Driffield Championship Dog Show
Driffield Championship show Sunday 24th August 2025 – Held at Wetherby Racecourse.
This year, the show was blessed with good weather ranging from hot sunshine to a little drizzle and light wind. A new layout with in and out rings, and much-appreciated benching, it all worked very well. Congratulations to the show and the committee who worked so hard before and after.

1st: TAYLOR, Mr A J W & TAYLOR, Mrs H Oldcharm Addicted To Love At Maursett – This young boy is starting to come into himself with plenty of him. His head was well-balanced balance framed with medium-sized pendant ears covered in coat, ample fill to his chest, elbows held close to his ribs, long hare feet. Enough length to loin and moderate hind angulation, which gave him a positive free stride. 2nd: 13411 LYNCH, Miss S Oldcharm This Is Real Love – Litter brother to 1. Appealing head with a black mask, oval dark eye, slightly undershot as required, and strong, straight teeth. On the move today, he was a little close, which could mean a little road work to strengthen his hind legs. 3rd: JORDAN, Mr M & JORDAN, Mrs J Malia Anada

1st: LEMON, Mr R Parloueve Love Explosion At Oldcharm – An excitable puppy full of naughtiness. Once settled, he gave a strong outline slightly longer than tall. He had a masculine head, well-set ears with a nice lift to them. Good mouth, undershot teeth, short neck into well-laid shoulders. Moderate bone to legs with slight bow. Firm topline and matching hind angulation, his high-set tail curled neatly over his back and rested on his hip. BP
2nd: DUNCAN, Miss Layla Susu Appley Ever After JW – This young boy had a black muzzle with a well-defined stop, oval eyes that were dark and expressive. Moderately short neck as required into shoulders. His chest needed to fill out a little, his ribs had enough spring at this stage, flexible loin, and enough hind angulation with short hocks; his tail had a good plumb and well-feathered hind legs.

1st: COUGHTRIE, Mrs D & HENDRY, Mrs Caroline & PATERSON Jazpiper I Am Maximus JW – A decent balance to this young man, being slightly longer than tall with a look of independence. I liked his head with enough muzzle, correct bite, and oval eyes. His chest had suitably filled; ribs that reached back to a muscular loin. On the move in profile, he had reach and drive. 2nd: LYNCH, Miss S Oldcharm Love Generation – Slightly younger boy. Masculine head with a slight dome to skull, medium length to muzzle, strong, straight teeth. His neck was a good length into his shoulders, forelegs had moderate bone to lovely hare feet, complete with feathering. I would like to see him with a little more muscle in his hindquarters; that would improve his movement.

1st: HORTON, Mrs Lesley & HORTON, Mr Nigel Oldcharm Love To Love Of Dixpat – A very striking boy just turned 2yrs. His black mask and oval-shaped dark eyes; he was fully concentrated on his handler, his ears were set beautifully with a lift to them and a slight dome to skull. His chest was full and ribs nicely sprung, they reached to his elbows and gave a clean underline to his short, muscular loin. He had moderate hind angulation with short hocks. To finish, his topline was firm and carried his tail curled over his back and rested neatly. His coat was in super condition, silky with good undercoat. In profile and fore and aft, he was sound with a free positive stride. RCC 2nd: TAYLOR, Mrs H & Mr D N Oldcharm Can You Love Me At Maursett –Masculine head with a nicely shaped eye, well-proportioned. He has a reasonable forechest, good angulation front and rear, well-sprung ribcage, his topline was firm, and his tail carried well. He needs some work on the move. 3rd: CHRISTIE, Mrs D & Miss L Balgay Golden Buzzer (a.i)

1st: MORTON, Mrs L M Linsdown Gibran – 2yr full of quality and masculinity. He had a slight dome to his head with ears of medium size held pendant to his face, good mouth, and dentition slightly undershot. Enough length of neck into nicely laid shoulders, moderate bone to well-shaped hare feet. His chest had ample fill and justly ribbed back. He was full of muscular condition and moved cleanly with a quick, positive stride. CC BoB 2nd: THOMSON, Ms E J Tibbiestars Time Lord – 3yr red. Well-balanced head and with independent expression. completely focused on his handler. Being red, he had less coat, where you could see the length of his neck, which neatly fitted into his shoulders. His chest had ample width and close-fitting elbows, his underline was clean with a slight rise, and his topline was firm and level. I preferred the showmanship of 1 today. 3rd: OSBORNE, Mr Philip & OSBORNE, Mrs Hayley Parloueve Like Prayer At Impycelyn

1st: THOMSON, Ms E J Tibbiestars Moulin Rouge – at 9.5yrs I was impressed with her show condition. A red girl who was willing to please her handler, well balanced throughout, with her head that held an aloof expression from dark oval-shaped eyes, excellent pigmentation. Short neck into well-laid shoulders and moderate bone to legs. Her topline was firm and level with ample spring to her rib’s short loin, and well-developed hind legs and short hocks. She held her tail curled nicely over her back, richly plumed. On the move, she was clean and straight. Pleased to award her Best Veteran in breed. She went on to achieve a 4th in the veteran group.

1st: 13409 LEMON, Mr R Oldcharm My Kinda Love - This 8-month-old I found was very mature in her outlook. She had lost most of her puppy coat and had a good adult coat, with a little more time to finish off. Her outline was well balanced, being slightly longer than tall, with sufficient bone to her legs, although I’d like a little more hair on her feet. She had plenty of ruff and well-plumed tail, her elbows tucked neatly under her, and her ribs had sufficient spring at this age. I’m sure she’ll do well as she matures. She was lively and alert as she moved quickly and straight.
Class 1165 JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

Her hind legs had well-feathered culottes. Her feet were of good hare shape, although I’d like a little more hair would be nice. One to watch.

She won this class on her movement, very positive and sound. 2nd: THOMSON, Ms E J Tibbiestars Shady Lady – this 6yr belies her age. As a red not as full in coat, although she had sufficient feathering throughout, moderate bone, and neatly tucked in elbows, she had the better feet with plenty of hair to her toes. On the move, her hind legs were not quite as free. 3rd: THOMSON, Miss Sheila R M & PRENTICE, Mr Ian Crockerne Love To Talk With Tamrae
