Norfolk Terrier

A nice entry in terms of number quality and condition. Thank you. On a very positive note, I found no incorrect bites and generally tail carriage is improved. Most were in good hard condition. Quite a few however had smaller teeth than ideal, and it is important to watch this in a terrier or we will end up with small improper muzzle size. Bitches were far better than males today.

Special Beginners Dog. 1. Littlemount Celyn Y Mor. Red. Not a small boy but very nicely made through. Pleasing head with a quality head piece with nice breadth through his skull and good strong muzzle with plenty of underjaw and of correct length. Pleasing dark, keen eye. Well boned. For me I would like more length to his neck to balance him a fraction better. Good solid topline with the best of rib. Real cobby male. Well set tail of good thickness and carried well. Nice hind angulation. Moved well. His excellent jacket so well put down and in good muscle tone.

Minor Puppy Dog 1. Kinsridge Cookie Monster. Really smart black and tan. This is a most promising puppy and immediately impressed me for his overall balance and deportment. On closer inspection he has a very good head with good breadth of skull and correct skull to muzzle proportions. Lovely dark oval eye and neat ears complete the overall expression. Super front assembly with a good length of upper arm. Short enough and well set and carried tail. Has super rib. Not overdone in the rear. Moved very well indeed. Could do with a little less coat on him to show off his correct shape. BP. 2. Kinsridge Smart Cookie With Jacquidon. Litter brother to 1 but quite different in type. Much to like about him with a good head with correct eye and ear. Good length of neck. Nice bone and good round foot. Another that is well ribbed. A little longer cast than 1 and a fraction shorter in upper arm but still with well laid shoulder. Enough behind the tail. In excellent harsh jacket. A nice prospect.

Puppy Dog 1. Watercroft Goldfinch. I have admired this young red dog from ringside. He is a very smart young male. Typical head with a lovely dark eye and neat ears well set. Good length of neck into good shoulders. Well-made front. Good bone and neat feet. He has a very good spring of rib and is compact as is required. Well angulated rear. In good jacket. Moved well in both directions. I had thought he would figure highly in my challenge, however he was on a different handler and in sight of his kennel mate and didn’t settle into his job which was a shame. Should do well with maturity as he was in contention for high honours. 2. Layhefields Great Ridge By Belleville. Different to 1. This young male has the most pleasing well-proportioned head and super expression. Beautiful eye. Well furnished head. Excellent bone and the best of feet. Would like a fraction more upper arm if I am being hypercritical. Well ribbed and well ribbed back. Solid topline if a little longer cast than 1. Super hind quarters. Moved with drive and lovely on side profile. Good harsh jacket. I can see these quality dogs swapping paces on other occasions. 3. Javidel Repeat If I May

Junior Dog 1. Watercroft Easy Tiger. Alone. I must admit to not have been his greatest admirer ringside. Red dog who has the very best of harsh jackets. He has a very good head with correct breadth of skull, correct stop, keen eye and strength of muzzle. His head is well furnished. His ears are for my preference too big and this does detract somewhat. He has appeared to me stuffy through the neck, but this is mostly coat and he does have adequate neck length for his size and balance. Excels in rib. Decent width in front and super bone and feet. He is cobby and short. Topline is level. Tail set is correct. Good rear which is well muscled up and used on the move. He put on a faultless performance at the right time and although pushed hard by the RCC winner and his young kennel mate was pleased to award him the CC.

Post Graduate Dog. Not the easiest of decisions. 1. Jaeva Raising Hell. B/T. Not a big dog and could do with a fraction more all over. Won here on his typey head and expression. Good neck into well placed shoulders. His is lovely and short and has a good tail set. In a good well put down jacket. Moved well. 2. Jaeva Party Boy. Quality Norfolk, longer cast than I prefer. Pleasing breadth of skull and well placed eye. Neat ear. Would prefer a slightly shorter length of muzzle. Good strength of underjaw. Good spring of rib. Well angulated rear. Moved well.

Limit Dog 1. Watercroft Cosmic Dust. Decent dog who needs to be gone over to appreciate his virtues. Good typical head of correct proportions and with no signs of weakness. Good length of neck and the best of shoulders. Appears before examination to be not so tight at the elbow stood or on the move and could do with some judicious trimming here. Well ribbed. Level topline and plenty behind the tail. Moved well. 2. Jaeva Strut Your Stuff. He is a nice dog who I have liked from ringside. He has a really lovely head and best of keen well shaped dark eyes. Neat well-set ears. He is well made through with no major fault. He is a little straighter in the rear than 1 and was not in his best jackets today. 3. Littlemount Celyn Y Mor

Open Dog 1. Belleville Wordsmith. Now mature this red dog is a pleasure to handle. I have liked him from ringside since I first saw him. To me he is exactly the right size for an adult Norfolk male. There is nothing toy like about him which I feel is important and small twee dogs are becoming more common place. I just loved his head and expression. He has a lovely keen oval eye. He has good breadth to his skull and has a neat pair of ears. Not the shortest dog in this class but overall, his proportions are appealed. Super hind quarters which are well muscled. Well let down hock. Moved with drive. Close up to the CC winner in the challenge and gave me plenty of thought. In the end I just preferred the shoulder placement on my winner. However, I do hope this dog attains his title he is very deserving. 2. Watercroft Moon Dust. Full of type. Good head with nice expression. Good pair of ears although could have used them more to advantage today. Nice for the neck and shoulder. Well ribbed. I just preferred the overall size and the length of leg of the winner. 3. Javidel May You Never

Special Beginners Bitch 1. Littlemount Lili. Smart young bitch. Is of good breed type. Good had an expression. Nicely made through. Enough of her. Well ribbed. Short in loin and plenty behind the tail. Move soundly.2. Macdiarmada Alderfen. Feminine bitch. Pretty head although her ears are not a fortune. Lovely eye of good shape and nice tight rims. Good front. Not overdone in the rear. Moved well. Not in the best of jackets.

