Judge: Miss L Tarabad (Khatibi)

Always one of my favourite breeds to judge and although not a huge entry I thoroughly enjoyed sorting them out and found plenty of quality in the entry. Without exception temperaments were fabulous, overall I found more bitches with heads and expressions that appealed but felt the dogs had the edge in construction and movement. I thought the cc winners complimented each other very nicely with the dog really on his toes and holding his outline just a little better in the final challenge, I was delighted to see the BP top a super Puppy group and the BV was just an absolute delight it was a shame there was no veteran group for her to strut her stuff in! Thank you to all the exhibitors who made the journey, you were all great fun and it was lovely to see such a great atmosphere around the ring with plenty of support for the winners.

Veteran Dog (1)

1. Sephina The Pickpocket (Mrs G Hall) Delightful 8 year old gentleman, small and compact with good chest and ribbing, well laid shoulders, straight front with good bone, sound rear and high set tail. His head gives away his age but still had lovely dark eyes, good nostrils, wide jaw and sweet expression. Moved soundly and steadily holding a decent outline. A credit to his owner. BVD.

Minor Puppy Dog (4,1)

1. Roxmarr Pimms Royale at Conquell (Ms H G Linnett). Quality 7 month baby with lots to like. Neat shape with good topline, high set tail, good chest and ribbing for age with legs well under body, good bone and feet and plenty of substance for size. Beautiful head and expression with defined working, dark round eyes, short blunt muzzle with good width of jaw and dense pigment. Lovely on the move holding his outline firm. Beautiful fine coat and great attitude.

2. Mopszwawa’s Heartbreaker for Joshotto (Miss A J Butterstone) Another nice baby with lots to like. Plenty of substance for his size and age, strong neck into good shoulders, good depth of chest and spring of rib, tight curl, just needs to firm in topline. Large, round head with good working, dense pigment, short muzzle and good width of jaw. Moved happily but didn’t quite have the attitude of 1.

3. Roxmar Right Black at Ya at Tybec (Mrs C Watson)

Class 1855. Puppy Dog (3)

1. Taftazini Fluffy Ruffles (Miss H & Mr D Attwood & Taylor). Just 12 months and no denying his quality. Such a nicely balanced outline with proud head carriage, firm topline, tight, high set curl, correct length of leg, deep chest and super ribbing. Plenty of substance in a small package, super bone and well muscled throughout. His head and expression are delightful, such a cheeky expression from his large dark eyes with neat ears, defined working, short blunt muzzle and wide underjaw. Very smart on the move as always from this kennel, positive and accurate and carrying himself with such self confidence for one so young. I had awarded his mother the RCC and grandmother the CC the last time I judged so it was no surprise that he appealed greatly. He obviously has a little more maturing to do and was full of youthful exuberance but he couldn’t be ignored in the challenge and took a well deserved RCC, I doubt it’ll be long before he’s collecting the big green cards! He won BP with some to spare and I was delighted to see him top the Toy Puppy Group later in the day. Congratulations, what a way to end a puppy career! RDCC, BP, Puppy Group 1.

2. - Taftazini Tussie Mussie (Mrs Y R & Mrs R A Mitchell & Willis) Very similar type of puppy and I found out afterwards is the litter brother to 1. Again, very impressive on the move as his sound construction suggests. Sweet face with good working, beautiful dark eyes and dense pigment. Just doesn’t have the ring presence of his brother yet.

3. Kelbrend Mister Marmalade (Mrs B & Mr B Kelsall)

Junior Dog (2)

1. Dynatos Marvellous Maximus (Mr D Marsh) Just 12 months old of a good size and substance presenting a nicely balanced outline with strong arched neck, good angulation fore and aft, firm topline and high set tail. Had the better head here with good nostrils, large round eyes, neat ears and nicely finished muzzle. In lovely condition and fine coat, moving happily with a typical gait.

2. Felice Vincenza (Miss D R Bailey) 16 month old with pleasant head and intelligent expression. Sound construction throughout but could have a little more neck and curl could be tighter. Moved well but couldn’t match the outline of 1.

