Griffon Bruxellois

Judge: Miss L Tarabad (Khatibi)

My first time awarding CC’s in the breed and I was delighted with such a nice entry at a show so far south. I throroughly enjoyed the entry and had plenty of dogs that I would happily have awarded a CC to (which isn’t the case in many breeds these days)

PD (4,1)

1st:SWINGE, Miss M & PRICE, Miss Ffion Marquant Remember Me. Very promising r/r nearing the end of his puppy career but more than ready to take on the junior classes. Lovely size and shape with good neck and shoulders, short level back, good spring of rib and well angulated rear. Such a lovely face with neat ears, dark eyes, short muzzle of good width with good turn up and such a cheeky expression. Moved so well in all directions holding his neat outline perfectly, confident and ever so happy. In harsh jacket with plenty of substance for his size. BP.

2nd: OMRE, Miss Nathalie Admiravel Feeling Bullish. Very sound r/r who is a little bigger than 1 and didn’t always make the best of himself on the stack however on the move pulled himself together well holding a level topline and covering the ground with a sound, easy gait. Well constructed with good front and rear angulation, good spring of rib and substance. Large rounded head with dark expressive eyes and good turnup.

3rd: PRICE, Miss Ffion Cari & BURNS, Mrs Laura Marquant New Order. I must mention this lovely puppy, litter brother to 1 who’s quality is obvious, he just would not settle enough to make the most of himself, hopefully he was just having a bad day!

JD (2)

1st: ROBERTS, Mrs Ktj Pierre Cardin Bargest Vonici (imp Pol). Very smart r/r who was really on his toes. Small and squarely built with super substance for his size, arched neck, lovely chest and ribbing, short level back, good front and rear assembly, good bone and feet. Large round head with well spaced large dark eyes, short wide muzzle with good turn up, neat ears and alert expression. Moved with such a smart, effortless action, full of confidence and holding his neat outline firm. Still some maturing to do but really made the best of himself in the challenge to take the DCC.

2nd: MARTIN, Miss Alice & SPITTLE, Miss Julia Kahraman Daydreamer Darwin For Rhodon (Imp Nor). Another of a nice size and shape with good substance and presented in good coat. Could be better in front but has good rear angulation and uses himself well on the move with a smart action in profile. Pleasing head and expression with dense pigment and dark eyes.

LD (2,1)

1st: CARPENTER, Miss J Beauborne Ray Ban At Xyliabud. 2 yr r/s of nice type, cobby and squarely built with firm topline, good chest and ribbing and well set and carried tail, could stand straighter in front. Nice head and alert expression with dark eyes, definite stop, good nostrils and prominent chin. Moved freely with good reach and drive, accurate out and back. Such a lovely temperament.

 OD (4) Lovely class.

1st: ALLEN, Mrs C & SELBY, Mr M & WHITEHEAD, Miss F Ch Zilcan Monkey Business. r/r nearing 3 years old and after topping this class I did think he’d be my cc winner. Such a well balanced outline, square and cobby with a large masculine head and typical expression. Good neck and shoulders, deep wide chest, well sprung ribs, short loin and strong rear. Large rounded head with neat ears, dark eyes, good turnup and width to muzzle. Moved with the best reach and drive in the class, carrying his tail well and maintaining a good topline. It was very close in the challenge but he just wasn’t making as much of himself as the younger dog so had to settle for the RCC.

2nd:DONNELLAN, Mrs Y J & ROBERTS, Mrs K. Ch Kinder Surprise Rimarosa Vonici (imp Pl) Immaculately presented r/r who appealed greatly in head properties with such a cheeky expression, lovely large dark eyes, short wide muzzle and good turnup. Short, cobby body but a little short in neck for balance. Moved well with good drive from the rear, just a touch close away. In good coat and condition, handled well.

3rd: SWINGE, Miss M Balthazar Supersonic ShCEx

VD (2,1)

1st:SWINGE, Miss M Ch Harpersband Case In Point At Balthazar (Imp Rus) One I have met previously and at 9.5 years old he’s still in superb condition and was easily one of the best moving dogs in the entry. I wouldn’t want him any bigger but he is well balanced and typical in outline with plenty of substance, arched neck and a firm level topline. Well angulated fore and aft allowing him to move with lovely reach and drive, accurate out and back, carrying himself proudly around the ring. Masculine head, round and large with dense pigment, short muzzle, dark round eyes and good turn up. A real credit to his owners. BV and later took Veteran Group 4, well done.

