Three Ridings Labrador Club

Breed: Retriever (Labrador)

I would like to thank the Committee for a very warm welcome and well run show and also my very able Steward's on the day. With a lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere, l enjoyed my day immensely. Thank you also to my co-judge for our unanimous choices at the end of the day and of course to the exhibitors for their entries. Overall l was extremely please to see such quality and type endures in our lovely breed.

Class 16-Baby Puppy Bitch: (11 entries)-(4 abs)

1st: Grummitt's Manorwell Mustang Sally (AI) - Spot on for her age, beautiful kind head and expression, short coupled with good bone legs and tight feet correct coat and true movement.

2nd: Clayton,s Rochevale Aurora- Lovely kind head and expression, well placed shoulder, very close to 1st just need to tighten up in movement on quarters.

Class 17-Minor Puppy Bitch: (11 entries)-(2 abs)

1st: Charlton's Foxrush Hope So - just 6 months today, l wrote stunning outline and balance, gorgeous head and expression, compact body and sound true mover in good condition and not overdone in any way. l think we "Know So" a little star. Best Puppy in Show with complete agreement with co-judge.

2nd: Walton's Gallybob Whoops a Daisy - very close to 1st, beautiful head and expression, with short compact body and sound true movement, lovely class.

Class 18 - Puppy Bitch: (10 entries)-(4 abs)

1st: Hopkinson's Rocheby String of Gems - Such a kind eye set in a very well moulded head, well placed shoulder, good bone, short deep body and well angulated quarter with free movement. Such a well balanced confirmation. 

2nd: Brambles Shaymiloney Saucy Olive - very close to 1st, well balanced with beautiful kind head and expression, good mover with correct coat texture and in very good condition.

Class 19 - Junior Bitch: (5 entries)

1st: Braddon's Trendlewood It Takes Two JW - Beautiful Chocolate with good head and kind eye, balanced throughout with good front angulation, with the best of coat colour and condition. Positive true mover, Lovely bitch stood out in this class.

2nd: Mclellan's Saranden Book of Dreams - bred from above winners stock, l wrote lovely type, best of heads and kind expression, good front angulation and moved well, very promising just need time only one month difference between 1 & 2. 

Class 20: -Yearling Bitch (7 entries)-(1 abs)

1st: Woodley's Alkhamhurst London Girl - A beautiful head and expression on good clean neck and shoulder line. Good strong quarters and excellent movement. In top condition. l wrote "A Star" at this point and indeed she turned out to take the RES.CC later in the day.

2nd: Clayton's Rochevale Sapphire - Again very close decision, two true types. Sweet head and expression good clean neckline, compact body, excellent movement. Very promising.

Class 21: Maiden Bitch (5 entries)-(1 abs)

1st: Charlton's Foxrush Hope So. my 1st in Minor Puppy and Best Puppy in Show.

2nd: Baron's Landebec Villanelle - seen bitch my 3rd in Junior. Sweet head and expression, a little upright in shoulder placement which spoils her overall outline but good body properties and type and moved well.

Class 22: Novice Bitch (8 entries)-(1 abs)

1st: Woodburn's Centenalee Tiger Lilly - Kind head and expression, good front construction and in excellent condition, moved well but bordering on the heavy side.

2nd: Edwards Singretts Perfect Storm at Bearstone - Sweet head and expression, good front short coupled and a overall balanced bitch with true movement.

Class 23: Under Graduate Bitch (6 Entries) - (2 abs)

1st: Hopkinson's Rocheby Jasmin - Lovely Class. Beautifully balanced throughout. Lovely type from her beautiful head and expression clean neckline and well placed shoulders, excellent quarters and free true movement. 

2nd: Walton's Gallybob Tamarind - Same type as 1st bitch, sweet head and expression with good overall confirmation, in excellent condition, moved with drive and true. Two top class bitches.

Class 24: Graduate Bitch (6 entries)-(1 abs)

1st: Boulden's Rumhill Bossy Boots JW - Chocolate excellent colour, soft kind expression, lovely moulded head, very well balanced outline, in excellent condition with good coat and tail. Moved very well. 

2nd: Baron's Landebec Crazy In Love - Good type with stronger head but kind expression, in good condition, strong quarters and moved well.

Class 25: Post Graduate Bitch (12 entries)

1st: Hopkinson's Irislave O'Revolution at Rocheby - Compact Black with a beautiful head and expression. Excelled in true Labrador type. Well laid back shoulder and well balanced throughout. In great condition finished with good coat and tail. Moved with drive and true. Pushing the two top winners hard today. One to watch l am sure.

2nd: Rawlinson's Halshimoor Perfect Pitch at Shanorrell - Classic type, lovely kind head and expression, with a lovely outline. Much the same a 1st and moved very well but coat on the blow today. Another lovely Class.

Class 26: Limit Bitch (20 entries)- (10 abs)

1st: Campbell's Binnaig Buppsala JW - This Black was in Top form today. Perfect head and the kindest of eyes on this simply stunning girl. Clean neckline and well laid back shoulders leading to strong compact short coupled body and well angulated quarter from which she just moved round the ring with style and ease. In the best of coats and a true otter tail to top it all off. Could not be happier than to award her 2nd CC and wish her all the very best for the future. Bitch CC and Res Best in Show.

2nd: Leith-Ross & Gilroy's Shork's Homecoming De La Vallee De Chevre WGC - Another lovely head and eye and melting expression on this very compact and well balanced girl in good hard condition. Moved with drive and true. Quality coat and otter tail. Again lovely Class.

Class 27: Open Bitch (6 entries)- (1 abs)

Mixed sizes in the class but good class.

1st: Evan's R CH Eminala Star Struck Farnfield - Scopey Yellow with beautiful head and kind eye. Well placed shoulder and overall solid outline with good quarters and good sound movement. 

2nd: Dawson's Wynfaul Carbon Copy at Beskerby JW - Lovley kind eye and moulded head. Good front, legs and feet, overall quality bitch in good coat and tail. Moved really well. 

Class 28: Special Beginners (5 entries)- (1 abs)

1st: Broughton's Lapema Mustang Kati at Brandelle - Placed 4th in Junior. Lovely head and expression on this cobby if not a little over weight bitch. Nice type and moved well.

2nd: Pattison's Pattilands MS Independent - Scopey bitch with sound construction. Nice head but a little too round in eye. In good condition and covered the ground well.

Class 29: Veteran Bitch (11 entries) - (3 abs)

Lovely Class.

1st: Charlton's SH.CH. Foxrush Spun Gold JW - This 10 year old certainly defies her age. In top form. Beautiful kind head and eye, well placed shoulder and sound deep chest leading the good strong quarter from which she moved steady and true. In good coat and condition. Just lovely type.  Best Veteran In Show.

2nd: Wood's Sundyke Secret Steps - Lovely head on this 8 year old black, Short coupled and in good condition throughout, sound and true on the move. Really good type.

Class 30: Working Bitch (2 entries)

1st Hodge's CH Naiken Etoile (AI) - Lovely  solid dark chocolate 6 year old in top form. Build correctly from head to toe. The kindest of heads and eye correct front construction, deep chest with plenty of heart room, in super condition and moved with style and ease. 

2nd: Leith-Ross & Gilroy's Shork's Homecoming De La Vallee De Chevre WGC - placed 2nd in Limit.