Minor Puppy Bitch 1. Kinsridge Petty Cash. I liked this young lady who appealed in overall type and quality. Lovely head and best of ears which are of correct size and well set. Well constructed rear. Decent rib. Excels for bone and with good feet. Well angulated rear. Moved well. 2. Rambles Ruby At Jaeva Naf Taf. A well known deep red who is in the best of harsh jackets and well put down. I think this young bitch will excel with age. At the moment for me she just needs to break in skull. Lovely eye although would prefer a smaller ear. Good rib and short in the loin. Strong hind quarters. Moved with drive. Well handled. 3. Kenberlynn Chance To Dream

Puppy Bitch. 1. Kinsridge Fortune Cookie. This bitch is really something smart and very gassy to boot! Full of herself which endears me to a puppy. Little sister to Cookie Monster and very similar in type. Super head and expression, totally feminine but without losing any element of strength. Good strong muzzle and underjaw. Keen eye. Neat ear. Pleased me through the neck and shoulder. Super rib and so cobby which placed her over the others in this class. Super short. Already has a well muscled and well angulated rear. Moved so very soundly. Well handled in the challenge despite being with a different handler. RCC in good company. Despite her RCC I couldn’t resist her brother for BP. 2. Watercroft Showboat. A quality red who is still very raw. Good head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Level topline and good underline. Not as short or as well ribbed as 1. In a better tighter coat than the winner. Nice rear. Moved ok. 3. Heilurihannan Burning Question With Jaeva (imp Fin)

Junior Bitch. What a lovely class to judge. The first three are all potential winners for the future. Probably the best class of the day. 1. Belleville Counting Stars. Has the best of heads. Very feminine but without giving away strength and quality. Beautiful eye. Very good neck which is strong and of correct medium length. The best of shoulders. Well ribbed, and well ribbed back, short coupled with good strong loin. Neat round feet. Good bone. Plenty behind the tail which many lack. Moved with drive. If I am to be a fraction hypercritical picks up just a little more than I prefer in front, but I forgave this for her other qualities. Close up for the RCC. 2. Villassa Quest For A Kiss. Unlucky to meet 1 in such good form. Another with super head and expression. So very typical. Well made through. Super jacket and in good hard condition. A fraction longer cast than 1. Lovely hind quarters. Just not using her tail at that crucial moment. Sound as a pound on the move. 3. Brickin One For You

Post Graduate Bitch 1. Watercroft Tiger Lilly. Pleased me with her overall silhouette and style. Nice for size. For me a little more strength through the head would be ideal. Nice dark eye. Decent ear size and carriage. Good shoulders. In good body. Correct topline. Decent rib. Correct tail set. Moved well. 2. Watercroft Maybellene At Tamodan. Quality red who is in the hardest of condition. Many of the qualities of 1 apply here. Pleasing head with good width and correct skull to muzzle ratio. Nice eye. If I were a little critical, I would like a little more strength in underjaw. Well made with good front and well angled rear which is not overdone. Good topline and tail set. Moved well. Needs a better jacket. 3. Belleville Sky Full Of Stars

Limit Bitch. 1. Wielenshoeve Time Will Tell At Jaeva (deu Imp) Taf B/T. Noce overall shape and pleasing size for a bitch. Good head proportions with correct breadth across her skull. Neat ears. Short and cobby. Well angulated rear. Best of tails and tail sets. In a great harsh jacket which is well worked. Nice extension in the front but a fraction close in the rear.2. Villassa All The Way. Typey bitch. Quality head although a little less depth of stop would be ideal. Good dark eye. Nice ears. Good rib. Good bone and feet. Short and level. For me a fraction wide in the front, but well proportioned rear which she uses well. In A1 condition.

Open Bitch. Three very different bitches. 1. Kinsridge Takes The Biscuit. Quality red bitch who immediately impressed for overall type and style. This bitch is of decent size and substance but is still very much feminine. Very typical in head she has good breadth of skull and neat well-set ears. Lovely dark eye of exactly the correct shape. Correct stop and her overall skull to muzzle proportions are as required. Nice length of neck into well placed shoulders secondary to sufficient upper arm. Good bone and neat feet. Short enough. Well ribbed in terms of both spring and overall length. Short coupled. Good hind quarters. Moved well. In good harsh jacket, of which there could be less of, for personal preference. I thought her quite lovely and very much to type. CC and BOB. I was told that this made her up, congratulations. 2. Ch Watercroft Back in A Jiffy. Black and Tan. Has many attributes including her overall shape and shortness of back. Head of good proportions with dark eye and is well furnished. Correct ear set. Just preferred the overall expression of 1. Decent neck and good shoulder and well let down in the front. Good bone for a bitch. To be critical for me she could have a fraction more length of leg to proportion her better. In good jacket which is well put down. Moved with good reach although moving a little wide in the rear today. 3. Belleville Firestar
