SOUTH WEST WHIPPET CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 25TH MAY 2025

JUDGE: JILL SCOTT-BISSET

My thanks to the committee of the SWWC for asking me to judge and to all the brave exhibitors. It was a pleasure to meet Heather Cleaver, the Dog judge and it was great that we had similar tastes and reasoning.

The weather was very influential on the results as understandably many lovely exhibits did not want to show at all in the very high and often dangerous winds. Once they weren't going to stand, it was never going to get better. The crashing and banging from the roof beams frightened many of the exhibits - and I jumped several times myself. The Bannerdown workers coming to fix the stanchion back down to the ground plate didn't inspire confidence either.

Movement with just a few exceptions was very good, but a lot of fronts are still too wide, however in general I felt the breed is in a safe place with so many classical, sound exhibits.

I felt so lucky to have had 3 exceptional bitches at the end to choose from and it was really splitting hairs, would have loved to have a CC for all 3. I heard that the Limit winner actually has 2 CC's, so I hope she soon gets a 3rd, she deserves it.
