GORDON SETTERS
MPD (1)
1. Hernwood Master Blaster(Sandiford) Young dog, 9 months old, well bodied throughout for his age. Quite a masculine head, nice dark eyes, slightly deeper in muzzle. Long neck leading into good lay of shoulder, upper arm well angulated, correct forechest, good depth and spring of rib, nice flat bone. Topline and tailset good, strength in hind quarters with nice width, moved out well, coat coming along with a lovely clear tan. BPD
PD (2)
1. Hernwood Master Blaster(Sandiford) Repeat from MPD
2. Waseley Lazy Dayz at Stylersetts(Macaulay) 11 months of age, liked this lads head shape and found his muzzle not so heavy as first. Still uncertain as to what’s expected of him being shown, time is on his side. Kindly expression, reasonable length of neck, level topline, would prefer a better angle to upper arm. Good depth of ribs, needs more width of thigh and rear angulation. Moved close behind with an unsteady gait.

1. Gailiech Wirnpa (Hogg) This dog carries a masculine head, his eyes are dark but would prefer a softer expression. Good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulder blades. His topline and tailset is fairly good, needs forechest and more length of rib. Movement was close behind when moving away from me. I felt that he could do with more substance all over, needs time to develop.
PGD (3)
1. Beechlake The Storyteller of Finnsfolk (Ellington) Pleasant head on this dog, dark eye, low set ears, for preference would like more length of neck and better front angulation overall, flat bone on front legs, very nice shaped feet. Depth to ribcage with reasonable length, level topline, tail set well on croup with a nice flag. Good coat and clear tan markings. Short straight hocks, steady movement.
2. Caradilis Jumping Jack (Inglis) Pleasant dog, but is a little unsure of what’s going on around him. Very nice head with a dark eye, neck length adequate, flat bone on front legs. Reasonable front angulation, tending to lower his tail when stacked and paced badly on the up and down, moved better when handler was asked to go again. Extra ring training may help him to relax and move at one with his handler.
3. Cottonstones Dazzling Lad (Burke)

1. Fieldberry Secret Weapon at Rufusmoor JW (Fudge) Pleased to see this dog entered under me again. I like him for size, he is an upstanding male that shows a pleasing outline when stacked. His head is carried proudly, has good angles from a side profile, with a dark eye giving an intelligent expression. Super length of neck into well laid shoulder blades, he has the best of fronts, legs with nice flat bone, equal front angulation, enough depth and spring of ribs. His rear is strong with wide muscled thighs, short hocks which allowed him to move correctly and cover the ground well. He shows a very level topline, good tail set, both evident on the move. Carries a lovely coal black coat with clear tan markings. Very worthy winner for my DCC.
2. Benbuie Comanche (Warren & Mazzio) Another good example of this breed, liked his size and outline. Nicely shaped skull, dark eyes and soft expression, low set ears. Good length of neck, level topline with good placement of his tail, balanced angulation, but would like to see a little more muscle and strength of hind quarters, hopefully this will get better. He has a good bend of stifle with nice short hocks and moved well on a nice long stride. Lovely coal black coat and tan colouring. Up against older dogs, he just needs a touch more maturity.
3. Gailiech Ngalyod (Hogg)
OD (3)
1. Am/Int Ch/Sh Ch Carnoustie Let The Game Begin(AI)(Imp Aus) (Newton, Cornum & Timmermann) Masculine boy and well off for bone in all quarters. Correct head shape, nice dark eyes, low set ears. Strong neck with good length, connects to well placed shoulders which flows into a level topline and tailset. Very good forechest and front construction, legs with flat bone and good feet, ribs deep and well sprung showing lung room. Rear construction is strong with good width and muscle tone, good bend of stifle and short hocks, this allowed him to drive with ground covering movement, albeit a little fast at times. However, this dog was still worthy of the RDCC.
2. Sh Ch Hernwood The Botanist JW ShCEx OSW (Ashley-Turner) Another good example of this breed with nice body proportions. Liked his expression, dark eye, for my liking would prefer less depth of muzzle. Moderate length of neck into lay of shoulders, good forechest and straight front, well angulated fore and aft, level topline and nice run off to tail. Moved out well covering the ground.
3. Sh Ch Cafotaliena Thief of Hearts JW (Mitchell)
VD (1)
1. Colquhally Major Tom (Danks) Masculine headed dog, slightly on the broader side but does not distract from his kind expression and dark eyes. He is well constructed throughout, adequate length of neck, good front and bone, depth of rib and well sprung, angulated well fore and aft, he does show a good topline and tailset. He covers ground well but would prefer steadier movement overall. BVD