Yearling Dog (4)

1. Conquell Morning Sun (Mrs G Hall) Small, cobby boy almost 2 years old who made a good account of himself to top this class. Nice front assembly, level topline and well angulated rear. Sweet face with defined working, neat ears, dark eyes and short, blunt muzzle. Moved very smartly, accurate out and back and holding a good outline in profile.

2. Haselorhill First Edition from Mopszawawa JW (Mr D & Miss G O'leary & Rutherford) Close up but was rather excited and tended to ruin his expression which was a shame. Similar in size and shape to 1, could have a little more angulation in front but has plenty of substance for his size, correct length of leg, good chest and ribbing and well set, tight curl. Masculine head with lovely dark round eyes and dense pigment. Moved freely.

3. Weaverham Toodarn Hot from Snugglepug (Ms E Arnold-Stronge)

Limit Dog (5,1)

1. Nijacpugs Hot An Bothered (Mrs J J Truelove) Strongly built, masculine dog handled and presented to perfection who won the class with some to spare. Square and cobby with plenty of substance, good bone, broad chest and well sprung ribs, firm topline, high set tail and strong rear. Large round head with good working, large round eyes which could be just a touch darker, short square muzzle with decent width of underjaw, so attentive to his handler and really showing off his lovely expression. Super on the move which really gave him the edge here, sound and accurate with typical roll, all the while maintaining his lovely outline.

2. Conquell Cabinet of Clowns (Mrs J.a. Long) A nice 2yr who couldn’t quite match the balance and substance of 1 but still presents a pleasing, typical outline with good neck into level topline, good ribbing, well angulated rear, strong bone and good feet. Well balanced head with neat ears, defined working, good nostrils and dense pigment. Moved well carrying himself proudly.

3. Hugapug Guy Fawkes at Sandigara (Mrs S Makepeace)

Open Dog (5) Nice class of quality dogs with little to split the top 3.

1. Ch Judamie Eltons Sun JW (Ms J & Mr D Dawson-Payne & Mousley) Mature and beautifully conditioned 2.5yr fawn who appealed greatly for balance and type which is no surprise as he is very much like his sire who I had previously awarded a cc to. Squarely built, compact and cobby with super substance and bone, strong arched neck into lovely shoulders, straight front with broad chest, super ribbing, firm level back, high set curl, well angulated rear with legs well under body and standing on good feet. The best head and expression in the male entry, large, masculine and round with gorgeous large dark eyes, plenty of working, dense pigment, open nostrils, short square muzzle, wide jaw and nicely finished lips. Very impressive profile movement and carriage, head held proudly, topline firm covering the ground well with a typical action. I thought he was super, beautiful head, sound movement, plenty of dog in a small package and a great attitude so it didn’t take long to give him the nod for the CC. He was still really on his toes when he returned for the final challenge and just made a little more of himself than the lovely bitch so clinched the win! DCC, BOB.

2. Ch Eivisah Sonnentanz JW (Mrs G & Mr S & Mrs A & Mrs L Pike & Pike & Hill & Mallinson) Another quality champion who was unlucky to meet 1. Small and compact with good bone and substance for size, ample reach of neck into a firm topline, good chest and ribbing, well balanced length of leg, good feet and strong, well angulated rear. Beautiful head with plenty of work, neat ears, dark lustrous eyes, short blunt muzzle with good width of jaw and open nostrils. Moved smartly holding his outline in profile, accurate out and back with typical roll. I called him back to challenge for the rcc and he was very close up.

3. Ch Eastonite Porthos JW (Miss A J Ellis) One I have really liked in the past and still admire greatly but he just wasn’t making the most of himself on the day which was a real shame.

Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog (3)

1. Sephina The Pickpocket (Mrs G Hall) See VD. He was better coming towards and had better eyes and expression than 2.

2. Conquell Can We Pretend (Mrs G Hall) Not quite the neat, balanced outline of 1 but good for size and substance with strong bone, broad chest and well sprung ribs. Large, masculine head with good working and round eyes. Moved ok.

