The Scottish Kennel Club – All Breed Championship Show

17th May 2025

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

Judge: - Kaine Davis (Sharmara)

Firstly, I would like to thank the officers and committee of The Scottish Kennel Club for offering me this, my first CC appointment, the hospitality shown to myself, and my husband was second to none. My two stewards done a great job all day, keeping the ring running smoothly and without any problems.

I would also like to thank the exhibitors for giving me a fantastic entry on the day, with very few absentees and accepting my decisions in a sporting manner.

My decisions were what I perceived to be as close to the breed standard as possible. There are dogs I have admired from the ringside and was disappointed by the lack of fitness when I got my hands on them, this is something that is easily rectified, as is feet. Road walking your dog will help with feet and fitness. There were a few good dogs, but unfortunately had incorrect bites. Close rear movement is also something that seems to be creeping into the breed. Bitches overall are of a better quality than dogs, which we should really try to address moving forward with breeding plans.

With that being said, I was pleased with both my line ups.
