THE COTSWOLD BOXER CLUB
45TH Championship Show – 06/12/25
What an honour to be asked to judge one of the best Boxer breed championship shows there is! And of course my first baby puppy classes that I have judged, this was a real treat. The overall standard of the exhibits was very good, apart from one kennel who thought it was ok to attend a show with grubby dogs that ponged! This is a beauty show after all, so please bath your dogs before exhibiting them. I must also say a big thank you to my very efficient steward Trevor, you did a grand job! .
Baby puppy dog (5)
1st Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale Mystical Magical, brindle and white 4 ½ months old, what an absolute delight this class was of lovely babies, This chap headed the class and was exceptionally well schooled, he had a stunning outline which all flowed together nicely. He is well off for bone, super angles front and back, and level topline. His head is raw as you would expect for his age, good bite, well placed ears and dark eyes. He has an exceptionally well crested neck which he used well to assist in him in clinching the win of this class. He was super tidy on the move too for one so young Pleased to also award him Best Baby Puppy in Show.
2nd Brough’s Limubox Up Yer Kilt, another lovely brindle baby, also 4 ½ months old, he pushed for 1st place, he did at times give his handler some tests as he is very head strong! Also very well put together, super forechest and layback of shoulder, and good rear angulation. His topline is sound too. Stunning head slightly more developed than my 1st placed pup, super width of muzzle for his age, and good bite. Not quite as tidy on the move as 1st placed pup. I will watch these 2 pups develop into lovely adults I believe.
3rd Elsworth’s Misstricks Dartagnan.
Veteran Dog (3,2)
1st Godwin’s Sultash Cunco, brindle and white chap, 9 years old, he was in tip top condition for an elderly dog, even had visible teeth, he is well angulated and you can still see his muscles for an older boy. Super topline and well balanced silver chopped head. Excellent width to his muzzle and still dark kind eyes. Tidy cat like feet and evident forechest with super crest to his neck. He moved out well with good reach and drive.
Minor Puppy Dog (5,2)
1st Mair’s Lorrosa Dizzy Rascal at Glenauld, another brindle and white boy 8 months old, hes well for bone and presents a square outline, super crested neck flowing into well laid shoulders, good topline and tailset. He is quite mature for his age, with an evident forechest. He has a well balanced head with good rise of skull, and good bite. He moved with purpose to take this class.
2nd McCarthy and Gething’s Jeddhi Oh Danny Boy, brindle and white 8 months old, not as mature as the winner, super topline, could perhaps benefit from a tad more angulation front and back. He has a really super head, good width through his muzzle, well placed ears and evident stop. Expressive dark eyes, not as tidy on the move as my winner.
Puppy dog (4,1)
1st Renshaw-Turner and Turner’s Newlaithe Northern Soul at Sonshoby, another brindle and white, 10 months old, extremely well put together chap, presenting a square outline. He has a super underline and strong back and well arched ribs. Straight parallel front and short pasterns. He has a pleasing head with good balance, lovely deep muzzle with evident chin and super bite, his skull is clean with evident cheek muscles. On the move he was tidy with good reach and drive. Best puppy dog, just losing out to his sister for Best Puppy in Show, I was informed of this after the judging, what a cracking litter, congrats to the breeder.
2nd Cherry’s Cherryforge Reble At Heart, another brindle and white boy, 11 months old, he wasn’t as self assured as the 1st placed dog. Nevertheless very well put together, well up on size and good head with a lean skull and kind dark eyes. Elegant crested neck flowing nicely into his withers, super front angulation and good topline. Not as confident on the move as the !st placed puppy.
3rd Fay- Smith’s Lorrosa Keepin It Real
Junior Dog (4)
1st Chell’s Jimbren Elite Legacy at Ludic, This was a really nice class of males I liked them all! 16 month old brindle, he has super confirmation, tall upstanding chap. Good bone and super catlike feet. He has a tidy underline, strong back and good angulation front and back. His head is super too with good width to the muzzle and evident chin, and the kindest of dark eyes which were really appealing. He really strode out on the move with reach and drive.
2nd Payne’s Willow Eye of the Tiger (IKC), red and white boy 13 months old, he is quality too, and I really thought he would be my winner, but he was a little erratic on the move, being a teenager at heart giving his handler some challenges. More mature than my winner, presenting a super square outline, he has a strong muscular back with good tuck up, super angulation front and back. He’s well off for bone and has lovely catlike feet. His red coat really shone and he was presented in tip top condition. His head is all masculine, good width of muzzle and evident chin, super dark eyes and good rise of skull. I’m sure these 2 will have a bright future.

He excelled on the move holding a strong topline at all times. He has a deep chest reaching his elbows, broad thighs, and well arched ribs. His neck is clean cut and his head is balanced with a kind dark eye.
2nd Hill’s Xandene Blue Bayou, this was a close decision with these 2 as these are both very smart dogs, he is a brindle of 5 years old. He scores in outline and is well balanced, perhaps is not as tidy as 1 in his underline, which is probably due to his age. Super arched neck which is strong and flows nicely into well laid back shoulders. He has a good topline and correct tail set. His head is balanced with good width to his muzzle and good bite. On the move in profile he covered the ground with ease. Handled very well.

Tidy in underline and strong back with hammy quarters. Super well balanced head, good mouth and markings, good muscular cheeks and clean skull. He really strode out well on the move with good reach and drive, and looked like he could do that movement all day. Pleased to award him the DRCC
