Welsh Springer Spaniels
I would like to express my gratitude to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge the Welsh Springer Spaniels at your show. I was truly impressed by the quality of the exhibits. Thank you to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of your wonderful dogs and your patience and good humour in the downpours! The inclement weather may have affected some of the dogs today, which will have influenced the placings.

1ST 6554 - Kamunting’s Danny Zuko (Mrs B Hepworth)
Delightful 7-month-old dog is both mischievous and charming, enjoying himself in the ring but giving his handler a bit of a challenge! I loved his happy-go-lucky, outgoing nature. As expected for his age, he is still quite raw, but he has all the basics in place. His head is well-proportioned, with a good length of neck and sufficient depth for his age. While he could be a bit difficult to assess on the move, he displays a good side gait once he settles down.

1ST 6553 - Glenbrows Turn Back Time (Mr T D & Mrs H L Harrison)
This is a very stylish and well-developed 10-month-old dog. He is a quality, shapely puppy that shows a lot of promise. He is an eye-catching young dog with plenty of substance and bone, who confidently presents himself. He has a pleasing masculine head with a nice skull shape, dark eyes, and good pigmentation. His neck is a good length, flowing into a firm topline. He is well-developed throughout his body with moderate hindquarters. I was delighted to award him BPD, although he was ultimately outperformed by his sister in the challenge, preferring her front movement today, but could easily change places.
2ND 6533 - Lenamore Renegade (ai) (Miss P & Mr R Burchmore & Bowd)
I liked the overall shape and size of this 9-month-old dog. Not the bone or substance of the winner, but nicely balanced. His head is well-proportioned, featuring a good length to the foreface, and dark eyes that give him a soft and gentle expression. He has a good length of neck that flows into a well-maintained topline, both when standing and on the move. His chest is well-let down with a decent forechest. I appreciated his side gait on the move, although he was a fraction close behind today.

2ND 6547 - Nyliram Born This Way JW (Mrs J Graham)
This 17-month-old dog has much to admire. He presents a lovely, balanced outline when standing and is full of quality. I found his head to be very handsome, well proportioned and shapely, nicely chiselled with a kind dark eye. He has a strong neck of good length, and his brisket is well let down with adequate fill in the forechest. His ribs are carried well back to strong, hammy quarters, and his tail is well set and used. Although he was not as settled in his movement today, I still thought he was a very smart young dog.

1ST 6544 - Gilstonia Run Red Rum for Aprilflash (Miss C J & Mr I Gaylor & Robertson)
This dog is happy and outgoing, who was placed third in the junior class, all the dogs were worthy exhibits and could easily switch places. I found him to be nicely balanced and proportionate, without anything being overdone. He has an appealing head with a good length to the foreface, clean flews, and dark, expressive eyes. His neck is of good length and flows smoothly into a well-held topline. Although he is still developing through the body, he is just a young dog and stands on strong, well-boned limbs with tight feet. He moves nicely, tended to carry his tail a fraction higher today and moves slightly close behind, but I loved his flowing action in profile.

1ST 6573 - Jacranella Guardian (ai) (Mrs J R & Mr C Sutherland)
An honest and well-proportioned 2-year-old dog who impresses with his overall outline. I liked his size and substance, as well as his lovely body lines, which create a nice flow from his nose to his tail. He has a masculine head with good proportions and a good length of neck that flows into a firm, well-held topline and a nicely set and carried tail. He is well-developed throughout his body, showing good substance and bone. His strong and muscular hindquarters are effectively used as he moves around the ring, in harmony with his handler. He is presented in excellent coat and condition.
2ND 6530 - Jacranella Galahad of Cherryheath (ai) JW (Miss S Barkley)
This dog is a litter brother to the winner, he is from a slightly stronger mould all through. Loved his excellent temperament and nature. His masculinity is unmistakable, as he has strength without being overdone. He has a kind expression, a lovely length of neck, and his brisket is well developed with good fill in the forechest. His ribcage is also well carried back. He is a bit more moderate in angulation both fore and aft. He shows a happy and purposeful movement. He is well presented and well handled.

1ST 6548 - Glenbrows Amadeus JW (Mr T D & Mrs H L Harrison)
A very smart 2-year-old dog who looked stunning on the stack. He stands firmly, showing lovely balance and body lines. He possesses strength throughout, along with a masculine elegance that gives him a shapely silhouette. His head is appealing and masculine but not overdone, with good proportions and kind, dark eyes. He has a good length of neck that flows into a well kept topline. He displays good depth in the brisket and carries his ribs well back. Standing on well-boned limbs with tight feet. I particularly admired his muscular hammy quarters, which have a good width of thigh and nicely bent stifles. He was beautifully presented, with a coat in full bloom. His precise and powerful movement ultimately earned him the RDCC
2ND 6542 - Santallina Off and Running JW (Mr I & Mrs D K Douglas)
This is another impressive two-year-old who presents a pleasing outline when standing. He is very balanced and proportionate, and I liked his overall size, substance, and masculinity. He has a pleasing head with a slightly rounded skull, well-set ears, and a dark eye that gives him a gentle and loving expression. He has a good reach of neck, leading into a firm topline when standing. While he has depth to his brisket, not quite the forechest of the winner, but he is nicely ribbed. His hindquarters are strong, wide, and well-toned. He is tidy on the move and well-presented.

