1st: JENNINGS, Mr D & BEDDING, Miss H Alibama That's My Boy - RCC/Best Puppy in Breed.

Buff, just coming up to eight months old. As he is yet to come into full coat there is nothing to hide his construction. He is beautifully balanced throughout, stacked and on the move. Chiselled head with well defined stop and broad muzzle, without any hint of coarseness. Good depth of chest. Short body with slightly sloping topline. I would prefer a slightly lower tail carriage however it is correctly set and not carried so high as to impact his outline on the move. Despite his age I had no hesitation in awarding him the reserve CC and Best Puppy and was delighted to see him subsequently win the Puppy Group.

1st: COSTELLO, Mr J Ultimate Black Jaclee Knight (imp Fra)

Black. Masculine, yet pleasing expression although I would prefer a slightly shorter muzzle for balance. Well proportioned, with good reach of neck and correct tailset. He was hanging his head slightly which caused his topline to flatten however when settled he moved with drive.

1st: REED, Miss P & REED, Miss S-M Furian's Morning Star

Black. Broader head than 2nd but has an appealing expression nonetheless. Deep chest, well-ribbed. I preferred his overall balance. A little too enthusiastic on the move at first, he settled into himself. On the day he lacked the drive of the main winners.

2nd: EDWARDS, Mrs B Moonmist I Spy Wilbur

Beautifully marked black/tan with the most attractive head as one would expect from this breeding. Straighter in front than the winner resulting in an exaggerated topline stacked. Not as sound on the move, particularly his rear action on the final run.

1st: HARRIS, Mr W Sh Ch Zarcrest After Blend - CC/BOB

Striking parti-colour. As with the puppy winner, he has the most beautiful head and expression whilst still masculine. Immaculately presented and did not disappoint going over him. Well-bodied, with deep chest. Lovely reach of neck. Short-backed with gentle sloping topline which remained when standing freely. Moved with desired reach and drive which was lacking in other exhibits. Congratulations on winning the Champion Stakes later in the day.

2nd: BEDDING, Miss Hannah & JENNINGS, Mr D Sh Ch Alibama Knockout JW

Another beautifully marked black/tan, with one of the nicest heads of that colour I can recall seeing in the ring for some time. In excellent condition throughout. He was not covering the ground as well as today’s winner and was another who was inclined to drop his head and lose his topline.

Black/tan. Somewhat apprehensive of her surroundings, I was pleased to see her confidence improve however this did impact her outline on the move. Feminine head, muzzle could be broader.

1st: JENNINGS, Mr D & BEDDING, Miss H Alibama She's A Peach RCC

So similar to her litter brother, the same comments apply. There was little to choose between them for Best Puppy however I preferred the dog’s head and he displayed that extra ring presence. A credit to their breeder, their quality could not be denied in the respective challenges.

2nd: SWIGCISKI, Miss Sarah & BRYANT, Mrs B Nasailleen Edge Of Glory At Cosalta

Black. Feminine head, not as rounded as the winner and I would prefer a more pronounced stop and fuller muzzle. However it is in balance with her overall. When she settled she showed impressive side gait although she had a tendency to carry her tail over her back.

1st: JENNINGS, Mr D Alibama Dot To Dot

Black. Played her owner up to begin with but moved out well once settled, driving from the rear. Pretty head, typical of this line, with clean neck and shoulders. Well-ribbed, with short back. Lower tail-set than her kennel mate and I preferred the puppy’s overall outline.

1st: ARCHER, Ms S Zarcrest After Cut For Tallisbay

Black/white. Attractive head although would like a broader muzzle for balance. Covers the ground well however would like to see more animation. Another whose tail carriage distracted on the move.

2nd: BEET, Miss C Jaclee High Society Americlass

1st: FRYER, Mrs C Dreamcast Elysium At Carolco

Black/white with the most beautiful soft expression. First class presentation as always from her owner. Would prefer a slightly longer neck. Moved steadily in the class but stepped up a gear in the challenge where she pushed for the RCC.

1st: DONALDSON, Miss C Ir Sh Ch Chicomy's Rumour Has It (Imp NLD) CJW22 CC

I admired this bitch at Crufts a couple of years ago and was delighted to have the opportunity to judge her. Well proportioned, rounded skull with desired chiselling around eyes. Arched neck leading to short sloping topline and correct tailset which she showed off free-standing. Moved effortlessly around the ring.

2nd: CLAY, Mrs G Cutiepooch Born To Tri Americlass

Well-bodied Tri. She covered the ground well however with a soft topline, which was also evident when stacked. Long topknot made her skull appear broader than it actually is.
