BSB Salvadorada Her Highness (Miss E Hunter)

I had a lovely day; the welcome was warm from the exhibitors, and my two stewards were very efficient—a couple of comments on the dogs I picked up. Tail set and carriage have not improved. I also found some very upright pasterns, which is a worry. Overall size is creeping up, breed standard reads dogs 58-61cm (23-24ins) Bitches 56-58 (22-23ins). I found some dogs were getting long in the loin, although I was pleased with coats that were in good, clean condition, as was muscle tone. Temperaments were good, some very enthusiastic youngsters, but this is to be expected. Some classes were full of quality, and some dogs were let down by poor handling skills. Ring craft is not just for the dogs to learn, but alsofor the handler. Judge Janet Kay (Kaytian)

Strong, round bone and ample width to his chest, well-sprung ribs with appropriate length of loin. He had width to his thighs and cleanly developed muscles. His black pigmentation is complete and contributes to his bright, lively eyes. His chest is well filled and sufficiently round, bone finished with tight compact feet. His ribs are suitably sprung and reach to his elbows. He had a good length to his loin and moderately angled hind legs, width to his thigh’s smooth muscles of a marathon runner.

1ST - Salvadorada Light It Up for Chizzmic (Miss C A Newton) (L) – Very feminine with a soft, gentle expression. She held her ears framing her head, and her spotting was very even. Her bone was round, and her feet were compact, although her nails could do with a trim. Nicely sprung ribs and length in loin on the move, she reached out and drove well, carrying her tail as an extension of her spine.

2Nd - Sophtspot with Style at Luccombe (Mrs S & Miss S Haywood-Ridgway & Jenkins) (B) – This girl was of similar age but not the ring presence of one. Feminine expression and the blackest of pigmentation throughout. Pleasing length of neck, she needs time to settle to get the best out of her.

3RD - Carodal Camino De Santiago (Ms C Hughes)

Dalmatian - Puppy Bitch

Entries: 8 Absentees: 1

1ST- Mapplewell Queen Bee (Mrs Richardson) (B) – This young lady was very well schooled. She had her attention set on her handler and stood without a foot out of place. Her chest was deep and nicely sprung ribs, I’d like a ta more loin for a girl. Her topline was firm, and her hind angulation was moderate with short hocks. All this came together on the move at a steady pace with driving action. Pipped for best puppy.

3rd - Tolkain Watseka (Miss A Neal)

Dalmatian - Novice Bitch

Entries: 5 Absentees: 2

1ST - Ailsadot Blue Orchid (Mrs C Wallington) (L) This youngster needs time as a minor puppy; she was a little bewildered by the show ring. Saying that she was a lovely, shapely girl with ample, round bone and substance. Her head was feminine with sufficient stop and almost equal proportions from skull to stop and stop to nose. On the move, she was steady and clean, moving out on lovely compact feet. Work to be done, but one for the future.

2ND - Aegaeon Sea of Nectar (Miss E Sak) (L) – 2yr girl who was a little fine in bone for me. She has a pretty head in keeping with her whole appearance. Length of neck into topline was firm, good length of loin that was muscular and flexible.

3RD - Hafwenna Mother of Dragons at Dintradot (Miss F A Burke)

Dalmatian - Graduate Bitch

Entries: 7 Absentees: 0

1ST - Salvadorada Kinky Boots JW (Ms K Wilkins) (L) – This girl needs to lose some puppy roll; she is shapely and well-constructed, but the weight is spoiling her. Feminine head and expression nicely filled chest with depth of ribs, ample round bone to compact feet on the move, she had reach and drive from moderate angulation. Best moving dog in the class.

2ND - Dalstorm Just So Salsa JW (Dr E & Mr W Sampson) (L) Slightly older girl and delightful spotting. Her neck was nicely arched and of ample length into well-laid shoulders. Her legs had round bone and slight spring at pasterns. Her loin was strong and clean, and lovely, round muscles in show condition. Although not on her A game today.

3RD - Dallydyl Odette (Mrs Gina Harris)

Dalmatian - Post Graduate Bitch

Entries: 7 Absentees: 0

1ST - Cubalibre Star Attraction JW (Mrs B Quayle) (L) A lot to like about this young girl, she’s well-constructed with plenty of round, strong bone. Lightly decorated with an appealing feminine expression from hazel eyes, her ears were well-spotted and clearly defined. Long neck with slight arch and a nicely filled chest, to compliment her chest, she had nicely sprung ribs that reached well back to a muscular and flexible loin. Her tail carriage was acceptable on the move as she drove around the ring with animation.

2ND Salvadorada Her Highness (Miss E Hunter) (L) Another shapely girl that needs a little more attention on the stack, as she was often overstretched, which split these girls. She was totally absorbed with her handler, and her expression was kind and gentle. She had the length of neck, spring of ribs, and length in loin. In lovely show condition, toned muscles. She could easily change places.

3RD Dallydyl Odette (Mrs Gina Harris)

Dalmatian - Limit Bitch

Entries: 23 Absentees: 3

1ST Dallydyl Code Breaker JW (Miss M & Mr S Scott-Allen & Davis) (L) this classically shaped girl, with everything in the right place. She was curvy, elegant, and full of femininity. Her expression from dark hazel eyes was full of confidence and understanding. She had correct skull to muzzle proportions with a moderate stop, long flowing neck into well laid shoulders. Her chest was full with well-sprung ribs, her loin strong and clean with a gently rising underline, smooth, rounded muscles not overdone. Her tail was of correct length and carriage. She had a smooth, powerful, easy action and would do a day’s work easily at the trot. I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC. This team has worked hard together.

2ND Carodal Jacobs Ladder (Mrs J & Mr W Tysterman) (L) This girl was very close in age and had many of the same comments. Her decoration was even and well defined, and her expression was outgoing and friendly. Sufficient round bone to slightly better feet and nice spring at pasterns, her chest was deep and well ribbed back. Her tail was set on beautifully and carried as an extension of her spine. RCC

3RD Carodal Coast to Coast (Ms C Hughes)

Dalmatian - Open Bitch

Entries: 11 Absentees: 4

1ST Ch Cubalibre Wishing Star JW (Mrs B Quayle) (L) This Champion girl was a worthy winner of the class, although I preferred the litter sister's outgoing personality. Her head had equal proportions with a moderate stop, her eyes were hazel and complete pigmentation. Her neck had a slight arch and fitted neatly into her shoulders; her topline was firm and held well on the move. Her balance and symmetry showed as she moved around the ring. She was let down by her tail, which she had knocked and held limply.

2ND Ch Dotlun English Rose at Roadcoach (Mrs C C Pickup) (L) Another quality girl. She has a different handler whom gets more out of her, which showed today. She just didn’t have the same animation I have seen in her before. She has the most appealing spotted face with well-decorated ears that contribute to a slightly naughty eye. She is well constructed with ample, round bone. Her muscle tone could be a little better, although she moved well.