1ST 6561 - Sh Ch Ferndel Water Mark (ai) (Mr A Marrella)
This stylish three-year-old dog is truly eye-catching and exudes quality. He has a beautiful flow from nose to tail and carries himself with confidence and flair. His head is handsome, displaying such a soft and gentle expression typical of the breed. He has a clean neck of good length that flows into a strong, well-held topline. His body is well-developed, with good depth and ribbing. He stands firmly on strong, well-boned limbs. What truly sets him apart is his movement; it’s a joy to watch. He is sound and true from every angle, and gliding around the ring while maintaining his outline and foot placement is perfect. I was delighted to award him the DCC and BOB
2ND 6541 - Chanangel Yorkshire Gold to Santallina (Mr I & Mrs D K Douglas)
Mature 6-year-old dog who presented himself very well today. He is sturdy, with a lovely bone structure and substance, but in no way coarse. His outline flows beautifully, and he is well put together. He has a handsome head and a gentle expression from his dark eyes. His neck is clean and of good length, and he possesses a lovely forechest with a well-developed brisket. He stands on well-boned limbs and has tight feet. His hindquarters are strong and hammy, showing good width in the thighs. He moves positively and with confidence. In consideration for top honours.

1ST 6559 - Islanza Hey Dude (Mrs S & Mr B R Leach)
This 6-year-old dog has a lovely flowing outline and displays nice type and good proportions, creating a balanced appearance. He has an appealing head with a slight rounding of the back skull and strength in the foreface, complemented by chiselling below his dark eyes, which gives him a kind and gentle expression. His reachy neck leads to a firm, well-held topline. He is well-developed throughout his body with harmonious angulation. However, he didn't seem to like the heavy rain, as he wasn't showing himself off on the move as well as I believe he could.

1ST 6552 - Glenbrows Timeless (Mr T D & Mrs H L Harrison)
I was impressed by this lovely 10-month-old bitch. She is very feminine and elegant, yet has enough bone and substance for her age. She had to compete against tough competition from her kennel mates for top honours. She has a well-proportioned feminine head, which still needs to finish developing, but it has a lovely shape and proportions. Her neck is a good length, flowing into a firm topline, and her tail is well set, and well used! Her hindquarters are nicely angulated, and her hocks are set low. Today for me, she moved the best among her siblings demonstrating drive and clean action in front while maintaining her outline. However, things could be ‘all change’ next week. I was delighted to award her BPIB.
2ND 6534 - Fascinellie Serendipity (Miss S Ceriati)
This 11-month-old bitch shows a fun-loving personality and has commendable qualities, she is of a different type than the winner. Her compact build is complemented by a good leg length, contributing to her overall balance. She has a well-proportioned head that demonstrates feminine strength, along with a gentle dark eye. Her strong, nicely arched neck adds to her appeal, and her well-developed body features a chest that extends down to the elbow, and a well-filled in front. She maintains a firm topline. Her strong and wide quarters provide good drive in profile, today she carried her tail a little higher

1ST 6551 - Glenbrows Time Will Tell (Mr T D & Mrs H L Harrison)
This puppy is a litter sister to the winner of the puppy bitch class, and she is another lovely youngster. I appreciated her overall appearance, size, and balance. She has a feminine head, dark eyes, and her ears nicely frame her face. She possesses a clean neck of good length, a firm topline, and a deep brisket. She stands on well-boned limbs with tight feet. While she showed lovely width behind when moving away, and showed drive, in the puppy challenge she didn't seem as settled today, as her sister, which ultimately cost her the BPB. One to watch for the future.
2ND 6536 - Chanangel White Rose (Mrs A Chandler)
There is much to admire in this very feminine, 16-month-old bitch, who presents a different type compared to the winner. She has a more compact outline and a good length of leg. Her head is delightful, very feminine and pretty, nicely moulded, good chiselling, and dark, soulful eyes. There is a good length of neck that flows into a firm topline, with ample depth and spring to the ribcage and corresponding angulation both fore and aft. She presents herself well on the move, with a happy demeanour, a fraction loose in front today but demonstrated good drive.

