The Bulldog Cub Incorporated Championship Show

I have been lucky enough to judge some amazing shows both home and abroad including Crufts and the World Show but to judge the Bulldog Incorporated’s 150th anniversary show was extra special to me.

Congratulations to the club on reaching 150 years old.

The Mother Club, the oldest bulldog club in the world should always be respected, regardless of personal differences as the club is bigger than any individual and one all British Bulldoggers should be proud of.

I was thrilled with the great entry and the sportsmanship of all of the exhibitors. The small but very efficient committee put on a great weekend attracting many from overseas as far as Australia. It’s a small world these days and everyone can talk on line but to see so many make the effort to be there was fantastic. I really enjoyed my day and as always you can’t please everyone but you can please yourself and that’s exactly what I did. I judged the dogs on the day looking for breed type and of course health. I had a great line up of bitches challenging for the major honours and I could have honestly given the CC to a lot of them but I chose a bitch that not only excells breed type but moved and showed on the day exceptionally well. In general, I found the breed to be in good shape with some excellent youngsters coming through.

Finally I would like to thank the club and all involved for letting me play a part of your history and making my day very memorable.

Baby Puppy Bitch (3,2)

1st  Griffith’s Meljane Venice Davik r/w 5 months Stood alone.

Nice well balanced puppy and good size for age. Quality head with nice rosed ears, broad flat skull with correct amount of wrinkle, lovely round sound dark eyes. Full acceptable nose roll, broad, black well laid back nose with open nostrils, nice width of fore face and good sweep and width of true underjaw all creating a well balanced head with correct expression. Nice broad shoulder and deep brisket and strong bone to neat feet, excellent ribs. Nice profile with good short back with nice curves in the right places, nice low correct tail and good  muscular hindquarters, moved well for a baby.

Minor Puppy Bitch (10,2)

1st Goodwin’s Britishpride Lilly White w Quality well balanced puppy with lovely broad flat skull already showing a definite furrow dividing her correct fine wrinkle, perfectly set neat rose ears emphasising a lovely length of head. Nice sound dark eyes set wide and low, tidy nose roll and good black nose with open nostrils, good turn of underjaw nice black pigmentation against her pure white colour really enhances her expression. Lovely broad shoulders with elbows well away from her body, deep brisket and strong bone to nice neat feet. Correct length of leg making a good square front.

Nice profile with good curves, good length of neck, short back, good ribs and deep body with good tuck up for age. Nice hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moved well. Looking forward to watching her mature.

2nd Robinson’s Black-Treasure Dogs Sierra naf r/w Another well balanced pup with a pleasing head, clean broad flat skull with good fine wrinkle, well spaced sound dark eyes, full nose roll but not impeding a lovely big black nose with open nostrils, strong fore face for age, nice rounded cheeks, good turn of true underjaw, nice broad shoulders with deep brisket, strong straight bone to good rounded feet. Nice profile with good reach of neck, short coupled back with big ribs, nice healthy tail, strong hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moved well.

Puppy Bitch (7,0)

1st Eaton’s Ricatori Liberata r/w Beautiful puppy, very typical of the standard. Lovely head qualities with a broad flat skull and fine wrinkle correctly placed and carried neat rose ears, well spaced sound dark eyes, acceptable full nose covering a broad black nose with open nostrils, excellent pigmentation, good width and length of fore face, nice sweep of true underjaw all creating a lovely intelligent but stand off expression. Wonderful tacked on front showing the perfect turn of shoulder, deep brisket, the straightest of strong bone down to strong pasterns and excellent feet. Nice profile with good reach of neck and short back with nice curves leading to good healthy tail . Good spring of ribs giving a nice depth of body. Good hindquarters with nice angulation and well defined hocks. Handled to perfection, Moved and showed very well. Best Puppy Bitch

2nd Handley’s Haddaway Single Lady r/w Another lovely puppy, not as mature as first but nice size for age and very flashy, broad flat skull with definite furrow for one so young, good fine wrinkle and well set rose ears, nice sound dark eyes, full but acceptable nose roll, nice black nose and open nostrils, excellent pigmentation, nice turn of true underjaw giving a nice expression. Nice front with enough shoulder for age good brisket, lovely straight bone to neat feet.

Nice profile with good reach of neck nice curves leading to good tail set and healthy tail, good ribs and nice well angulated hindquarters, handled and moved well.

Junior Bitch (9,1)

1st Almazan’s Jaydeefourever Victoria Queen Bulldoggirona b/w 

Just 12 months, nice well balanced type giving away a lot of age size and maturity to others but her quality shone through. Broad, flat clean skull with nicely placed well carried thin rose ears, well spaced sound dark eyes, tidy over nose roll clearly exposing her nice black nose with open nostrils, enough fore face for age, excellent pigmentation well rounded cheeks, nice turn of true underjaw all making a lovely sour expression. Excellent tacked on front with good straight bone to strong pasterns and tidy feet and a nice deep brisket completed the picture. Nice profile with good reach of neck , short back and good tail set, healthy tail and nice light well angulated hindquarters, moved handled and showed very well.

