BOSTON CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW
CHINESE CRESTEDS
JUDGE: MRS L LANE (KONISHIKI)
I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to judge Chinese Cresteds at this well organised prestigious show. The dogs present were of good type and all had good temperaments. I have purposely not shown for a few of the champ shows so that I could judge unbiased. I like a sound moving crested, not too big and with a good breed type. With my two top winners, I achieved this. Two typey dogs of the correct size and sound as a pound. Standing together they looked like two peas in a pod.

1. Peppett’s Karamouche Top Hat N Tails. 7 month black and white puff of a size I like. Lovely strong ears, nice scissor bite, dark eye, not too heavy veil coat, a beautiful shape and moved relaxed and very soundly with good drive and reach. A beautiful topline as he glided around the ring. Hare foot. Still just a baby and a little apprehensive but eventually chilled and showed his true beauty. Handled so well.
2. Watsons Karamouche Pandamonium. Litter brother to (1) above. Another lovely puff, such a sound puppy, good pigment, mouth, hare foot, great temperament, beautiful coat, so well presented, moved out soundly and had plenty of reach and drive. Slightly larger than his brother but a very nice puppy. Handled so well. I am sure these two will change places at the shows.

1. Bodens Ravanas Miracle Avokaduh for Gemdar (Imp Cze). (BP) PG4. This small mahogany/cream hairless boy really caught my eye. So nicely balanced and tail up and happy going around. Nice conformation having good chest, great topline on the move, not too overdone head, beautiful skin, strong ears, nice mouth, hare foot. Good on the table and handled well.
2. Parker’s Doonbeg Mahogany Magic at Khatira. I loved both of these boys. Finer than 1 above, this mahogany/cream boy had excellent skin, good pigment, good mouth, nice expression, hare foot, moved with real drive – very elegant young man. Handled well.
3. Peppett’s Karamouch Top Hat N Tails

1. Peacocks Pufflepaws Yes Sir Can Boogi with Iapea. A very smart 17 month old young man, just the size I like, great topline and shape moving around. A really pretty boy with a very good veil coat, well presented and handled. Moving soundly and with gusto for his handler. I really liked this puff boy who stood so well on the table being gone over.
2. Simms Chundecrests My Love Romeo for Maishua. 17 month old black and white boy larger than (1) above but still a very nicely made boy. Good head, Beautifully presented and another with a good mouth, hare foot, level topline with great nature. Moved effortlessly around the ring and handled so well.
3. Seed’s Chundecrests Sir Valentino. Litter brother to 2 above. I just preferred the shape and size of his brother.

1. Piper’s Split Decision for Zanjero JW. 23 month old mahogany/cream h/l boy with a decent head, good mouth, dark pigment, strong ears. Lovely front and topline when stood, he moved ok, I liked his type and size. Can see how he got his JW.
2. Seed’s Chundecrests Sir Valentino. A very happy b/w puff boy on the larger size. Nice head, pigment, eye and mouth. Good front and when moving really drove out. Coat was in great condition, so vibrant but just needs taming a bit.
3. Ashcrofts Smooth as they Come

1. Seed’s Chundecrest Sir Lucifer. 2.5 year b/w true hl boy. I simply love the true hairless and this boy was a great example of a true h/l. Limited but enough furnishings, great skin, wonderful shape standing and topline, he moved out so well and reminded me of a “little pony” going around.
2. Edmonds Akdeniz Altair (imp Pol). 15 month old spotted h/l boy, much heavier than (1) but still moved well. Could have shown himself off better today. Standing he presented a beautiful outline. Heavier furnishings than (1) above. Good skin. Two nice boys but as you know I love the true hl.

I can see why he got his JW.

3. Moyes Bryelis The Star Man JW.

1. Crow’s Ch Kojiki’s The Look of Love at Casacavallo JW. (CC & BOB). 3 year old mahogany and white hl boy. Just the size I like. Small but not feminine in any way. Expressive head with good chiselling, dark eye and well set ears. To say he has good conformation would be an under-statement. He is sound as a pound. Moves with drive and reach, carries topline and tailset as he moves and looks the real picture. As always from this kennel, handled to perfection.
2. Koot Van Oosten’s Concrete Clouds Sieger. (RCC) Slightly larger than (1) but a very elegant male. Showed slightly apprehensively today but in the challenge seemed to have settled. I liked his overall type. He had a good length of neck and good lay of shoulder. When he got going he moved with great reach and drive and kept his topline on the move. Sympathetically handled. His type and conformation won him the RCC.
3. Seed’s Chundecrest Sir Lucifer.

1. Moyes, Shaw, Hunter-Ryan & Punton’s Bryelis Oh I Wannabe Famous JW. (BCC) - I loved this 2 year old mahogany and white hl girl. I loved her size, very expressive head with well furnished strong ears, beautiful soft skin, length of neck and conformation. She was just the right weight with a nice waist and good angles front and rear. I had no idea that the handler wasn’t the owner and for a dog being shown by someone she didn’t know she was so calm. Took everything in her stride. When she moved she really came into her own striding out and with a happy joyful attitude.

1. Proctor, Proctor and McGowan’s Pufflepaws Prosecco Please. RCC . I have shown at the same time as this 5 year old true hl girl and always liked her. Today she looked the best I have seen her. Beautiful feminine head with dark pigment, correct shaped eyes and strong well set ears. Straightest of fronts, lovely length of neck, level topline, well laid shoulder and rear. She never stopped showing today and moved around the ring enjoying every minute. I had no hesitation in awarding her the RCC.
2. Kirkwood’s Ch Bryelis Star Attraction JW. 2 year old girl who had great construction. Heavier set than (1). Nice head, profuse furnishings, great skin, level topline, nice angles front and rear. Handled well. I can understand how she got her title. She moved well around the ring showing reach and drive.

1. Dowsett’s Ch Doonbeg Reach for the Sky Tteswood JW Sh Ch VW. BVIB. Was this beautiful powder puff girl really 11 years old! Still looked a baby. Immaculate veil coat, wonderful chiselled feminine head, strong ears, darkest of pigment and still having most of her teeth. She still had it floating around the ring keeping her topline. I really loved her.
2. Knowles Janchi Let me Entertain You JW. Another 11 year old. Mahogany and White hairless, carrying a bit too much weight together but a lovely size and pleasant head and great skin. Seemed a little overawed with the day but still performed well for her handler.
