A lovely entry with only 1 absentee and plenty of quality dogs worthy of the top awards.
Veteran Dog (2)
1. Ch Vardenais Lumos VW (Mr S Parker) Quality 8yr old who could still easily be a contender for top honours. Compact and elegant with strong neck into a firm topline and well set and carried tail. Straight front, well sprung ribs, strong, well angulated rear with good bone and feet. Masculine head with alert expression, small, high set ears and dark eyes. Moved well, accurate out and back, holding a nice outline in profile. In gleaming condition and handled to an advantage. BVD
2. Ch Jaegerson Dress to Impress JW (Ms S James). Another quality 8 year old who really was enjoying himself! Well balanced in outline with good neck into short, sloping back, correctly set and carried tail and well angulated rear. Head of good proportions with dark eyes, strong jaw and good ears which he could have used a little more to enhance his expression. Moved well in profile, just a bit wide coming towards.
Minor Puppy Dog (2)
1. Alcarazita Conrad Gates (Miss L & Mrs K Soper) Very happy baby who held a pleasing outline both standing and on the move. Strong neck into sound front assembly, good chest and ribbing for age, firm topline and well set and carried tail. Nice head and expression with dark oval eyes, dense pigment, strong muzzle and jaw. Moved happily, needs to strengthen behind.
2. Ymar Tamborine Man (Miss C A & Mrs B M Hewitt). A promising puppy but was lacking a little confidence so wasn’t making the most of himself. Nice size and balance to his outline, compact and elegant with arched neck, short back, sound rear, tail carriage could be better. Lovely head and expression with well set, small ears, flat skull, dark eyes and strong jaw. Moved well but just wasn’t settled enough to do himself justice.
Puppy Dog (1)
1. Jaegerson Kingsman (Mrs W & Mr J & Ms S Urwin & Urwin & James). With so many quality adults that I would have happily awarded the CC to, I really didn’t think I’d be handing this puppy the big green card but I just couldn’t ignore him! Compact, sturdy and elegant with such a nicely balanced outline which he shows off so well. Super neck, topline and tail, good chest and ribbing, short loin and lovely sweep of stifle. A really handsome, well proportioned head with super ears, the darkest of eyes, strong muzzle and jaw, dense pigment and such an alert expression. It was when he moved that he really couldn’t be ignored circling the ring with super hackney action, holding his outline firm with head carried proudly. Handled and presented superbly and no doubt will gain his title as soon as he’s old enough! DCC, BP.
Limit Dog (2)
1. Vardenais Hot As Hell (Miss A A Coull). Not yet 2 years old and I’m sure the best is yet to come with this youngster. Another presenting a compact and well balanced outline with sound front and rear assembly, firm topline and well set and carried tail. Well balanced head with flat skull, high set ears, dark oval eyes and keen expression. When his mind was on the job he really moved well, lovely out and back and with a nice action in profile. Just has a little more maturing to do in body (and mind) and should then gain his title with the usual luck.
2. Dobenar Leonidas (Miss L & Mrs K Soper) Well marked b/t with lovely temperament. Nice head with dark eyes and well set and used ears. Soundly made throughout with pleasing outline and decent front and rear angulation allowing him to move well but couldn’t match the action of 1.
Open Dog (6) What a super class, quite honestly the 5 placed could have stood in any order on a different day and I would have been more than happy to award any of them a CC!
1. Ch Adurus Sundance Kid for Catamyrann JW (Miss C A & Mrs B M Hewitt) This smart red boy caught my eye immediately for his super smart outline, squarely built, compact and elegant with arched neck, super topline and tail carriage. Good chest, well sprung ribs, sturdy and well muscled with lovely front and rear assembly, good bone and feet. Masculine head with neat, high set ears, dark eyes and strong jaw. Moved with purpose holding his outline firm, accurate out and back and looking a picture in profile. Very close up in the challenge but ultimately had to settle for the RCC.
2. Ch Jaegerson The Edge JW (Ms S James) Was very close here between 2 and 3 with the final up and back giving this smart b/t the edge! Nice for size and type with well proportioned head, flat skull, high set ears, dark eyes and keen expression. Strong arched neck into good shoulders, straight front, tight elbows, well sprung ribs and well angulated rear. Moved freely holding a good outline in profile, very good out and back. Presented in first class order.