2nd Evison’s Luvipride Amica at Kikuchi r/w Standard size nicely balanced youngster, nice head with broad flat skull, well defined wrinkle, nice rosed, well placed ears, good sound dark eyes, nice black nose with open nostrils set and well laid backed below a full but acceptable nose roll, good pigmentation, lovely sweep and width of true underjaw creating a good stand off expression. Nice front for age with good shoulders and deep brisket, good straight bone to neat feet. Nice profile with good length of neck short back and big ribs, nice light but well muscled hindquarters, moved well front and rear.

Yearling Bitch (9,3)

1st Gillett’s Onabazz Miss Olympea r/w Very nice bitch with lots of substance. Strong head with broad flat skull covered in well defined wrinkle, nice ear set but carried back a little which takes a bit from her expression as she has lovely well spaced dark eyes, full but acceptable nose roll nice black nose with open nostrils, strong width of fore face and good sweep of true underjaw. Excellent front with good broad shoulders, deep brisket and big straight bone to strong pasterns and nice round feet, pleasing profile with good reach of neck, correct length of leg, short back with nice curves to well set healthy tail, nice strong hindquarters with well let down hocks. A little shy on the move but showed me enough to recognise her quality.

2nd George & Coburn’s Avaword Gwenno r/w Standard size bitch of good type. Nice head, flat skull with well defined furrow and correct wrinkle, neat rose ears, good sound dark eyes, full healthy nose roll, good nose with open nostrils good turn of underjaw and excellent pigmentation, nice front with strong straight bone to tidy fee . Nice profile with good good length of neck, nice short back with nice curves over loin, good spring of rib and short coupled, nice tuck up and strong sound hindquarters. Showed and moved well.

3rd Goddard’s Katie Taylor for Kianspuchi

Maiden Bitch (4,2)

1st Mortham’s Packapunch Harriet w/f Standard size , quite heavy wrinkled head but well set rose ears, sound dark eyes, full nose roll and big black nose with open nostrils, strong fore face and good turn of underjaw, nice front, deep brisket and strong straight bone to neat feet. Pleasing profile with good reach of neck, correct dip at withers and nice curve over loins to nice low set heathy tail. Strong hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moved well.

2nd Minto’s Onabazz Bling Bling for Tourmabull r/w Standard weight with nice fine wrinkled skull , nice rose ears, sound dark eyes, good nose and nostrils. Full but tidy nose roll, nice turn of underjaw and excellent pigmentation. Just enough width of shoulder with strong straight bone to nice feet. Nice profile with good neck and top line. Not quite the strength on hindquarters as winner but moved sound.

Novice bitch (9,5)

1st Heiden’s D’Or Wood Uptown Girl DKJCH BKJCH Dark r/w. Not a big bitch but plenty of quality, nice flat skull with neat rose ears, finely wrinkled head and sound dark eyes, full nose roll but well exposed nice nose with open nostrils. Nice fore face and sweep of underjaw creating a nice expression. Good shoulders with good straight bone and strong pasterns to nice feet, pleasing profile with good reach of neck, correct length of back, nice top line and tail set, strong hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moved well front and back.

2nd De Iaco’s Kalonice Strikeapaws (Imp ITA) r/w Standard size. Nice type with good clean head with enough wrinkle to show good broad flat skull, nice well set rose ears, sound round dark eyes, lovely broad black nose and open nostrils, nice width of fore face and good turn of underjaw. Nice front with broad sloping shoulders, deep brisket and strong straight bone to neat feet. Nice reach of neck, but would have liked a better curve over loin , strong sound hindquarters and moved well.

3rd Saafan’s Geovanic Cupid Queen

Post Graduate Bitch (10,2)

1st Neiman’s Kinlockbulls Paint it Gold r/w Now fully mature and looking at her best, quality standard size feminine bitch with nice clean head with fine wrinkle, well set small rose ears, nice round well set sound dark eyes, split nose roll fully exposing her nice black nose with open nostrils. Excellent pigmentation and good fit of true underjaw making a nice expression. Excellent front with correct width and slope of shoulders, good straight bone to tight round feet, enough depth of brisket and correct length of leg to finish the picture. Nice profile with good length of neck, strong short back with gentle curves to heathy tail. Good depth of body with a nice tuck up. Strong hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moved well front and rear. Pushed really hard to be in the CC’s.

2nd Moody’s Bulldurham Phoenix r/w Standard size very typy bitch that was very pleasing to go over, quality head with broad flat skull with good fine wrinkle, well set small rose ears Nicely balanced head with good length of skull and fore face. Good sound dark eyes. Full but not intrusive nose rol , nice black nose with open nostrils, good width of fore face and nice turn of underjaw all making a nice expression. Nice width of shoulder and strong straight bone to neat feet enough depth of brisket and length of leg to make a good square front. Nice profile with just enough neck, nice dip at withers and rise over loins to good to heathy tai . Strong hindquarters and well let down hocks. Moved well.

