Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Of Great Britain
RRCGB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 28th September 2025
Judge:– Ms. Jackie Parker (Azuli)
Thank you to the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain for giving me the privilege of judging at your prestigious show. My gratitude to my very capable and competent stewards Toni Agnew and Jenny Vincent, for looking after me and keeping the ring running smoothly all day.
The biggest thanks go to the competitors for trusting me with their top-quality hounds leaving me difficult decisions and splitting hairs.
When judging I have considered the whole dog, taking into account where there are faults, the degree and impact and where the individual excelled within the requirements of the standard and overall soundness.
I have critiqued on why those in the cards were place and where they excelled. Soundness in construction, movement and temperament being paramount.
I was very impressed by the standard of movement in both dogs and bitches making the challenge.
Temperaments without exception were outstanding.

1st Storey & Piehl’s Kiromol Ain’t Misbehavin. 4 months and beautifully balanced, already standing correctly, over all four legs. Best of shoulders, return of upper arm and matching rear angulation. Moved a dream with a confident, even profile gait. True on the away and back. Sympathetically handled. BBPIS
Minor Puppy Dog - (0 – 0 absent)
Puppy Dog - (1 – 0 absent)
1st Doughty’s Rubiltra Farshirovannaya. Well balanced outline, with good height to length ratio. Nice lay of shoulder and well let down in hock. Deep brisket, allowing plenty of heart and lung room, supported on steady, level top line which was held well on the move. Still to tighten up in front but plenty of time for that. Good, even profile action and tracking up well. BPD, RBPIS
Junior Dog – (3 – 0 absent) Quite often a challenging age to judge with different rates of physical development and focus often on anything other than what they are asked to do. That said I was presented with three different but all quality young dogs.
1st Pearse’s Kinyemi Song of Serengeti Sepiwi Sekayi for Msingi JW (Imp Dnk). Well developed, upstanding 14 month, red wheaten. Pleasing head with deep muzzle, broad, flat scull, correctly set ears and keen, handsome expression. Crested neck with great reach. Well bodied and ribbed back to strong loin. Correct fill in front and legs straight to the ground. Nice lay of shoulder, muscular thigh and well let down in hock. Steady, effortless stride. Top mover in an excellent class.
2nd Hurn’s Kwanza El Faiyum at Matikiridge (Imp Nld). Beautiful, balanced profile with super lay of shoulder to return of upper arm. Level topline. Deep brisket and well ribbed back. Difficult to settle him on the move but saw enough to earn him his place.
3rd Maidment’s Amahle Wolfric The Wanderer
Yearling Dog – (4 – 0 absent)
1st Geeves Kiromol Knight of the Realm. Very mature, well developed, muscular and fit 19-month, wheaten dog. So very well balanced in outline with the best of shoulder and return of upper arm, to matching hind angulation. Together with a steady, driving movement gave him this class.
2nd Catharell’s Kinabula’s Making Magick for Faahac. Close up to 1. but lost out on maturity. Super lay of shoulder, well flexed pasterns on nice tight feet. Best of expressions with a large, round, dark eye. Great movement just needs to settle on the away and back, which on a second go, he did.
3rd Jolly’s Priorpark William Wallace for Clanbruachan JW
Graduate Dog – (2 – 0 absent)
1st Catharell’s Kinabula’s Making Magick for Faahac (as above)
2nd Edwards’ Rubiltra Gunna Be Striking. Super red wheaten, breed standard size, 2yo dog. Handsome head type. Plenty of bone giving strong, well let down in hock. This together with a well held top line gave excellent, true movement on the away and back.

Good bone, nice deep brisket and strong loin, supported on strong, level top line. Well let down in hock giving him plenty of drive on the move. At 27 months he still has so much more to come.
2nd Dennis’ Priorpark Pragmatist. Of great type. Nice moderate head, with no coarseness. Good reach of neck, steady topline. Well sprung pasterns producing a light easy gait. Moved well on the away and back. Still needs to tighten up and would look even better for losing a bit of weight.

Minor Limit Dog – (2 – 0 absent)
