I would like to congratulate the hardworking committee of the Scottish Kennel Club for such an expertly run and organized show. I really enjoyed my assignment and judging the Gundog breeds in the UK is the greatest of honour for an overseas judge. It was a sheer pleasure going over many beautiful dogs and I was delighted with my winners. A big thank goes to the exhibitors for entering their lovely dogs under me and sportingly accepting my decisions. My two ring stewards did a great job during the day and kept me going.

A spectacular dog with everything the standard asks for oozing type and quality. Most appealing strong and broad head with excellent expression, eyes of correct amber colour, smallish ears well set, muscular neck set into good layback of shoulders, excellent chest, great bone, correct hare feet, well bodied with correct spring of rib, very strong topline, powerful well-muscled rear, correct harsh and oily coat, lovely tail, effortless mover showing a correct balance on the move, carrying the right amount of substance and presented to advantage, I had no hesitation awarding him the CC and BOS

 Top quality male shown in excellent muscular condition, Broad and strong head of correct balance, nice ears and eye colour, strong neck and well-muscled forequarters, very good bone and correct feet, well sprung ribs and deep broad chest, strong topline, well turned stifles, correct hocks, very good harsh and oily double coat, moves well, nicely handled

 Masculine veteran who could be in harder condition all over. Nice strong head that could be slightly better balanced, correct expression and eyes, nice neck, good fore and aft, lots of bone, correct feet, nice body. A bit long in loin, correct double harsh coat, could move with more power

 Wow, what a classy female who ticked all the boxes of my ideal of the breed, wonderful head with correct ratio muzzle/skull, Correct smallish ears, lovely amber coloured eyes, correct overall make and shape, powerful neck blending smoothly into the withers, spot on front assembly, the best of legs and feet possible, well knuckled hare feet, well sprung ribs and good depth of brisket, perfect muscular topline, powerful and exceptionally sound rear, as her construction suggested she moved out with reach and drive, correct tail, wonderful harsh double and oily coat, she put on a good performance throughout and could not be denied the top spot and ultimately landed the CC and BOB
