Southern Counties Canine Association

Breed: Hamiltonstovare

A windy but warm and dry day, my thanks to the exhibitors for their patience in waiting for their classes, to my two Stewards, Maureen & John who had had such a long day and to the Association for their invitation.

Hamiltonstovare

Enjoyed this Breed once again and found the winners pleasing with super temperaments.

Veteran Dog (2) 1 abs

1. Briant & Ellwood’s Sufayre Larsson, a pleasure to see this super male once more, now in the Veteran class but he’s still just as sleek in outline, has a very striking colour combination which is rich brown with a dense black blanket & white socks; great rectangular balance to head & body, good bone, best of shoulders & fantastic front, took off around the ring with free striding style, expertly handled. BD and BOB and very pleased he got Group 2 in the Veteran Hound Group.

Post Graduate Dog (1) 1 abs

Open Dog (2) 1 abs

1. Graham’ s Game Changer for Sufayre judged this one as a youngster, has the same Sire as the Veteran winner and many similar qualities, he is handsome & upstanding, lovely strong bone, sound front & rear, super-rich colouring, backline just a fraction shorter & not quite the ground coverage of the Veteran so Res.BD

Post Graduate Bitch (2)

1. Kenmare’s Omega Huculska Dolina at Craigmills she is feminine but has strength, good ribbing & depth, is shapely and has a slight tuck up, handler got the very best from her both on the stack and on the move where she scored in profile.

2. Surman’s Sweet Hope for Sufayre attractive & has a pleasing head in profile, neck blending into her shoulderline nicely, has moderately sprung ribbing & feels good underhand, hindquarters well angulated & muscled, although she moved soundly she needed just that bit more to show off her reach & drive to advantage.

Open Bitch (3) 1 abs

1. Briant’s Star Catcher from Sufayre, both of these again have great appeal with the same Sire as Veteran winner & they carry that quality through, this was a tricky class to separate but preferred the head balance of this one, lovely outline & reachy neck, good depth, well ribbed back, strong loin, moved out well showing her reach well; I do hope the handler has recovered from her tumble in the ring; BB & BOS

2. Reilly’s Wish Maker for Sufayre very similar & many of the above comments apply, on the stack she has a good outline and that gorgeous rich colour accentuates her shape, good body all through, nicely angled fore & aft, not quite the length of stride here today. Res.BB
