I would like to thank the committee of Blackpool for inviting me to judge at this very successful show, I had good entries in the breeds I was judging and two of my Best of Breeds where well placed in their respective groups The Newfoundland being first in the working group and the Norwich Terrier placing second in the Terrier Group. I wish I had got the name of my steward because after many years of showing, judging and stewarding myself, I have no hesitation in saying that she is the best steward I have ever come across and she saved my life on the day!

Norwich Terrier

JD(2)1

1st. Miss A Webster’s Brancova’s Mr MCthistle.

A 14 month old red and he has a masculine head and a strong muzzle, dark eyes and well set ears, neck of the correct length, correct front and rear angulation, coat in good condition and of the correct texture. He was a little uncooperative today, but his movement was sound and true, I am sure he has a promising future, pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog and Best Junior today.

OD(3)1

1st. Mrs C S Thompson-Morgan & Mrs J R Lazenby’s Tinkave Vibe Setter At Belleville.

An 18 month old red and a quality example of the breed, showing the correct balanced outline without exaggeration, a masculine head and muzzle of the correct proportions, ears well set on, dark eyes and the correct bite. Strong neck well laid shoulders and a deep chest and the correct spring of rib. He has short back and level topline, strong rear quarters and a coat of the correct texture, very pleased to award him BOB today and see him being placed 2nd in the Terrier group. Thrilled to find out that he has previously been winning well and was placed first in a recent Terrier Group at a General Championship Show.

JB(5)1

1st. Mr P & Mr P Harper & Gray’s A Summer Symphony Played By Grayharps.

A 12 month old red, a little naughty today and a challenge for her hander, initially not holding her tail or ears up and I think is lacking confidence, she did eventually move well and raised her tail and ears. Overall, she shows the correct type but just needs some more ring training and confidence.

PG(1)

1st. Mr P & Mr P Harper & Gray’s Ragus Love To Party With Grayharps.

A 2 year old B/T another one that needs some ring training, and her movement was very erratic. She has some correct breed points and a head and muzzle of the correct proportions, dark eyes and the correct bite.

LB(1)

1st. Mr P & Mr P Harper & Gray’s Ragus Cloudy Dawn.

A 3 year old red showing the correct type but another one that needs some ring training, head and muzzle of the correct type, dark eyes and the correct bite, level back, well laid shoulders and rear quarters, her movement was sound and true but very erratic and difficult to assess. RBB.

OB(2)1

1st. Miss S A & Mrs D S Bell’s Dorinor Royal Maid.

A 2 ½ year red, showing the correct type for the breed, balanced and in proportion, I thought she was a little wide in front, head and muzzle of the correct proportions, dark eyes and the correct bite. Well laid shoulders, short back and a level topline, deep chest, strong rear quarters and she moved soundly, Best Bitch.