This 15-month-old bitch exhibits a lovely poise and a shapely outline. She is a pleasing combination of femininity and strength, showing harmonious proportions. Her head is unmistakably feminine, featuring a soft and adoring expression. She has a long, clean neck that flows into a firm topline. Her body is developing nicely, and she has strong, wide hindquarters that provide her with power when moving, still to tighten a fraction in front. She shares a wonderful rapport with her handler.
2ND 6540 - Gilstonia Maggie May (Mrs G & Mrs Y Cooper & Mullin)
This 15-month-old bitch previously placed third in the junior class. While she is not yet as polished as the winner, time will benefit her development. She has a lovely head with a gentle rounding of the back skull, well-placed ears that frame her face, and a kind, dark eye. Her neck is a good length, and she is well-developed in the front with straight, well-boned forelegs. I appreciated her depth of chest, which reaches down to the elbow, and she has a nice spring to her ribs, she is slightly longer in the loin. Liked her strong, wide hindquarters. She moved purposefully, but today her topline was a little soft.

Her neck is a good length, and she is well-developed through the body, featuring a firm topline and a ribcage that extends well back. She stands on well-boned limbs with lovely tight feet. Her wide, strong quarters provide her with good drive while moving, a little untidy in front today. She is presented in a beautiful coat and condition.

This two-year-old bitch is impressive, displaying a beautiful outline when standing and showing quality and breed type. She has a typical outline, is sound in her construction, and is a pleasure to go over. Her smooth, flowing lines and proportionate body make her hard to ignore. She has an unmistakably feminine head with a gentle expression and a clean, strong neck that flows into her well-maintained topline. She possesses good bone and substance, along with a well-developed body. Her strong, well-muscled hindquarters allow her to move powerfully around the ring in profile. Not quite as clean in front today, her rear action is lovely, showing width and parallel. As always from this kennel, she was shown in superb condition and immaculately presented. I was pleased to award her the RBCC, and was delighted to learn that she already wears her crown—congratulations!

Very smart 6-year-old bitch, so very feminine with an appealing outline. Her head is attractive, balanced, and proportionate, featuring a dark eye, well-placed ears, and a nicely chiselled that gives her a lovely typical, gentle expression. She has a lengthy neck that flows into a firm topline and a strong loin. As she moves around the ring, she effectively uses her quarters to drive forward. Moving slightly wider in front today, but she maintains a lovely outline when viewed in profile. She is well handled and presented.

1ST 6546 - Sh Ch Nyliram Telling Tales JW ShCEx OSW (Mr T Graham)
I was impressed by the appealing outline of this 4-year-old bitch, she looked balanced and unexaggerated. She exuded quality and caught the eye with her harmonious symmetry and flowing lines, all presented in full bloom. I found her to be strong and sturdy while also beautifully elegant, showing both strength and femininity. Her head is distinctly feminine, nicely moulded and chiselled, featuring a dark eye with a soft expression. She is well-constructed through her body, with a lovely forechest, depth to the brisket, and good spring to her ribcage. She maintains a good topline leading to a well-set-on tail, which she uses effectively. Her movement is full of enthusiasm and style, displaying a lovely outline. Although she was a fraction closer behind today, she still moved with power and drive. She is in excellent coat and condition. I was delighted to award her BCC & BOS
2ND 6565 - Sarabande Dancing Queen at Slapestones JW (ai) (Mr A, Mrs T C & Miss D T Ritchie)
Quality bitch, just shy of 4 years old, is truly in her prime. I liked her type, style, and impressive substance and bone. When stood, she exudes balance and is well proportioned. Her feminine head has pleasing roundness to the skull, accompanied by the right amount of strength to the foreface and a kind eye. Her neck boasts good length, flowing seamlessly into a strong topline and a well-set tail. She is beautifully constructed throughout, showing good depth and spring in her ribcage. With strength in her loin and hindquarters, along with wide, muscular thighs, she demonstrates excellent footfall and maintains her outline effortlessly while moving. Although she seemed to lack that extra sparkle in the final challenge for top awards

She is such a happy and outgoing girl, blissfully unaware that she is now a veteran at 7 years of age! She looks great, with a lovely combination of strength, substance, and femininity. Her head is well-balanced and proportionate, featuring the right amount of stop and nicely chiselled. She has the most adoring look for her handler, conveyed through her dark, soulful eyes. Her neck is a good length, seamlessly flowing into her topline. She is solidly built throughout, with ample depth and substance. It is a pleasure to watch her move, as she displays enthusiasm and joy. I was delighted to award her BVIB, and later watched her grace the big ring to win Veteran Group 3. Huge congratulations!
2ND 6539 - Isfryn Lady Grey of Gilstonia (Mrs G Cooper)
It was a close decision between these two lovely veterans, both of whom are commendable and great ambassadors for the breed. This 8-year-old bitch exhibits a lovely outline when standing; she is very balanced and unexaggerated. Her delightful head and expression, combined with a touch of grey, only add to her appeal. Demonstrating both intelligence and beauty, she was also shown in the Good Citizen class. She is well-developed through the body, with a firm topline and a well-set tail. Her angulation is moderate both fore and aft. She maintains her outline while moving, although she was a little close behind today, still showing good drive.
