Welsh Springer Spaniel Club

Many thanks to the officers and committee of the Welsh springer spaniel club for the very kind invitation to judge the special awards. I thoroughly enjoyed my entry and thank all the exhibitors for their trust in me. It was a well-run show and I was very grateful for the hospitality shown to me. I wish the club well.

Special Junior Dog or Bitch

1 Gilstona Run Red Rum for Aprilflash 17 month old male. Quality dog who is well balanced through. Good length of head which is well proportioned and nicely chiselled. Nice dark eye. Leathers are placed well and are of correct size. Pleasing through the neck and shoulder. Enough breath to his front. Good bone and feet. Well ribbed. Not overdone behind and with well-muscled hindquarters. Moved well with drive from the rear. In good jacket. A little more finished than the second placed bitch.2. Glenbrows Timeless. Quality bitch who deserved her place in this well filled class. She is quite lovely for type. Her overall shape is ideal, and she has the correct top line and tail set. Pleasing head and expression although I feel that she is yet to finish here, and will be a lovely bitch when more mature. Has an excellent front assembly. Best of hind quarters with lovely angulation, in no way overdone, well let down hocks. Needs a little more fill in the front which hopefully will come with maturity. Moved very soundly 3. Special Post Graduate Dog or Bitch

1 Glenbrows Thought to Amberdella. This bitch instantly appealed to me when I first surveyed the class. She is well balanced through. On closer inspection I was pleased by her headpiece which is of correct proportions and has a beautiful expression. Good ear set and size. Correct length of neck into a well-constructed forehand. Well off the bone and nice compact foot. Good spring of rib. Muscular loin. Nicely angulated rear. Moved with good reach in front although is a fraction close behind if you are being hypercritical. Excellent coat of correct texture. Red is of an excellent rich depth. Wouldn’t want her any bigger2. Nyliram Just Dance With Cwrtafon. Quality bitch. Presents a lovely outline. Very typical head with correct proportions, is feminine without being weak. Good neck and shoulder. Well off the bone although could have better feet Nicely made throughout. In good hard condition. Special Open Dog or Bitch

1 Sh Ch Nyliram Telling Tales. This bitch is quite lovely for overall size, type, and soundness. She has a lovely head which is very typical. Lovely dark eye. Correct slight dome to her skull but not overdone. Enough stop. Well set leathers. Pleased through the neck which is of adequate length and clean. Relatively compact body with good spring of rib with strong muscular loin. Correct tail set. Good hind angulation and moved well.2. Sh Ch Bowdonia Truly Scrumptious. Another with a very pleasing head and expression. Overall is very well constructed with good angulation both front and rear. Of good bone with lovely compact foot. Very typical action on the move. Sound in all directions. Just a fraction narrower than the winner. Wouldn’t want any more wave to her coat but coat is more than acceptable. A nice bitch.3. Sh Ch Renascent Bleaberry at Slapestones (Imp USA). Completed a trio of quality WSS bitches.
