Large Munsterlander
I want to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee for the opportunity to judge Large Munsterlanders at the Leeds Championship Show, where I had the privilege of awarding CCs for the first time. I am also grateful to all the dedicated exhibitors who brought their lovely dogs. It was a lovely entry, and I found myself facing some tough decisions.

This 18-month-old dog has a shapely and well-balanced outline when standing. He possesses a masculine head with appropriate width and rounding to the back skull, showing strength in his muzzle and a beautiful, dark eye. His strong, muscular neck flows into a firm, level topline with a well-set tail. While he still needs to develop more in the body, he shows sufficient depth in the brisket. He is a little loose in his movement both fore and aft, but he displays a lovely drive overall. Best Special Beginner
2nd: 5581 CROOK, Miss Georgina Echobase Shining Star
At just 6 months and a few days old, this young bitch is already showing early potential. Although she's still developing her confidence, her overall shape is lovely, and she’s clearly progressing in the right direction. She has a beautiful, feminine head with excellent proportions and a kind dark eye. Her neck is a good length, seamlessly flowing into a firm, level topline. Her chest extends down to the elbow, and the spring in her ribcage is nicely sprung. Once she settles, she moves out with a confident and impressive stride.

There is much to admire about this 6-month-old dog, he displays himself with confidence and enthusiasm. When standing, he presents a lovely outline. While he still has some development to complete, he has all the essential qualities. His expression is very appealing, intelligent, with a hint of mischief. He has a good length of neck and is well developed in the front for his age, with a nice fill in the forechest and well angulated forequarters that harmonise with his rear. He stands on strong, well-boned limbs and has neat feet. He maintains a level topline with a nice spring to his ribcage, although I would prefer a slightly better tail set. He moves out purposefully. Pleased to award him BPD & BPIB.

These two dogs could easily swap places, as they both possess some lovely qualities.

This three-year-old dog boasts an impressive silhouette when standing, exhibiting a strong, muscular build that speaks to his workmanlike nature. He has a masculine head with good length and strength, a little more depth to the flews, large open nostrils, and a kind expression. He is now maturing in his body, showing a firm topline and good depth to the brisket. He stands on well-boned limbs and has neat feet. Balanced angulation fore and aft. While moving, he maintains his outline and firm topline, displaying good tail carriage and strong drive from the rear.
2nd: 5602 UHERKOVICHOVA, Miss Edita Ulys Du Pic Des Berlanches Avec Exelby (Imp) Fra
I appreciated this 2-year-old's overall build and size, he is masculine without being overdone. He has a lovely head that is well-balanced and proportionate, with a slight rounding to the back skull, high-set ears, strength in the muzzle, and a gentle expression from his dark eyes. He maintains a firm, level topline, with good depth in the brisket. I would prefer a little more width in the thighs and bend in the stifle to complete the picture. He moved out with drive and showed clean front action, although he tends to be a bit proud of his tail

Impressive three-year-old dog that exudes strength, substance, and a workmanlike demeanour. He has a handsome head with pleasing proportions and a gentle expression. His neck and topline flow nicely, with slightly higher withers and a firm topline. The chest extends down to the elbow and has a good fill in the forechest. He stands on well-boned limbs with tight feet. His angulation is harmonious both in the front and rear, with a good width in the thighs. He moves with drive and exhibits excellent foot placement. One I considered for top honours.

This lovely four-year-old dog has an impressive outline, showcasing a shapely yet functional silhouette that flows seamlessly from nose to tail. He possesses a quality head that is both handsome and appealing, balanced with a melting expression from his dark eyes. While he has a good length of neck, I would like a fraction more fill-in in the forechest. His chest reaches down to the elbows and maintains a firm, level topline both when standing and moving. His strong hindquarters enable him to drive around the ring with an impressive, ground-covering action, at one with his handler. He was certainly in the running for top awards.
2nd: 5592 LOGIE, Miss Erin & BRAIDWOOD, Mrs Fiona Sh Ch Graf Iii Vom Busshof At Albadhu (Imp) Deu
This is a smart 2-year-old dog. I appreciated his overall size, shape, and masculinity. He has lovely substance throughout while still retaining a workmanlike agility. His head is appealing and well-proportioned, featuring a good width in the backskull, high-set ears, and dark, inquisitive eyes. He has a good-length neck and a well-filled forechest with straight, well boned forelegs onto tight feet. However, today he appeared a little soft in his topline, which affected the overall picture. I like his hindquarters, which have a good width of thigh, but he didn't quite have the drive compared to the winner today.

This 8-year-old dog looked truly impressive on the stack, showing a masculine and robust appearance with a touch of male elegance. He carried himself with confidence and purpose. He has a handsome head, slight rounding of the back of the skull, with strength and length in the muzzle and dark, intelligent eyes. His strong, clean neck flows into a firm, level topline, which he maintains both while standing and in motion. He stands on straight, well-boned limbs and is well-developed throughout the body, featuring a well-defined forechest and good depth to the brisket. His strong, wide, muscular quarters have a good bend of stifle. He is a free and positive mover and is beautifully presented. Delighted to award him the DCC & BOS & BV, and he was a close contender for BOB.
2nd: 5593 MACGREGOR, Mrs Fiona & MACGREGOR, Mr John & MACGRE Sh Ch Ekkolander Snowstorm
Wow! This dog, at a sprightly 9 years old, is looking fantastic, a true credit to his owners. He has a different build compared to the winner, with a slightly lighter frame, but still retains a masculine appearance. His head features good length and a slight rise from the muzzle to the back skull, along with kind eyes that give him a gentle expression. He has a clean, straight front with good width, although he doesn’t quite have the fill-in that the winner does. There is good depth to his brisket and a good spring to his ribcage, he maintains a firm topline at all times. His rear is strong, displaying a good bend of the stifle and a low-set hock. On the move, he truly shines, he is light on his feet and demonstrates excellent reach and drive in profile. Delighted to award him RDCC

