Lancashire & Cheshire Collie Club CH Show

I would like to thank the committee for their invitation to judge at this very warm and welcoming show. The day run smoothly, the conditions were ideal and the sportsmanship of exhibitors was honourable.

Minor Pupoy Dog

 1. Lynmead Designed With Love for Chantique. Six month old sable, whose head was nice to handle with clean wedge. Sweet eye and expression. Good under jaw, rounded muzzle and flat skull. Ears were well used and on top. Good arched neck, correct top line, although would prefer a little more lengthen of back. A well boned puppy, with long, low set tail. Moved around the ring on light feet with ease. Well presented.

 2. Gataj Time Will Tell. Another six month old sable. Well shaped, strong arched neck and good height to length ratio and good for bone also. Head was stronger than first, not quite as sweet but a lot can adjust in one so young, I’d be interested to see how her develops. He had good under jaw, clean wedge and well set ears. Showed and moved well.

 3. Aaronwell After The Rainbow

Puppy Dog

 1. Ladnar Call My Name. An impressive 9 month old blue Merle of super shape. Head of correct properties, clean wedge, good length of muzzle to back skull ratio. Obliquely set almond eye, well set ears, used often to create correct expression. Arched neck held to give dignified impression on the stand. Well laid shoulders, rise over loin, and good turn of stifle. Long tail, which is well set and held correctly as he moved with power around the ring. He was considered for the reserve cc, but it was not his time. BPD. BPIB and then at later BPIS.

 2. Gataj I Am Maximus. Eleven month old Tri colour. Sweet expression, although would prefer a slightly more oblique eye. Rounded muzzle, adequate underjaw, flat top skull, with correctly placed stop. He had a good length of back, but he doesn’t hold himself with the same vanity as 1st, although was groomed very well and presented immaculately.

Junior Dog

 1. Beldones Ivory Star. Beautiful sable and white male with all the correct proportions. Head handled well, balanced with a clean wedge and correct foreface to skull ratio. Sweet, obliquely set eye, correctly placed stop and well set ears all working together to give desired expression. Neck is strong and arched, onto well set shoulders, correct top line with slight rise over lion and length of back to height ratio met. Good bend of stifle and well of for bone, allowing him to move around the ring effortlessly. Attentive to handler and did all he could to be awarded the CC and there was no denying him the award. RBOB

 2. Gataj Perfect Timing. Sable and white, 16 month male, who's in between coats at the moment. Masculine, yet sweet, with head handling well. Stop in correct place and good underjaw. Was a little unsettled, but could still see his alertness. He tended to stand square, which was an indisjustice, as he had a good length of back when going over him. and was of balance proportions. Moved well around the ring & groomed perfectly.

 3. Essanjay Ring of Fire

Maiden Dog

N/A

Novice Dog

 1. Roughing Rags ‘N’ Riches. A handsome 15 month old sable and white with full white shawl. Once he settled and your hands were on him, he gave a good picture, as from a distance looked to have a shorter neck and too short in back due to coat fitment at the moment. He has a good arch neck, well placed shoulders, length of back with correct top line. He is mature for age, head is well filled with correct eye placement, giving sweet expression, ears were used well. He moved freely around the ring.

 2. Ladnar Call Me Maybe. Blue Merle of 9 months. His head was off correct proportions, however still quite raw, with a clean, wedge skull, equal muzzle to skull ratio, although would prefer a slightly sweeter oblique eye. He used his ears well. Good, strong arch, neck, length of back and low set tail. Well off for bone. He moved a little erratic, but when his brain matched his body, he could pull it together!

 3. Essanjay Ring of Fire

Graduate Dog

 1. Lynmead Royal Lover. Well groomed two and a half year old sable male. His eye was sweet and obliquely set, giving desired expression. Well rounded muzzle, flat skull, correctly placed stop and good underjaw. Ears used enough, when required. Neck of good length and well arched. Well strung ribs, good bone and turnoff stifle. Moved freely around the ring, with good angulation front and rear, demonstrating good reach and strength from rear. He was a bit unsettled at times which cost him higher honours.