3. Taftazini Pastuchovii (Mrs Y R & Mrs R A Mitchell & Willis)

Veteran Bitch (3)

1. Ch Rhodenash Stella Dreams of Eivisah JW (Mrs G & Mr S Pike) Very spritely little lady who obviously didn’t read the memo telling her she's old enough to know better!! Small, sturdy and in well muscled condition with a neat, balanced outline, firm topline, high set tail, straight front and parallel rear. Such a pretty, cheeky face with beautiful eyes and expression, good working, short muzzle with good width of jaw and neatly finished lips. Powered round the ring with her head held proudly and outline firm, there’s no doubt she loves her time in the ring and enjoys being centre of attention! She demanded the BV rosette and got exactly what she wanted! Such a credit to her owner. BV

2. Popinjay Message to Martha (Mr E A & Mrs P J Johnson) Similar size 8 yr old, ultra compact with good ribbing and short loin, tail could be set and carried better. Very sweet face with round eyes, dense pigment, good working and open nostrils. Moved happily.

3. Zobear Bluebell Dancer of Rosewitch (Mrs Y R & Mrs R A Mitchell & Willis)

Class 1863. Minor Puppy Bitch (6)

1. Mopszawawa’s Wild Love with Potbelli (Miss H & Miss G & Mrs C Rutherford) 8 month baby who was the most accurate on the move here and held a nice outline as she circled the ring. Small and feminine but with good substance and bone, ample reach of neck, good front and rear assembly with legs well under her body, chest and ribbing developing well for age, topline just needs to firm up a little. Very pretty face with nice ears, dark round eyes, defined working, good nostrils and alert expression. A quality puppy who should mature well. BPB.

2. Roxmarr Diamond Fizz at Conquell (Ms H G Linnett) Pretty baby again a nice size and shape with good substance and bone for size, lovely chest and ribbing, well angulated rear with tail set high, just needs to firm in topline. Well proportioned head with appealing expression from her large dark eyes, dense pigment, short square muzzle and good width of jaw. Moved well just didn’t quite hold her outline as well as 1 in profile but I’m sure they will change places as they mature.

3. Croftren Come On over (Miss H Reynolds)

Puppy Bitch (2)

1. Croftren Glorious Grace (Miss H Reynolds) 7 month well schooled puppy with the most beautiful head and expression ( which is typical of this kennel). Small, feminine and squarely built with good topline and high set tail, good chest and ribbing for age, enough substance and bone with good angulation fore and aft. Prettiest of heads with glorious eyes, defined working, dense pigment and short, well finished muzzle with good width of jaw and neat lips. Happy and positive on the move covering the ground well in profile.

2. Kelbrend Peach Preserve (Mrs B & Mr B Kelsall) 10month old, nice size and square in outline with well balanced length of leg, balanced front and rear angulation and decent substance for size. Feminine head with neat ears, good nostrils, working could be more defined. Moved freely, tail carriage could be bettter.

Junior Bitch (3) Lovely class with all 3 having much to like.

1. Rhodenash Kandoo Khaos with Calaquendi (Mrs A & Miss L C Hill) Exciting youngster who impressed greatly for balance and type. Square and cobby with correct length of leg, short level back with tight, high set curl, well angulated fore and aft with straight front and parallel rear, strong legs and good feet. Feminine head with the darkest of eyes, good working, neat ears, short square muzzle and good underjaw. Moved with purpose, accurate out and back and covering the ground well in profile, maintaining her lovely outline at all times. In super condition and fine glossy coat. Really was close up for the RCC and I should think with a little more maturity she’ll gain her title with little trouble.

2. Judamie Le Magnifique (Mr E & Ms J Eddery & Dawson-Payne) Similar size to 1 and again with good substance and bone, standing with legs well under her body, straight in front and parallel behind with well sprung ribs, decent topline, tail set high and well angulated rear. Well proportioned head with fairly dark eyes, good pigment, short muzzle and wide jaw. Moved freely, better out and back than 3 and carrying herself proudly in profile. Not long out of puppy so still has plenty of maturing to do.

3. Dynatos Majestic Meridius Croftren JW (Miss H Reynolds)

Yearling Bitch (2)

1st Place, 4495 - Croftren Going for Gold (Mr D Marsh) Pretty fawn who held the better outline here. Lovely front assembly with good shoulders and upper arm, super topline with tail set and carried well, enough neck to give a proud head carriage, well off for bone and standing on good feet. Large, round head with enough work, beautiful large dark eyes, neat ears and ok nostrils. Moving well, very nice out and back and covers the ground well in profile.

