My sincere thanks to the committee for their kind invitation to judge this charming breed. I really enjoyed my day and had some fabulous dogs to go over. Thank you to all the exhibitors for allowing me to judge your dogs. I was very impressed by the quality in some classes where I had some difficult decisions to make. I must say there are some lovely youngsters which must bode well for the future of the breed. Special thanks to my very able steward Brian who kept the ring going efficiently and me in order! I really enjoyed my day and thank you.

BABY PUPPY BITCH- (1)

1ST _ ELLIS - EDGWAREBURY LADY KATHERINE EASTONITE

What a little poppet. Just 4mths of age and full of fun and exuberance. Fawn with good head for age and with black pigmentation. Dark, round eyes with soft expression. Still a lot of maturing to do but short and cobby in body with good tail set and carriage. A little erratic on the move at first, but moved well once settled. A very promising puppy - BBP

VETERAN BITCH – (5; 1 Abs)

1st - STOREY - CH RHODENASH KOTTEN KOPY

7yrs old fawn of lovely size and type and in fabulous condition for her age. Head of good proportions, with black mask and well defined wrinkles. Large round dark eyes with lovely expression. Nose black with nice wide nostrils. Firm body, short and cobby and with level top line. High-set tightly curled tail. Strong hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moved well with typical rolling gait. Please to award her BVB and with my co judges agreement BVIS.

2ND - TYDEMAN & WRIGHT - CH ZUAZU SYBIL

Another fawn exhibit of very nice type. Well proportioned head with attractive mask and wrinkles. Soulful eyes and neat ears. Solid in body moved very well.

1ST – REYNOLDS - CROFTREN GLORIOUS GRACE

Fawn puppy of just 6mths. Charming and happy temperament. Sweet feminine head proportionate to body. Lovely black pigmentation and wrinkles. Open nostrils. Dark lustrous eyes. Square and cobby in outline and with firm top line and good tail set. Coat fine, soft and glossy. Moved soundly and with correct gait. – BPB

2ND – REID - BUBBAPEG EMPRESS PUDDING

Another promising puppy of just 6mths. Lovely temperament. Nice shape and size. Good head and eye, black wrinkles and mask, dark eyes and neat well set ears. Square in body with high set on tail carried well. Moved soundly and true.

Fawn bitch of just 6mths and apparently litter mate to previous class winner and many of the same comments apply, including a charming temperament. Broad, rounded head of good proportions, with attractive black mask and wrinkles. Large, dark expressive eyes and black nose with open nostrils. Square and cobby in body with level top line and high-set tightly curled tail. Soft coat of ideal texture. A little hesitant at first on the move, but once settled, moved very soundly.

Another sibling from the same litter and yet another lovely puppy. Very happy and playful and fidgety on the table. Fawn with lovely head of good proportions and attractive black mask, wrinkles and tracings. Large, dark eyes with that soft expression. Firm body with level top line. Good bone. Sound on the move.

14/12 fawn girl of very nice type. Happy, playful personality. Attractive feminine head of good proportions with black mask and well defined wrinkles. Expressive dark round eyes and good open nostrils. Stood square with firm muscular body, good neck and shoulders and straight legs with good bone. Soft coat of good texture. Moved steadily and with rolling gait.

2ND – HILL – RHODENASH KANDOO KHAOS WITH CALAQUENDI

Sister to 1 and very similar in type. Well rounded head of good proportions. Maybe a little longer in body but very sound and moved with ease and confidence..

3rd – EDDERY, DAWSON-PAYNE – JUDAMIE LE MAGNIFIQUE

YEARLING BITCH (4; 1 Abs)

1ST – TYDEMAN & WRIGHT- JOBEILE DREAM SPARKLER AT TARTANMOPS

Fawn of 19/12 of nice shape and size. Good head with black mask and wrinkles. Large round eyes with pleasing expression. Short, cobby body with good neck and shoulders, firm top line and strong, well angulated hindquarters. Coat fine, soft and glossy. Happy temperament. Moved soundly and with confidence.

2ND – CLAY, SQUIRES AND WILLIAMS – CHANDSHAR LA PARISIAN AT BEARCREST

Fawn of good type. Nicely rounded head with short blunt muzzle, black nose and wide nostrils. Eyes large and lustrous. Square in body and well angulated front and rear. A little naughty on the table and on the move, but moved very well once settled.

Fawn girl of just 11mths. Nicely rounded head of good proportions. Attractive black mask and wrinkles. Nostrils nice and wide. Neat ears set well. Stood square with good neck and shoulders, cobby body level top line and high-set tightly curled tail. Moved soundly, displaying a rolling gait.

Small, square and cobby fawn girl. Broad rounded head with dark eyes with a soft gentle expression. Nice black mask and well defined wrinkles and moles. Short muzzle with black nose and open nostrils. Firm body with good spring of rib, deep chest and good angulation front and rear. Level top line and tightly curled tail. Moved very soundly with distinctive roll.

Fawn of nice shape and size. Head of good proportions with attractive black mask. Stood four square. Cobby body, with good spring of rib, well muscled and with level top line. Moved steadily and with typical pug roll.

3yrs fawn girl of nice type and shape. Broad rounded head of good proportions with black mask and well defined wrinkles. Short and square in outline with proud neck and sloping shoulders. Firmly muscled. Well angulated rear used to advantage. Moved very soundly and displaying a true pug gait. Pleased to award her RBCC

2nd – COWIE – CH AFTERGLOW ESTHER LA VISTA MEGIPUGI JW

Another pleasing fawn of very nice type and a very close decision. Nice rounded head with lovely expressive eyes. Black mask and wrinkles. Firm body with level top line and tightly curled tail. Coat fine and soft and with black tracings. Moved steadily, with correct gait.

Short , cobby black girl, with broad rounded head and the most beautiful lustrous eyes. Black nose with wide nostrils. Muscular in body with good angulations. Firm top line and high set tail carried correctly. Coat fine and glossy. Moved very soundly.

2ND - COWIE – MEGIPUG’S DAY OR KNIGHT JW

Sweet girl of 4.5yrs Broad, rounded head of good proportions. Large dark eyes with soft expression. Black nose with wide nostrils. Firm body, with well sprung ribs and deep chest. Moved soundly.

Stood alone, but nevertheless, a quality exhibit. Rounded feminine head with black mask, well defined wrinkles and small neat ears. Large, dark expressive eyes. Square in body with firm muscle and good bone. Good neck and shoulders and well angulated rear. Level top line and tail set on high and carried correctly. Coat fine and soft. Moved and showed well displaying a definite pug roll. Very pleased to award her – BCC