 2. Malouines Never Ending Story.

Three year old sable and white male, who could have been made more off with a little better grooming and handling. He has a pleasant head, sweet eye and expression. Well filled muzzle, flat skull and ears which were adequately used, although a little on the heavier side, He had enough. Neck and length of back, good bone and turn of stifle. Would prefer a longer tail.

 3. Essanjay Ring of Fire

Post Graduate

 1. Uffspring Undeniable. And deniable how handsome he was! A 20 months old, beautiful blue merle of great color. Masculine, yet sweet head, clean wedge, well filled muzzle, correctly placed stop, flat skull, ears well sets used adequately. Beautiful outline, with good reach of neck, top line shoulders and rear with good angulation, giving a lovely picture. I really liked this male, he was just unsettled to go any further in the challenge.

 2. Avonfair Aloysius. Sable and white male of 22 months. Very well off for bone. Head of good proportions, although would prefer a smaller, more obliquely set eye. His muzzle is rounded, stop is in correct place and skull is flat. He has a good neck, length of back, spring ribs, good shoulders, and time of stifle, aiding him to move freely. Very attentive to handler and groomed beautifully.

 3. Barrenclough Diamond Skies

Limit Dog

 1. Camana Cellmate. An upstanding shaded sable, whom I have met before in the show ring. He is very masculine, yet sweet with a clean head to handle. Well set oblique eye giving a soft expression. He uses his ears well and is attentive to handler. He has well set shoulders, rise over loin, well formed rear angulation, giving a pleasing outline. He can be a little enthusiastic on the move, but when controlled, he has good reach and drive & keeps his top line. Was happy to award him the reserve CC he was unlucky to meet Junior Dog winner.

 2. Sherlock Holmes of Moon River For Chantique (Imp Fra). A close call between 2 & 3 in this class, where maturity and ring presence tipped this tri male into the higher position. Presented well, with jet black dense coat. Masculine but sweet boy, with filled and rounded muzzle, correct bite and good underjaw, correctly placed stop and flat skull, ears used well but would prefer them more tipped. Well boned, with sprung ribs and deep chest. Moved with pace.

 3. Triburle The Joker

Open Dog

 1. Paulara Blaze Of Glory. A young male who overall appeals for his balanced outline. He presents a lovely picture with a well arched neck, good length to height ratios. His head is a little heavier than I would prefer, but he is masculine yet still sweet. He has correct bite, good underjaw and filled muzzle. His eye is obliquely set and dark. His ears were used to his advantage, as he was attentive to handler. He had good front and rear amglieoons and rounded bone. His coat was dense and of correct texture, which was groomed to perfection.

 2. CH Gataj Turn Back Time JW. A very happy boy who was in between coats today. He lost out on first place as he presented himself in a square stance, whilst in the class, only to stretch himself out after final decision was made. He is made up of clean lines, head handles with ease. He has clean wedge through cheeks, good underjaw, and flat skull, with correctly placed stop. I would prefer a more oblique eye placement, however he still has sweetness on his expression, helped with the constant use of his ears. He has a good body, with spring in ribs. He moves freely with soundness. Presented well.

Veteran

 1. Lynmack Starman at Lemivee. A 9 year youthful, sable male who defies his years. He was handled and groomed to perfection, a credit to his owner. His head is of good properties, clean wedge, balanced length. Dark almond eye, correct stop placement and constantly used ears on top. His coat was fitted and of correct texture, in great condition. He moved well, with ease around the show ring! BVD

 2. Culbrae Red Again. Upstanding handsome sable of 8 years. Another dog with good head planes, no coarseness to the wedge through the cheeks, head of good length and balanced, dark eye, with ears used well. He is of good height in proportion to his length. Strong arched neck, slight rose over loin. Groom immaculate and presented to perfection. He moved with pace, although would prefer tighter rear movement.