2nd Place, 4488 - Conquell Charm Offensive (Ms H G Linnett) Only 14months so not quite the maturity of 1 yet still needing to firm up a little all through. Nevertheless a lovely type and appealed for size and shape with enough substance, good chest and ribbing, short loin and well developed rear. Sweet, feminine head with dark eyes and intelligent expression. Moved smartly with a typical action, lovely temperament.

Post Graduate Bitch (6,2)

1. Kelbrend Dreamy Duchess (Mrs B & Mr B Kelsall). 2.5yr old who wasn’t always stood to an advantage but on the move she really got it together and presented a lovely outline with good neck, topline and tailset, broad chest and well sprung ribs, short cobby body and good bone. Pleasant head and expression with nice eyes, ok nostrils and good width of jaw.

2. Myter Creme Caramel at Balthazar (Mr J & Mrs S & Miss M & Mrs G Swinge & Swinge & Swinge & Saffer) Nice size fawn who like 1 wasn’t always making the most of herself. Good for size and substance with strong bone, arched neck into good shoulders, well ribbed back to short loin and sound rear. Attractive head and expression with beautiful large dark eyes, short blunt muzzle and good underjaw. Moved soundly.

3. Blacobby Lady Macbeth (Mrs J & Mr R Coulter)

Limit Bitch (7,1)

1. Afterglow Dream Topping at Roesclan JW (Ms R F Ellenor) Very attentive showgirl who was always stood to an advantage with her eyes firmly on her handler! Great substance for her size with strong bone, in well muscled condition with a lovely coat. Very nicely made, fairly square with super front and rear angulation, firm topline with tail set high, ample reach of neck, broad chest and well sprung ribs. I loved her head and soft expression with such beautiful large dark eyes, dense pigment, defined working, open nostrils and short square muzzle with strong jaw. Impressive on the move, accurate out and back and holding a super outline in profile, covering the ground with ease.

2. Afterglow Dreamsicle with Potbelli (Miss H & Miss G & Mrs C Rutherford). Similar to 1 especially in head qualities and I see now that they are litter sisters! This one a touch smaller and more compact, balanced in outline but not quite the front of 1. Again a beautiful head and expression with lovely eyes, good working, short muzzle and good width of jaw. Moved freely with typical action.

3. Cedilla Cherry Jubilee at Sandigara (Mrs S Makepeace)

Open Bitch (6,2)

1. Ch Bilohka Dawn Patrol with Potbelli JW (Miss H & Miss G & Mrs C Rutherford) I thought this 2yr olds movement was the most impressive of the day, totally accurate in all directions, covering the ground so well in profile with head held proudly, topline firm, typical roll behind and plenty of attitude! Small, cobby and fairly square with strong arched neck into lovely shoulders, well developed chest and ribbing, short loin, firm topline and high set tail. Plenty of substance for her size with strong bone and good feet, legs well under her body, straight in front and parallel behind. Beautiful large, round head with dark lustrous eyes, plenty of work, open nostrils, short square muzzle, wide jaw and nicely finished lips. A super quality bitch who didn’t have to work too hard to take the CC here.

2. Ch Bubbapug Summer Sundae JW (Mrs Gail & Mr John Saffer & Swinge) Different type and not quite the ‘look at me attitude’ of 1 but instead a very sound, correct type of pug with little to dislike and the more I looked the more I liked! A touch smaller and more compact with lovely neck and topline, broad chest, well ribbed back to short loin well angulated rear with tight curl set high. Cheeky face, so feminine and pretty with nice eyes, neat ears, enough work, good nostrils and strong jaw. Sound and accurate on the move, has decent reach in front and uses her rear well, all the while holding her outline firm and head high. A really nice example of the breed with great attitude and presented in super coat and condition. RBCC

3. Ch Afterglow I Dream of Jeannie at Lizlanmor JW (Miss H & Miss E Reynolds & Morley)
