Three Counties Agricultural Society

Breed: Keeshond

I would like to thank the committee for this appointment and to thank the exhibitors for entering under me.

I have been involved with this breed for many years and am immensely fond of them. I was looking for dogs that were fit for function and were absolutely sound. The breed standard was updated in April 2025 and I was mindful of this while I was judging.

I did not find any dogs that made me feel like I needed to provide information to the breed watch. I was judging the dogs rather than the handling and I thank the exhibitors for following my directions enabling me to do this.

I was delighted to see that my Best Veteran won the Veteran Group.

Puppy Dog (1,0)

1. Mr G & Mrs S Rose’s Amkirs Uncle Fester. 7 months old. As I would expect at this age he was not the most helpful exhibit however he was very promising. He has a good outline, good head shape and ear placement. He has adequate bone and a nice tail. When he had all his feet on the floor he moved cleanly and briskly. I hope he settles as there is much to like. Best Puppy

Junior Dog (1,0)

1. Miss T A Church Voila Mon Vadim Damour for Tykees (IMP FRA) 14 months old with a good outline He moved steadily and had a good tail set His head shape and ear placement were good and he had dark eyes and a correct bite. He had adequate bone and a good coat texture.

3. Miss T A Church Shelderon Stemming Sage with Tykees 8 years old. Narrower in muzzle, good ears, eyes and topline. Longer in body. Good bone. Back feet not as nice as front feet. Moving close behind.

Veteran Dog (1,0)

1. Mr C & Miss N L Hickson’s CH Kichigai’s Only The Lonely VW. Nearly 10 years. Dark eyes, good ears and expression. Good outline. Good coat texture and bone. He truly lived up to his nickname of ‘Brat Dog’ today and was not at all willing to move the way I know he can. Moved better in the challenge and the rest of the day to get Reserve Best Dog and then Best Veteran and Veteran Group 1.

Postgraduate Bitch (2,0)

1. Mrs V & Mr S Marshall’s Devonia’s Hakuna Matata JW. 2 years old and another who was not the most cooperative today. Good markings, good ears and eyes and head shape. Adequate bone.
