Sadly the weather was not kind to us. I was told that exhibitors would prefer to be outside, and the forecast suggested the worst of the rain had gone and the sky would clear during the morning. A heavy shower in the middle of the dog classes, followed by another just after the challenge, together with a darkening of the sky meant we had to go undercover. Such a shame as the outside ring was an ideal size and indoors it was a bit limited.

I very much enjoyed this appointment and feel there is plenty of quality in the breed. Very heartening to have so many good youngsters. I was more than happy with both line ups. I thought some were too tall, often lacking angulation. Many were rather steep in croup. Very few picked up to high in front. I think the breed is in quite a good place, no shortage of CC quality dogs. Good to see great sportsmanship on the day.

 Almost 9 mths and obviously more forward than 2. Liked his proportions. V good head. Long neck. He could be slightly better in shoulder. Chest to elbow. Well ribbed back. Liked his topline, which he held on move. Super rear which he uses v well. Could have a longer stride in front, but accurate and keeps feet low,

2ND 1610 - Gingerbread Soulad at Falconcrag (imp) (Miss S Marston-Pollock)

Just 6 months. He is a lovely shape, just picking up in front at the moment. Long neck. Quite a good front. Chest to elbow. Well ribbed back. Topline coming. Super rear, used v well.

 Super outline standing which he holds on the move, going with a long and easy stride. Liked his head. He has a lengthy neck into a well laid shoulder. Well filled front, chest to elbow. Enough topline for his age. Well ribbed back. Super rear. Accurate on the move. Doesn’t want to get any bulkier in front. Potential to gain his title.

2ND 1607 - Edenwhip Oregano (Mrs E K & Miss L Mallinson)

  Really shapely d of excellent proportions. Liked his head. Long neck with a good front. Can just develop a little more width of chest. Well ribbed back. Liked his topline. Fairly accurate mover with a long stride.

 Liked him stood, just lifting in front a little and flying tail. Has a v good head. Shoulder well laid. Chest to elbow. Well bodied.

 Fairly easy winner of this class. V shapely d who has a lovely easy stride, keeps his feet low, just flattens ever so slightly. Has a super head. Long neck. Chest to elbow. Has a tendancy to lean into his front. Well sprung ribs going well back. Super rear. Doesn’t always look his best stood, although in the challenge he pulled himself together. On the go round I found him impossible to get past. CC & BOB

 Better size than 3. Quite a shapely d with gentle curves. Liked his head. Flat skull. Long neck. Balanced in his angulation. Just picks up a bit on move but fairly accurate.

Very shapely and really liked her free and easy movement. Fem in head. Long neck into a well laid shoulder. Can still fill in chest. Chest reaches elbow. Well ribbed back. Has a graceful topline. Plenty of hind angulation without being overdone. In lovely coat and condition. So full of quality. Couldn’t resist her for CC. BP, well done on PG2, beaten by a pup I gave a CC to a few weeks ago.
