Crufts. American Cocker Spaniels

Thank you for the wonderful entry. I really enjoyed judging your fabulous breed. Presentation was excellent. Only a few slightly faulty mouths. Little concerned at the number of heavy skulls. I was looking for the correct proportions, some are long and low, and many lack the required topline, which is such a breed feature. Most had long and sloping upper arms, but shoulders were too often forward. Although many were level in topline, very few had a dip. The main winners thrilled me, and good to have some really promising youngsters.

1ST 12747 - Sh Ch Alibama Blackmail (Mr D K Jennings)

 Clipped off, but this enhanced his excellent proportions. Outmoved the opposition in this class. Slightly strong in head. Enough neck. His angulation is well balanced. Need chest. Super ribs. Ideal topline and tailset.

2ND 12730 - Pt Ch/gi Ch/pt Gr Ch Royalty Inc Mr Mumbles (Mrs Carla Dantas)

Liked his proportions. Has a slightly better front than 1. Lots of hind angulation and so not quite as together on move. Liked his big ribs and hard topline.

1ST 12741 - Afterglow Dominion at Zarcrest (W, L & J Harris, Mclachlan & Lynn)

 This pup has a super outline, ideal proportions. He has quite a strong masc skull, super muzzle. Long neck. Lengthy and well sloped upper arm. Bigger ribs that 2. Slight slope in topline. Good rear, not over done. Accurate on move. Enough stride. Really impressed and whilst not ready today for higher awards I have no doubt he will make the top. BP

2ND 12722 - Yankeetank The Gondolier (Mrs Karen Caunce)

Liked this pup a lot. V good head. Long and crested neck. He has quite a good front with decent forechest. Just a fraction longer in back than 1. V good topline and tailset. Plenty of hind angulation.

 Lovely shape, short backed and in super condition, presentation of the highest order. Liked his head. Long neck. Shoulder a little forward but a long and sloping upper arm. Big ribs, short loin. Topline levels moving a bit and tail slightly high. Accurate with an even stride.

2ND 12752 - Magic Sunrise Fast and Furious Jcib Baltic Jch (Ms Marta & Ms Julia Kanepe & Visente Kardozu Da Silva)

Lots to like about this d, colour could be better broken up. Lengthy neck. His angulation is so well balanced so goes so v well. Short back. Well set tail.

Liked his proportions, not quite the front of 1. Has a v good head. Lengthy neck. Super tailset. Well made rear.

Presents a super outline with correct hard topline. He has a v good head. Lengthy neck. Quite a good front.well sprung ribs,chest to elbow. Not over done in rear. Super mover, although tail is just a fraction high. Wold be very worthy of his title.

Love his shape, could be just a little more outgoing. Super head. Well made front and rear. Topline is firmer than markings make is look. Well sprung ribs. Accurate mover.

Liked his proportions and really good open side gait. Has a masc head with plush muzzle. Long neck. Front is quite good. He has just a little more spring of rib than 2. Super topline and tailset. Super rear. Accurate on move and super stride. Quality D who took CC, beaten by his fabulous daughter for the breed.

2ND 12783 - Lt Ch Vamos Smeline Svaja Lt/balt/hr Jch Wjw24 (Mrs J Pauliuviene)

Still quite young and just needs to spring in rib a bit more. Super proportions. V good head. Long neck. Liked his front. Firm topline, although sometimes sloped off just a bit much moving. Super rear. Lovely size. Quality nose to tail. RCC
