The Northern Bulldog Club Championship Show – 28/12/2025

I would like to thank the club for the invitation, particularly Vicky Collins Nattrass & Blackpool & Fylde bulldog club, as they issued the original invitation nearly three years previous. As the club amalgamated with The Northern the original appointment got moved in the calendar. A special thanks to Kirsty Rudd for looking after me for the weekend, thanks also to the two able stewards for the day Paul Reynolds & Stuart Peebles who kept things running smoothly and managed all the awards and prizes to be given out. The club put on a fabulous show, the venue was perfect, food was excellent and everyone looked to be enjoying themselves, I honestly have never witnessed the amount of prize money on offer and it is wonderful to see a club giving back to the exhibitors. Overall the quality of the dogs were not of the high standard I have seen previously, some hard decisions were made and places could change on another day, but my principal winners made up for it and then some. Most exhibits were presented in good clean condition, but some basic animal husbandry was required to some, I do believe it is basic manners to bring a clean exhibit under a judge. No serious health issues were noted and generally nostrils, tails and movement were all ok, great to see all the stars of the future in the puppy classes. I was also delighted to crown two champions on the day.

Baby Puppy Dog

1st – Freeman – Boyattbull Bob Briscoe At Testwood

Four month old red & white with lovely head, good clear dark eye, open nostrils, good ear placement & good jaw. Lovely layback, good neck down to well placed shoulder and good chest, good body shape. Plenty of bone and neat feet. Rear angulation OK, nice tail. Moved well with typical roll. Very promising baby. Litter brother to the bitch, very nice pair.

Baby Puppy Bitch

1st – James – Boyattbull Miss Crazy Maizie

Four month old red with lovely feminine head. Good jaw, open nostrils, dark eye, good ear placement. Clean head with enough wrinkle onto good neck to good shoulder. Nice depth of chest, nice short body to good rump & enough angulation behind. Moved well, tail ok.

2nd – Sibbick – Treasurabull’s Ice Queen

5&1/2 month old white girl. Good overall shape, neat head with well set rose ears, dark eye, good nostrils and jaw OK. Enough neck to good shoulder to neat feet. Moved well, tail ok. Preferred cobbiness of 1.

Minor Puppy Dog

1st – Green – Andlare Kaput

Red & white with good clean head. Good jaw, open nostrils and dark eye. Good length of neck to well placed shoulder, good bone to neat feet. Nice depth of chest with good tuck-up to well angulated rear, good healthy tail, moved very well. Pleased to award him his first RCC, promising young male.

2nd – Cradock – Suluma Obi Wan Kenobi

Red & white standard with good head, jaw ok, nostrils open & dark eye. Ear placement OK, enough neck to good shoulder & chest, moved OK.

Puppy Dog

1st – Cradock – Suluma Chewbacca

Red & white standard with good shaped head, jaw good, nostrils OK. Clear dark eye, ear placement OK, enough neck to good shoulder & enough depth of chest. Neat feet, topline OK to enough angulation to rear. Tail OK, moved well.

Junior Dog

1st – Lees – Mellowmood I’m A Lucky Man

White with red eye patches, 14 months. Strong dog with good head qualities, good jaw, nostrils OK. Good layback, dark eye, well set rose ears, good neck to well placed shoulder. Good depth of chest with good bone, straight front to neat feet. Nice topline with good tuck-up to well angulated rear, well set tail, moved well.

Novice Dog

1st – Bellerby – Jaybelabee Apollo

White with patch on tail, strong dog with clean head, Jaw OK, nostrils OK, dark eye, good ear set, good layback, enough neck to good depth of chest with nice tuck-up, good topline, tail OK. Well angulated rear & moved OK.

2nd – Dean – Bullmarina Limited Edition

White like 1st, strong dog, good head, jaw OK, nostrils OK, dark eye & good ear set. More neck to good shoulder, good bone with straight front, good feet, enough depth of chest with good tuck-up, tail OK & moved OK.

Post Graduate Dog

1st – Allen – Jabrybull Valentino Rossi To Rattray

Red & white standard with good brick shaped head, jaw OK, nostrils open. Dark eye & well set rose ears, enough neck to well placed shoulder. Good straight front & neat feet, well let down brisket and good spring of rib. Good topline to well angulated rear, a tad long in loin, moved well.

2nd – Baker – Smoochabull Cyrus The Viruss Into Pacolito

White & brindle, head OK, round compared to brick shape, but clean with good jaw, nose, eye & ear, enough neck to good shoulder. Good bone with straight front, neat feet, enough depth of chest with tuck-up to good angulated rear, moved OK, tail could be better.

Limit Dog

1st – Nash – Smoochabull The Siege JW

Brindle & white with good shape of head, good jaw, open nostrils, dark eye & well set ears, good neck to well set shoulder to straight front with neat feet, good depth of chest, good topline to good tail. Well angulated to rear with good movement.

2nd – Watkins – Shipshape Shining Star

Brindle with good shape of head, jaw OK, good nostrils, dark eye, good ear set, good neck to good shoulder & straight front, feet OK. Well let down brisket, excellent spring of rib. Correct topline to good angulation & moved well, tail OK.