Strikingly marked, confident, and outgoing 8-month-old bitch. She is very self-assured and carries herself like a seasoned pro! As expected at her age, she just needs some time to grow into herself and mature. She has a balanced head with a good length of muzzle, large open nostrils, and a kind dark eye. Her neck is of decent length, flowing into a well-held topline, and she has a good tail carriage. She is nicely developed in the forechest and brisket for her age, standing on straight, well-boned forelegs. Her hindquarters are moderate, with nice short hocks. Overall, she is a steady and tidy mover. - BPB

This exuberant two-year-old bitch is full of energy and playfulness. When relaxed and cooperative, she displays a lovely outline. She has a feminine head with good overall balance and proportions, complemented by high-set ears that frame her face and a dark, mischievous eye. Her strong neck leads into a firm topline, and she has a well-set, enthusiastically used tail. There is good depth to her brisket and a decent fill-in of her forechest. She has wide quarters and a nice sweep of the stifle. In this class, she was reasonably collected while moving, demonstrating good drive, but in later classes, her movement became a bit erratic.
2nd: 5585 FLETCHER, Miss Jodie Xarosun Wild At
strikingly marked litter sister to the winner has a similar outline, though she is not quite as developed in body at this stage. She presents a pleasing outline when stacked, with good body proportions. Her feminine head is nicely balanced and features a sweet expression. While her neck is good in length, she does not quite have as much of a filled in front as her sister's. Her brisket reaches down to the elbow, and she maintains a firm topline. She has well-boned limbs and lovely, tight feet. In profile, she exhibits ground-covering action and demonstrates good foot placement.

This 18-month-old bitch made a positive impression on me during her initial run. She exhibits a lovely, free-flowing side gait and possesses an elegant yet workmanlike poise. She is well-proportioned, and she shows good overall balance when standing, contributing to a pleasing silhouette. Her head is feminine while also exhibiting strength in the foreface, complemented by a dark, kind eye. She has a good length of neck and a firm, level topline that leads to a well-set tail. Although she is still in the process of maturing through her body, it is during movement that she truly shines, demonstrating positivity, accuracy, and a wonderful harmony with her handler.

I was taken by the overall appearance of this bitch, who is approaching six years of age. She is larger in build, with excellent substance and bone, yet she is not overdone, instead, she is very feminine and carries an air of elegance. She is functional and workmanlike, looking as though she could work all day. She has a lovely, long head with good proportions, a slightly rounded back skull, and dark eyes set beneath expressive eyebrows. Her strong, muscular neck flows seamlessly into a well-structured front assembly. She possesses depth in the brisket and width in the front, with ribs extending back, a slightly longer loin. Her hindquarters are broad in the thighs with a correct bend of stifle, which harmonises well with her front angulation. She moves effortlessly, demonstrating positive footfall and a ground-covering action. I was delighted to award her BCC & BOB
2nd: 5607 WILKINS, Miss Victoria Sh Ch Quilesta Simply Exquisite
I was impressed by the outline of this 6-year-old bitch. While she differs in type from the winner, she has a beautiful flow to her silhouette. She is very feminine, yet possesses the desired strength. Her head is lovely, well-proportioned and balanced, showing an adoring expression in her dark eyes as she connects with her handler. She has a good length of neck that leads to well-constructed forequarters. There is excellent fill-in of her forechest and depth to the brisket, complemented by a good spring to her ribcage. Her hindquarters are correct and well-toned. In profile, she displayed good reach and drive, although her rear movement was slightly untidy today. She was well presented and handled, and I was pleased to award her RBCC.

This 9 ½-year-old bitch is fit as a fiddle, displaying lovely musculature and a strong rapport with her handler. When stacked, she exhibits good body proportions and a well-balanced appearance. She has a pleasing head with gentle, dark eyes that convey a kind expression. Although I would prefer a slightly longer neck, she is well developed throughout her body, featuring a good forechest and a well-let-down brisket. She maintains a firm and level topline both when standing and moving, with a lovely spring to her ribcage. Her quarters are strong, with low-set hocks. She is a powerful mover, showing both reach and drive.
2nd: 5604 WARD, Mrs Heather Joyce Sh Ch Braccpoint Song Of The Wind For Gemlorien
This lovely bitch is approaching 8 years of age, and I admire her overall outline and body structure. She is very feminine and elegant while still having enough substance to present a balanced appearance. Her head is feminine, long, and lean, featuring a kind dark eye and high-set ears. She has a good length of neck that flows into her firm topline, along with a well-set and carried tail. Her chest is well let down, and she has a good spring to her ribs, which are carried well back. The angulation of her front and rear is harmonious. She displays a lovely, free-flowing side gait, but she was not as quite as tidy while moving, both coming and going today.