 PB (4)

1st: DONNELLAN, Mrs Y J & ROBERTS, Mrs K. Vonici Vanity. Very cobby little b&t/r who is fairly square in outline and has a great attitude. Good front and rear assembly, lovely chest and ribbing, firm topline and high set tail. Gorgeous little face with well spaced dark round eyes, good turn up and short, wide muzzle. Moved with confidence, good out and back and covering the ground well in profile. In quality coat and super condition. Close call for bp but the male was just a little squarer, nevetherless and lovely puppy who is sure to do well as she matures. BPB.

2nd: SWINGE, Miss M Balthazar Shake It Off. Younger half sister to 1 and not quite as forward in development at the moment but equally as delightful in temperament. Soundly constructed with good neck and topline, squarely built with balanced front and rear angulation, just needs time to fill out. Correctly shaped head with lovely large dark eyes and typical expression. Moved well.

3rd: ALLEN, Mrs C & SELBY, Mr M & WHITEHEAD, Miss F Zilcan Granny Got Yagunsout TAF

JB (2)

1st: 2695 WOOD, Miss Lisa Delightbull Lady In Red. 15month r/r with nice balance to her outline, enough neck, deep chest and well sprung ribs, good turn of stifle and hocks well let down. Feminine head with nice eyes, open nostrils, ears could be smaller and could have a little more turnup. Moved smartly covering the ground fairly well.

2nd: 2675 HERSHAW, Mrs T A Beauborne Vanda Via Tremaloy. Similar size to 1 with good chest and ribbing, cobby with good bone and feet. Pretty head with good turnup and dark eyes. Unfortunately wasn’t very happy in the ring so didn’t make much of herself especially on the move and wouldn’t use tail. Perhaps a little hormonal!?

 LB (6,1)

1st: 2674 GUY, Mr D Donzeata Royal Elite. A really lively little r/r who made me smile each time I looked at her cheeky face! Small and ultra feminine but still with strength and substance to her frame. Square and cobby with deep chest, good ribbing, strong loin and short level back with tail set and carried correctly. Lovely front and rear assembly and super movement to match. Her head is so pretty with beautiful eyes, small ears, short wide muzzle with good turnup and chin. Her over exuberance doesn’t always help her make the best of herself but her quality is undeniable and she did more than enough to top this class and later the RCC behind her more sensible sister!

2nd: 2667 BARNEY, Mrs D M & SPITTLE, Miss J Cilleine Quintessential JW. Another r/r of super quality, just a little more of her all through than 1 but still maintains good balance with arched neck, straight front, firm topline and strong rear. Beautiful head and expression, large and round with dark eyes, dense pigment, wide muzzle and prominent chin. Sound and true on the move but not quite as good as 1 in profile. Close decision.

3rd: 2685 ROBERTS, Mrs Ktj Zilcan Bubblelicious

OB (7,3)

1st: 2672 GUY, Mr D Donzeata Royal Etiquette. Seemingly saved the best for last! Even after finding some lovely bitches (and dogs) when this one walked into the ring she immediately outshone them all. A r/s who presents the most beautifully balanced outline, square and cobby, arched neck, wide, deep chest, short level back, impressive front and rear assembly, well set tail and strong rear with hocks well let down. If her super construction wasn’t impressive enough her gorgeous head made her simply irresistible! Round and feminine with moderate width between good ears, short muzzle with neat lips, super turn up, open nostrils and lovely eyes. She looks as impressive on the move as she does on the stack, the best profile movement on the day driving effortlessly around the ring with head held proudly and topline firm, totally accurate out and back. In gleaming smooth coat and super condition, there was absolutely no doubt that she should take the CC & BOB. I was delighted to see her placed 3rd in a quality group at the end of the day, congratulations.

2nd: 2677 HICK, Mr Dale Datiro Tigger Point. r/r a touch bigger than 1 with good neck and shoulders, deep chest, well ribbed back to strong loin and well angulated rear. Nice head and alert expression, dark eyes, dense pigment, high set ears and short, wide muzzle. Moved well with an easy action and good drive from behind. Presented in nice harsh coat and handled to an advantage. Close up for the rcc but just preferred the neater shape of the limit winner.