Open Dog

1st – Kellett – IR CH Jumabull Dragon Warrior

Red & white strong male shown in immaculate, hard condition, excellent type with great head qualities. Large broad flat head with correct brick shape, excellent width of true underjaw, well placed nose with wide open nostrils, clear dark round eye & well set rose ears, well-padded cheeks. Desired reach of neck to good shoulder, well boned straight front, lovely neat feet, good depth of chest with good tuck-up. Topline very good to good tail, well angulated rear. Moved correctly both coming and going, held his topline on the move, CC dog and RBIS.

2nd – Cezar – Multi CH Why Not Babynou Bull EUW24 WW25

Red & white, another excellent type with good head, jaw, nose & feet, just not as good as first. Good neck to well set shoulders, enough bone, straight front, good depth of chest with good tuck-up, good topline to good tail, well angulated & moved very well. Preferred the strength of 1.

Veteran Dog

1st – Dean – Hawkbulls Quinn At Bullmarina

White large 9 year old with good head, jaw OK for his age. Nostrils OK, dark eye, ears OK, well off for brisket, solid type and still able to move without too much stiffness, overall in good shape for his age. BVIS.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1st – Avison & Ainsworth – Boltonbully Belle Epoque

Red & white with very pleasing head qualities, good jaw, good nostrils, dark eye & well set ears, enough neck to good shoulders, enough depth of chest, good front & neat feet, good topline to good angulation, tail OK, moved well.

2nd – Mayes – Blenhiemstar’s Legacy At Pectus

Red & white, standard type with good head, jaw OK, nostrils open, dark eye & ear set OK. Good body shape with good tuck-up, good angulation and moved well.

Puppy Bitch

1st – Saafan – Geovanic Fiery Zest

Red & white well bodied shape, good head, with good jaw, nose & eye, ear set OK, good neck to good shoulder, good bone to straight front. Good depth of chest, good tuck up, tail OK, feet could be better. Moved very well, BPIS.

Junior Bitch

1st – Mc Sorley – Bradiebe Lady In Red For Soraled IR Jun CH, INT Jun CH

Red & white with very good head qualities, good jaw, open nostrils, clear dark eye. Good ear set, enough length of neck to good shoulders, straight front with good bone, good depth of chest with good tuck-up. Very good topline to good tail, well angulated to rear. Now this girl had a problem with the ringside banners and refused to walk with the rest of the class, but on her solo run she moved beautifully.

2nd – Griffiths – Meljane Venicedavik

Red & white, another girl with good head qualities, jaw not as good as 1st but good nose, eye & ears, neck & shoulders good with good bone to straight front, topline good, good angulation & moved well. Tail not as good as 1st.

Novice Bitch

1st – Saafan – Geovanic Fiery Zest

Red & white well bodied shape, good head, with good jaw, nose & eye, ear set OK, good neck to good shoulder, good bone to straight front. Good depth of chest, good tuck up, tail OK, feet could be better. Moved very well, BPIS.

2nd – Braso – Blenhiemstar’s First Lady

Red & white, good clean head, jaw, eye & ears all OK. Good length of neck with good shoulders, nice bone & straight front, moved well.

Post Graduate Bitch

1st – New – Kelloe Sweet Caroline At Newrock

Fawn & white with strong head shape, jaw OK, nostril open. Dark eye & ears nicely set. Good neck to good shoulder, straight front, good bone, long in body but in proportion, good angulation & moved well. Tail OK.

2nd – Mayes – Blenhiemstar Proud Mary Pectus

Red & white cobby girl with enough head, jaw OK, nose OK, eye dark, ears OK. Enough neck to shoulder, tuck-up good, movement & tail not as good as 1st.

Limit Bitch

1st – Saafan – Geovanic Cupid Queen JW

Red & white standard size with good head & jaw. Nostrils open, clear dark eye, good ear set. Enough neck to shoulder, straight front, good topline to good rear angulation. Moved well but could lose a few pounds.

2nd – De Laco – Kalonice Of Strikeapaws

Red & white, another standard size with less weight. Good head, jaw OK, nose OK, dark eye & good ear set. Enough neck to good shoulder. Straight front, good bone, good depth of chest, good tuck-up. Moved well, tail & feet could be better.

Open Bitch

1st – Almazan – Jaydeefourever Victoria Queen Bulldogirona

Brindle & white, excellent type with superb head qualities. Pleasing turn and fit of jaw, lovely open nostrils, clear round dark eye & well set rose ears. Lovely reach of neck to well set shoulders, straight front with great bone, well let down brisket, good barrel of rib, to good tuck-up. Excellent topline to very good healthy tail, Well angulated rear & moved beautifully. Caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring, a girl I would love to have home with me. BCC & BIS.

2nd – Speakman – CH Ryadjobe Stir It Up

Red & white standard girl with very good head, good jaw, nostrils OK, well-padded foreface giving lovely expression. Dark eye & good ear set, good length of neck to well set shoulders. Good straight front & good bone to neat feet. Enough depth of chest to good tuck-up. Correct topline to healthy free tail, well angulated rear. Movement today not as free as 1st, RCC.