3. Alcum Tee Rex (Mrs R Mitchell)
Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog (1)
1. Dobenar Leonidas (Miss L & Mrs K Soper) (see LD)
Veteran Bitch (4) A delightful class of old ladies! Each one an absolute credit to their owners.
1. Ch Krieger's Dark 'n' Delicious JW ShCM ShCEx (Miss R Stracey) 8 yr b/t dam of the bob winner who, like the VD could easily still take home top honours! Small, compact and feminine but still sturdy and strong with a proud carriage and such an alert expression. Elegant in outline with super front and rear assembly, short back with correct topline and tail carriage, good bone and feet. Beautiful head and expression with well set and used ears, strong muzzle and jaw and the darkest of eyes. Powered round the ring like a dog half her age with lovely carriage and typical hackney action. BV.
2. Petaz Georgia at Petitpaws VW (Miss V Cox) This 11 yr old was presented in such fit condition and obviously still enjoys her time in the ring! Compact and sturdy with good chest and ribbing, arched neck and strong rear. Well balanced head with strong muzzle, dark eyes, neat ears and alert expression. She was a joy to watch on the move, happy and positive with a lovely hackney action all the while holding her outline well.
3. Keljantzi's Yulianna at Charpin JW (Miss C Westerman)
Puppy Bitch (1)
1. Jaegerson Centrefold (Ms S James) Litter sister to the dcc winner and they are certainly similar! Although she stood alone she could win in any company, already fairly mature for her age and really making the best of herself both standing and on the move. Impressive outline with gracefully arched neck into a short, sloping back, high set tail and well developed rear. Beautiful head of correct proportions with small ears set high on flat skull, strong muzzle and jaw and dark oval eyes. Impressed in profile movement with super carriage and good lift in front. Just needs to firm up behind a little more which gave her brother the edge for bp but certainly a future champion, it really must have been an exciting litter! RCC.
Limit Bitch (2)
1. Alcum Suzie Que (Mrs R Mitchell) Another quality red who will no doubt carry her title in time. Not long out of junior and still has a little maturing to do but when she settled down she moved with an impressive hackney action, accurate out and back and maintaining a firm outline as she circled the ring. Small and sturdy with good angulation fore and aft, arched neck into sloping topline, good bone and feet, tight elbows and good width behind. Attractive head with keen expression from her dark eyes, lovely ears and strong jaw.
2. Vardenais The Heat Is On (Miss A A Coull). A touch smaller all through than 1 but still with lovely balance to her outline, enough substance and good bone. Elegant and feminine with good front and rear assembly, good depth of chest and spring of rib, straight front and parallel rear. Very pretty head, long and narrow with flat skull, high set ears which could be a touch smaller, dark oval eyes and dense pigment. Moved well.
Open Bitch (2)
1. Ch Krieger’s Kiss'n'tell JW (Miss R Stracey). Last time I judged this exquisite B/T was BP and won the rcc at just 8 months old, my critique said at the time “I have no doubt she’ll carry her title” and there certainly was never any doubt! I thought she was the standout choice for the BCC (that’s not to say the others weren’t cc quality because they all were, but she is just extra special!) The ultimate showgirl who was always stood to an advantage and never put a foot wrong on the move, compact and feminine with such a well balanced elegant outline which flows from her arched neck into perfect topline, high set tail and lovely sweep of stifle. Her front assembly in superb with lovely chest and ribbing, straight front with good bone and feet and well developed, parallel rear of good width. Her head is beautiful, feminine but strong with dark sparkling eyes, high set ears and strong jaw. She moved with such a coordinated gait, purposeful with good lift, head held proudly and outline firm, making it look effortless as she powered round the ring. I was so pleased I had the chance to judge her again now fully mature and this time awarded her the BCC (her 35th!) and BOB.
2. Ch Vickstock Wow Aneeva JW (Mr J & Mrs W Urwin) Ultra feminine, smaller red girl who impresses on the stack with her neat, elegant outline, arched neck, short back, well sprung ribs and well angulated rear. Totally attentive to her handler with lovely dark eyes, well set and used ears, dense pigment and strong jaw. Moves well enough with good lift in front, just wasn’t holding her outline as well as 1 in profile, still a worthy champion with plenty to like.
