Bath Canine Society Championship show held at Three Shires Fields on Friday, 23 May 2025

Thank you to Bath Canine Society for their kind invitation. Having their own show ground the grass was manicure to a good length to show off the dogs’ feet, which are a very important part of dogs being Fit for Function.

VD 1. Ristine Tweedledee VW (Mrs C A Massey) – Mature boy of 9yrs, pleasing head with clean, dark, bright eyes, enough stop and enough length of muzzle, his chest is nicely filled with a good depth of brisket, he gave a good outline standing on tight cat feet. On the move, he was steady and covered the ground. He was in a full coat today.

JrD. 1. Fullmoon Rise from The Runes (Imp Usa) TAF (Miss L & Mrs K & Miss J Mclachlan & Morrison & Mclachlan) – This boy looked to be professionally groomed and shone in today’s sunshine. As a young dog, he is already well developed. He has a masculine head with oval-shaped dark eyes and the blackest of noses. He has a full, strong neck into shoulders and straight legs to tight catlike feet. His chest is well filled and has good depth with a short loin and little tuck up. He gave a striking picture. He moved out with a short, brisk gait RCC BP. In the puppy group, he had some strong competition and achieved a 3rd place.

PgD 1. Chadbower Tadhg (Mrs M Rollinson) – Nicely sized for his age, although he had lost some weight recently. He had a masculine head with high-set prick ears; his neck flowed through his shoulders to a firm topline finishing with his high-set tail carried curled over his back on the move.

OD 1. Ch/Ir Ch Summerhaze Shafran among Chadbower (Imp Rus) Ir Jch (Mrs M & Mrs B Rollinson & Manners) – Much to like about this boy at 4 yrs, he has plenty of show life. He was smart and alert. He presents a very good outline of a cobby small dog; he had a typical foxy expression, sharp and intelligent. High set, erect ear,s good skull to muzzle ratio’s and the most inquisitive of oval dark eyes. His neck was full and short with a strong set on. His forelegs were straight with ample bone to lovely tight feet; ribs were well sprung to a short loin, his hind angulation was in keeping with a short brisk stride moving true fore and aft. CC BoB 2. Ch Schipdale A Kind of Magic ShCEx (Mr A J & Mrs L A Cheatham) – Smart 6yr full of masculinity. He had a typical head that a broad skull with little stop and well-placed oval eyes. He had a clean bite, his neck was short and full. Well-sprung ribs and muscular topline. His high-set tail complemented the picture. He had a better ear set than 1, although his hind quarters were not as full. 3. Ristine Magical Spice (nbt) (Mrs C A Massey)

SpB 1. Roopec Made for Me (Mrs M L Jones) – At just 13months she has such a lot going for her and pleased me greatly. She was small and cobby as required with a foxy expression short full neck into suitably laid shoulders firm topline, well filled chest and suitably sprung ribs. She was in splendid coat with a good rough and full culottes. She moved with calm confidence.

VB 1. Ch Chadbower Nevaeh Lahetti VW (Mrs B C Manners) – I have admired this girl before, and she is aging well. She is well made with ample bone and muscling throughout. Her topline remains firm, and her ribs are suitably sprung. She is on her toes and willing to please. RCC BV

PB 1. Aura Z Letne at Jatesa (Mrs F Merrion) – This youngster shows lovely promise, with a good overall shape small and cobby. She had a very attractive head and lively expression. Her short full neck fitted neatly into her shoulders and followed a firm topline her hind was full and round with well let down hocks. She should do well in the future.

JrB 1. Miofrey Magical with Ristine (Mrs C A Massey) – A young girl who still needs time to develop and come back into coat. She performed well on the move using her tight feet and muscular hindquarters. 2. Roopec Just One More (Mrs B & Miss L Manners & Scales) – A pretty, feminine girl of nice size and proportions, depth of chest. She stood well for her handler with her tail curled over her back, giving a lovely outline 3. Roopec Made for Me (Mrs M L Jones)

PgB 1. Roopec Keep Up with Me (Mrs B & Miss L Manners & Scales) – Having just gone over the litter sister she was very similar in most respects. She had the correct length to height giving the important cobby outline. She stands naturally once settled on lovely cat feet. On the move she is free and brisk.

OB 1. Chadbower Emilia (Mrs M Rollinson) – Every dog has its day, and today was this girl’s. Her handler was not the best, but once they settled with each other turned it on. She had a short neck with plenty of coat showing mane and frill, her chest was full and depth of ribs filled my eye. She had a short muscular loin topped with a tightly curled tail and round rump. On the move she was clean and precise BCC.