1. Hernwood Superstition (Sandiford) Very sweet 7 month old, litter sister to first in Puppy dog. Quite different in build, typically feminine, liked her head and expression, lovely length to her neck. Nice front quarters, enough bone for her age, neat feet. Ribs already showing depth and well ribbed back. Level topline, correct length to tail. Rear muscle & strength will improve with age. Very collected on the move with a steady gait. BBP & BPIB

1. Hernwood Superstition (Sandiford) Repeat from MPB
2. Waseley Hazy Dayz (Sweryda) 11 months of age, substantial young girl with good bone throughout yet still feminine. Well shaped skull, defined stop and dark eye colour, low set ears. Moderate neck and shoulder placement, good top line and tail set, enough angulation of forequarters and hindquarters. Moved out well.
3. Ronaldbill Mystical Fire (Crowther)

PGB (4:1a)
1. Kilnrae Back to the Future (Marsh) Presents a feminine outline, well shaped head of good proportions, soft expression and dark eye, low set ears. Good length of neck, nicely placed shoulders and a level topline, adequate angulation for and aft with well let down hocks. Coat of nice texture, nice clear tan markings. Well schooled and moved out well.
2. Balnakeil Creag Rainich J.W (A & S Green) Compact bitch with a nice head and expression, dark eye colour with a clear tan. Good length of neck, adequate front angulation, level topline. She had left her jacket at home today and unfortunately looked rather raw, which was such a pity. Overall she carries good bone, with short hocks, very good clear tan markings and she had nice ground covering movement.
3. Benbuie Shoshone at Malocomi (D. Green)
LB (9:2a)
1. Caradilis Sparks Will Fly J.W(O’Kelly & Hancock) Liked this girl’s balanced outline, pleasing feminine head with enough stop, gentle expression with dark eyes. Low set ears, lean neck into a moderate lay of shoulder, straight front, neat feet, enough bone for her size. Deep through chest, nice depth of rib, level topline and tailset maintained when moving. For preference, I would like slightly more rear angulation. However, this did not detract from the overall picture. Moved out on a steady gait. RBCC
2. Cafotaliena Hello my Love(Hardy) Substantial in body but not overdone in any way, liked this girls classic head, soft expression and dark eye, defined stop, square muzzle and clear tan. Ears set low, good length of neck into sloping shoulders, level topline and correct tailset. Shown in good coat and condition, well shaped feet. Moved well.
3. Flaxheath Cover Girl at Glenmaurangi J.W(Phillips & Watkins)
OB (4:1a)
1. Sh Ch Hernwood Gin Fizz J.W.(Sandiford & Lewis) Super outline to this 4 year old bitch, feminine with strength. She carries a well shaped head, soft expression with dark eyes, low set ears, clean neck into well laid shoulders, correct front angulation with good forechest, nice straight bone. Ribs have depth and are well sprung with nice length, showing a short loin, she has a strong level topline and well set tail. Super rear angulation, rear thighs are well muscled, wide and strong, together with a lovely bend of stifle and short hocks, this enabled her to power around the ring covering the ground well. Shiny black coat with nice feathering and tan markings, shown in super condition and well handled. Happy to award this bitch my BCC & BOB
2. Ordett Love Me Do at Keaswood J.W(Horn) Have done this bitch well before, today she was unlucky to meet first in this class. She is a well balanced bitch of good type, kind feminine head with dark eyes, nice low set ears. Good bone throughout, level topline, she carries a good quality coat which is in excellent condition and clear tan markings. Today she didn’t appear to have the verve of last time I judged, her rear movement was not as positive, which was such a pity. We all have off days.
3. Ch Beechlake Hey Jude SGWC (Burke)
VB (4:1a)
1. Sh Ch Flaxheath Top Model at Glenmaurangi (Phillips & Watkins) Lovely bitch from all angles. Nicely balanced head with good eye colour and expression, well arched neck of nice length into an adequate lay of shoulder. Straight front, good bone, level topline, well muscled behind with bend of stifle. Excellent coat condition for her age. Tan markings reasonable, would prefer them to be clearer, especially on feet. Overall a lovely bitch that has definitely earned her place in the history of this breed. BVB, BVIB
2. Hernwood Athena at Herrera (Davies) Substantial bitch, larger in size to one. Classic Gordon head, dark eye with a feminine expression. Well constructed throughout and moved soundly. Good coat and colour.
