Richmond Dog Show Society

Breed: Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)

I would like to thank the committee for this appointment and the exhibitors for entering under me.

I have been involved in this breed for many years including having one at home sometimes and handling them in the ring. This breed is close to my heart and I take the honour of judging them very seriously. I was mindful that the breed standard was updated in April 2025 and was judging the dogs rather than the handling. This is a working breed who should be able to go all day. To undertake the job they were bred for they need to be outgoing and have character. Whist it is always lovely to see a dog that is well trained and behaves impeccably for me it is more important to judge the breed against the breed standard.

I was beyond delighted to see how well my winners did in the groups.
