I would like to thank everyone who entered under me and waited so long for us to get into the ring. Thanks to the committee for inviting me and my ring stewards (who even brought a translator in case I didn’t speak English, which made me chuckle). On the positive side, I had some really good quality dogs in the ring and genuinely I had more than one option for the tickets. I am however concerned that tails don’t seem to improve and that some of the heads are becoming less typical. However, having found that rear movement has greatly improved in the breed, I am sure that breeders can correct this too.

1ST Marquant New Order (Miss F & Mrs L Price & Burns)
A R/R of lovely size and proportions, great body and substance for age, good shoulders and good bone, straight front, correct rear angulation, level topline and a correct tailset and carriage, which is sadly still not the norm these days. Good skull shape & size, small ears well carried, dark round eye, still needs some development of the underjaw and the accompanying slight tilt to the nose. A little unsettled on the move today, but such a sound dog.

1ST Delightbull Tad The Man for Topmead (A M Meaden)
This R/R has a lovely size, is well constructed, level topline and well-set on tail. Nice head and expression; those neat ears, round dark eyes and nose placement complement the good sweep of his wide underjaw to give him this open, alert and attractive expression. Very close up to the top awards in the final line-up.
2ND Zilcan Sunbeam TAF (Mr M, Mrs C & Miss F Selby, Allen & Whithead)
Few days after this dog was shown, tragedy struck. I have therefore decided writing a critique would be totally irrelevant and I can only but offer my deepest condolences to all involved.

1ST Star Griff Sheridan of Delightbull (Imp Ukr) (Miss L Wood)
R/R benefiting from a lovely clear red colour although the coat is currently in between, good overall square shape and level topline, still needs to mature in body and for the chest to drop. Correct mouth and underjaw, good pigment on nose but would prefer darker eye rims, eye is dark enough and of correct round shape. He walked with a good drive in the rear.

1ST Osthaen A Kind of Magic (G & P Mackay)
This B&T Smooth has great substance and a lovely cobby body, lovely proportions, good neckline, lovely tail carriage, moves well driving from the rear and with good width in front. Good wide nostrils and nose is well placed, good deep colour to his tan markings, eyes of correct size and shape.

1ST Adreeam Look at Me (Mr R & Mrs J Potts)
Good body shape, level topline, correct tailset, would prefer better lay of shoulders. Eye of correct round shape and good colour, could do with more fill under the eye and slightly shorter muzzle. Not totally happy on the move today. Good coat

1ST Ch Zilcan Monkey Business (Mr M, Mrs C & Miss F Selby, Allen & Whithead)
This R/R male has the outline that screams Griffon, correct shape, good substance, level topline, he has the shortness, cobbiness and also the elegance, with a good neck flowing into well-laid shoulders allowing the head to be carried proudly. Attractive head with small well carried ears, good wide underjaw, nice muzzle and nose placement. He moved well and his well textured red coat was presented in good condition. Had to fend off strong competition today for the CC & BOB.
2ND Ch Hierners Vidocq at Fennymore (Mrs M A Mercer)
This R/R dog is another one I have admired since his puppy days, he has a lovely shape with good depth and width of chest, good neck line, level topline, strong rear and good front. He has a good head with dark round eye and a lovely sweep of underjaw. Very close decision with 1st whose tail carriage and presentation were just picture perfect. Won a contested RCC, proving his many qualities.

1ST Fennymore Drama Puss (Mrs M A Mercer)
R/R who was in her underwear’s today but nothing to hide and her coat promises clear colour. Good substance for age, level topline with correct tailset & carriage to complete an overall pleasing shape. She also has an attractive head & expression with a wide underjaw, good dark round eye and strong pigment. Her head qualities carried her all the way to BP.
2ND Norymarbi Stelmaria Asriel (Mrs M E & Mr R L Oliver-Barratt & Barratt)
A happy B&T Smooth girl with good markings and in lustrous coat, she has a good shape but still needs to mature in body at this stage. Good shape of skull and correct nose placement & muzzle, would prefer slightly more width in underjaw.

1ST Zilcan Toffee Apple (Mr M & Miss C & Miss Fiona Selby & Allen & Whitehead)
This R/R bitch has a lovely size, level topline and is well constructed, good substance for age and a lovely clear red colour. Nice earset and carriage, good eye, would prefer slightly more turnup and width of muzzle. She moved so well with great drive from her strong rear with good width.
2ND Delightbull Lady in Red (Miss L Wood)
Another well sized R/R who has a great overall shape, correct construction front & rear, slightly longer in loin than 1. Good dark round eyes, correct open nostrils, would prefer a little more turn up and needs to grow into her ears. She moved well and was presented in good coat.

1ST Osthaen Fire Will Reign (G & P Mackay)
Lovely size & shape on this R/R bitch who was very excited and took a little time to allow herself to be gone over on the table as she was too busy trying to jump off it and generally run around. Moved well with drive and good width, good colour to her coat. She scored with her very attractive head and expression, with dark round eye, good nose placement, correct open nostrils, well high set ears of correct size and a lovely sweep of underjaw. Even though she is young and still needs to mature in body a little, I felt her sheer griffon attitude, overall shape and excellent head properties needed to be recognised. CC

1ST Osthaen I'm Your Fantasy (G & P Mackay)
R/R bitch of lovely size, good topline correct tailset, good rear angulation and enough lay of shoulder in front. Liked her skull size in proportion to body, good ear set, would prefer slightly more turn up, lovely eye size and shape. In her undercoat today but therefore hiding nothing.
2ND Cilleine Quadrille avec Carradine (Miss A Martin)
Another R/R in her undercoat, good skull size, large round eyes, correct nose placement & nostrils. Level topline and good rear but would prefer more lay of shoulders and return of upper arm in front.
LB (4/1)
1ST Datiro Tigger Point (Mr D Hick)
R/R bitch, fabulous coat quality, texture & colour, would not want her any bigger but she is well constructed, level topline, good neck line. Good pigment with good eye shape and correct width of underjaw, would prefer a little more typical muzzle.
2ND Cilleine Quintessential JW (Mrs D & Miss J Barney & Spittle)
This R/R has a correct level topline and good width throughout, although I would prefer a slightly shorter loin. She has a balanced movement which would be enhanced by slightly more rear angulation. Good head & skull size in relation to body, good earset correct eye shape & colour, a little more turnup would complete the expression.
OB (5/0)
1ST Ch Zilcan Blazinickers (Mr M & Miss C & Miss Fiona Selby & Allen & Whitehead)
A quality R/R bitch, whose coat was well presented, good overall body shape, good substance, good neck line flowing into a level topline with a high set tail that is well carried. She is well constructed and moves accordingly. Correct head & skull size, good eye of correct size, shape and colour, good earset with ears of pleasing size that are well carried. RCC
2ND Beauborne Pussycat Doll (Mrs M L Hughes)
A lovely square R/S bitch of good substance. She is correctly angulated front & rear, level topline and sports a tight coat of good colour. She has an attractive head with good earset, correct eye shape & colour, open nostrils and correct bite. Not quite the tail of 1, she moved well and has a lovely typical temperament.
