THE WIRE-HAIRED DACHSHUND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

30TH MARCH 2025

JUDGE – JULIET COOPER

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the exhibitors, officers and committee for giving me this opportunity. An emotional day for all, there were a few tears and there was plenty of laughter and good sportsmanship throughout the day, a very fitting tribute to the late secretary Ann Moore.

Superb rings made judging a joy.

Special thanks to Ian Seath and Sue Rollinson for stewarding all day, your efforts were much appreciated, as was the lovely lunch.

Exhibits were all in excellent condition, temperaments, as expected, were fantastic.

I found quite a variety in types as is the norm these days in all varieties. size was very varied, particularly in the bitches.

Coats have improved on a grand scale, as have the rear construction; all in all, I think the wires are in good shape.

Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch (5,1)

My first Baby puppy class and I was pleasantly surprised at how together they all were. 5-month-old litter mates, lovely confident babies.

1st: WILLS Kasalane Pietersite

The most mature of the tribe, as is usual with boys, firm topline for age, nice tight elbows, good shoulder placement, he has a good reach of neck and plenty of ribbing leading to strong rear, moved the best here, he will be one to watch.

2nd: WILLS Kasalane Amethyst

Best of the girls, although they will change places along the way, similar in make up to winner just rather loose at present. Again, outgoing and confident.

THE CHRISTINE GIBSON MEMORIAL CLASS

An honour and privilege to judge this class, I knew Chrissy in the ring and whilst working at the police college. Thank you to those who entered and for the 10 who stayed on to make a competion of it.