Limit Bitch (7,0)

1st Mayes’ Ragmarte Daiquiri at Pectus r/w Standard size, nice bitch with lovely head showing a nice broad flat skull with well defined wrinkle and furrow, well placed neat thin rose ears. Good length of skull, well set sound dark eyes, nice tidy nice roll exposing her black nose and open nostrils. Good width of fore face and excellent pigmentation, nice turn of jaw and expression. Nice wide front good length of leg with sloping shoulders deep brisket and good straight bone to strong pasterns and neat feet. Lovely reach of neck, good short back and light hindquarters. Moved and showed well.

2nd Planson’s Reckless Diva at Britishstyle r/w Standard size bitch with lovely head, broad flat skull with near thin rosed ears. Clean head with well defined furrow. Great length of skull to sound dark eyes, full acceptable nose roll, good black nose and open nostrils. Nice turn of underjaw making a good expression. Not quite the width of front as winner but good strong straight bone to strong pasterns and neat feet. Pleasing profile with good length of neck, short strong back with gentle curves to nice healthy tail, good depth of body and good light hindquarters. Moved well.

3rd Stead’s Blenhiemstars Raven at Chezzsbully

Open Bitch (14,5)

1st Sauvee’s D’Or Wood Una Storia Importante w Quality standard size and very feminine typy bitch. Lovely balanced head, with broad flat skull with correct fine but well defined wrinkle, lovely placed and carried thin rose ear , the darkest of sound eyes set low creating a good distance from ears. Evident stop behind a full but healthy nose roll that fully exposes her nice black nose with open nostrils, correct length of fore face to a lovely fit of mouth and good turn and width of true underjaw. Excellent pigmentation all creating a typical bulldog expression. A Good turn and slope of shoulders to strong straight bone, the roundness of feet and enough brisket to finish the front picture. Super balanced profile with lovely reach of neck, correct length of back with nice rise and curve over the loin to well set healthy tail. Good depth of body, good ribs with nice tuck up, strong well muscled hindquarters, strong stifles and well let down hocks. Moved and showed exceptionally well and was proud to award her the BCC.

2nd Allen’s Haddaway Dizzy Miss Lizzy at Rattray b/w Another quality feminine bitch. Very pleasing, well balanced head with broad clean flat skull, correct fine wrinkle with well defined stop and furrow, well placed and carried thin rose ears, well set sound dark eyes . Full healthy nose roll, black nose and open nostrils, good length of fore face. Nice turn of true underjaw making a nice expression. Nice front with good length of leg, just enough brisket, and straight bone to neat feet . Nice profile with Good length of neck, nice body shape with gentle curves, good healthy tail, strong well muscled hindquarters. Moved and handled very well.

3rd Stabile’s Guendalina Di Casa Salento

Champion Bitch (3,2)

1st Flatt’s Ch Belstock The Goomar r/w Stood alone. Very nice well balanced and worthy Champion Bitch. Pleasing head with fine wrinkle and good flat skull showing evident stop and furrow. Well set rose ears, good sound dark eyes, heathy nose roll and well exposed black nose and open nostrils, good width and length of fore face and nice turn of true underjaw creating a nice expression. Nice front with enough turn of shoulder and strength of bone and depth of brisket to catch your eye, good length of leg, strong pasterns and neat feet. Nice profile with good reach of neck, short back with nice curves, big ribs and strong well muscled hindquarters. Her overall quality won her the RBCC and although I saw enough of her movement to tell me it was correct she just lacked the animation on the day of my winner.

Veteran Bitch (5,2)

1st Davies’ Baalzebul Venus r/w Quality standard size bitch now 8 years old and still looks great. I gave her the RCC nearly two years ago and such a shame she wasn’t shown consistently over the years as I am sure she would have been a champion. Lovely head with broad flat skull, correct fine wrinkle, well carried rose ears, sound dark eyes, healthy nose roll with black nose and open nostrils, good length and width of fore face, good turn and width of true underjaw. Nice front with good shoulders, nice brisket and strong straight bone to neat feet. Nice profile with correct length of back, nice curves over loins to good healthy tail, super rib cage giving her a great pear shape view from above. Strong hindquarters in excellent condition moved very well for a veteran. I was so pleased she went on to win best veteran in show, a real credit to her breeders.

2nd Simpson’s Ch Jackarhys Diamond Dust r/w Another lovely veteran nearly 8 years old. Lovely head and fronted bitch with nice fine wrinkle on a good flat skull, ears rosed, small and set well on corner of head with good length to good sound dark eyes, nice fine nose roll over broad black nose. Good length and width of fore face and good turn of true underjaw. Nice width of shoulders and good length of leg, good straight bone to neat feet and enough brisket to complete the lovely front view. A little longer cast than one but excellent reach of neck and curves to nice tail Well angulated hindquarters. Moved and handled well.

Breeders Stakes Puppy Bitch (2,1)

1st Bannister’s Andlare Miss Dee Meaner b/w stood alone. Nice pup, still very soft and one that will benefit from maturity. Good wide finely wrinkled flat skull , well set rose ears, well spaced sound dark eyes. Full healthy nose roll over a good broad black nose with open nostrils, strong width of fore face and good turn of true underjaw. Nice front with good sloping shoulders, strong straight bone to neat feet and good depth of brisket.

Lovely length of neck, good ribs strong hindquarters and moved well.
