovely male with much of 1 applying. Preferred his topline, and is good for front and rear angulation. However, his ‘over-exuberance’ on the go round made movement hard to assess.

3rd Ruffles’ Holbam Midsummer Knight at Ruffmar (ai) JW

Open Dog 3,1

1st Richards’ Ch Lodgecroft Singing Master

17mths. Nice head overall with correct stop, but his eye was, I felt, a touch big, which spoilt his expression. That said, there is a lot to like about this male. Super front, and rear angulation, and good spring of rib. Topline was a tad slack, but tailset and carriage were good, and he moved very well. Pushed hard but had to give way to on form Limit Dog. RDCC

2nd Oliver’s Rufous Gubbeen of Cleeve

3yrs. Another pleasing outline, really liked his topline. Skull was narrow with good ears, set and carriage. Good spring of rib. A touch over-angulated in rear but moved soundly.

Minor Puppy Bitch 2,0

1st Karau’s Newguild River

7mths. Lovely size and shape excelling in head profile, eye, skull, earset and carriage. Nice length of neck into good shoulders. Good width in front. Nice spring of rib for age and holding her topline well both moving and in repose. Moved nicely for such a youngster.

2nd Davidson’s Silbraehill Miss Dynamite

6mths and still very much a baby. Has nice overall proportions. Pleasing head and eye. Nice width of front, with adequate spring of rib for age. Rear angulation and turn of stifle is good. Needs to settle on the move but shows promise.

Puppy Bitch 1,0

1st Davidson’s Silbraehill Miss Dynamite - Repeat

Junior Bitch 2,0

1st Buss’s Magairlin Swan Rive

13mths. Feminine girl with pleasing head proportions. Nice skull, although flying her ears a little at the moment. Front is okay, with nice depth of chest. Good turn of stifle and moved well.

2nd Bennett & Kennedy’s Mcfinn's Betsy Boo

13mths. Larger in frame than 1, but still a lot to like. Pleasing head profile, although eye is a touch larger than I prefer. Strong muzzle, good dentition. Is a touch longer in loin than 1, and is a tad over angulated in rear. Is okay on the move.

Yearling Bitch 3,1

1st Lovelace’s Eata The Great with Brazan

16mths. Very together and loved her head profile, ear set and eyes. Super feminine expression. Nice width of front, with correct angulation front and rear. Solid topline, tailset and carriage are good. Nice turn of stifle and moving well. Very promising.

2nd Lee’s Ivyblue Red Sunlight

18mths. Rangier bitch but has a lot to like. Pleasing head with good eye. Feminine expression. Good front, nice spring of rib. A touch over angulated in rear but moved soundly with correct gait.

Post Graduate Bitch 2,1

1st McConnell’s Holbam Shamrock Connie

3 1/2yrs. Nice for size and profile. Pleasing head with good eye and expression. Nice neck. A touch upright in upper arm. Nicely ribbed, correct loin. Topline not her fortune but is nice in rear and pleasing on the move

Limit Bitch 4,0

1st Bradshaw’s Holbam Midsummer Sprite (ai)

3yrs. Lovely overall shape and size. Lovely head and eye. Good skull with correct ears and set. Good reach of neck, set correctly into shoulders. Lovely front. Nicely ribbed, good topline and tailset. Good rear angulation and moving well.

2nd Redman’s Holbam Freya JW

2 ½yrs. Another pleasing bitch, very feminine. Would like a touch move depth of chest and a firmer topline, but still has a lot to offer. Lovely head and neck. Good front and rear angulation and moving well.

3rd Hobson’s Erredwiltsir Shine A Light

Open Bitch 8,1

1st Kikuta’s Jpn Ch Jpn Ch High-Cross Jp Miu Saredon

3yrs. My star of the day. Excels in overall shape and size, profile is lovely. Stunning head, with superb eye. Correct ear set and carriage. Lovely muzzle and dentition. Width of front is spot on and is correctly angulated front and rear. Nicely ribbed with lovely depth of chest and loin is good. Moved well with confidence and with correct gait. BCC & BOB, Pleased to see her win Group 3 in a strong terrier group.

2nd Case’s Kerrykeel Koire Ir Jun Ch

3yrs. Another lovely bitch that pushed 1 all the way. Topline is better on this girl, but I preferred the head piece of 1. Skull profile is nice, with good ears although set is a touch wide. Nicely ribbed with good loin. Moved well when settled. RBCC

3rd Bentley’s Ch Norakim Tango of Newguild
