Scottish Kennel Club

I would like to thank the Scottish Kennel Club for inviting me to judge their General Championship Show and the opportunity to award my first set of CCs. The hospitality by all the committee was much appreciated. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for entering under me and taking their placings honorably. I was pleased that my Best Puppy was shortlisted in the group after a very long day waiting for two show groups. Every dog was shown in excellent condition. Unfortunately the loud hall and tannoy unsettled a few dogs on the day. The main point for improvement was tails. Although most were not tight, there is a lack of straight tails, which is something the breed worked hard to correct at one time and shouldn't be forgotten about whilst correcting other faults. No dogs showed any signs of breathing issues and only a few were overweight on the day. I was pleased to hear that both my BOB (and BCC) and DCC flew through their vet checks.

1st Mr M & Mrs J Baker Smoochabull Cyrus The Viruss. 6 mths white and brindle puppy. nice flat skull with rosed ears set wide apart, dark round eye, finely wrinkled, split nose roll and wide nostrils, good upsweep. good length of neck down to tacked on shoulders. Excellent front with good bone and deep brisket. nice tight feet, enough rib for age, topline ok, well muscled hindquarters, moved well once settled in a noisy hall, well handled.

1st Mr R & Mrs V Goodfellow Ronversha's Good Guy. 11 mths red and white puppy. heavier wrinkled head but not overdone. ears set correct and rosed. Eyes dark and clear. open nostrils. Good length of skull with excellent width of foreface. Loved his wide jaw and upsweep. Good length of neck, down to slightly tight front but with excellent bone and tight cat-like feet. Topline was correct and held on the move. Tail ok. Shapely hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moved correct coming ang going. Handled well. Was pleased to award BPIB.

1st Mr A Brosnan Starbornbullies Tony Montana. W/R male aged 16 mths. Mature male with excellent width of skull and foreface and ears correctly rosed and set low. Well-padded cheeks. Nose roll not impeding the nose. One of the best jaws of the day and excellent upsweep. Super bone. Wide front with deep barrel of rib. Correct topline held on the move. Well-muscled shapely hindquarters. Moved well. Shown in excellent condition.
2nd Mr C & Mrs S Evison Kikuchi Yogi Bear. R/W male aged 14 mths. Different type to 1 but still lots to like. Finely wrinkled, excellent clean brick shaped head. Neat, rosed ears. Open nostrils. Enough padding on the cheeks. Lovely expression. Good width of jaw and lovely upsweep giving an excellent sour expression. Nice length of neck down to tacked on shoulders. Good bone and neat tight feet. Deep wide brisket. Good barrel of rib. Nice balanced youngster who moved well coming and going. Preferred maturity of 1st but promising puppy.

1st Miss D Gilmour Sandars Mr Rubble. W/R male. Medium sized male. Large ears set wide apart on a flat skull. Clean head with fine wrinkle. Lovely dark round eyes. Well padded cheeks. Open nostrils. Wide jaw and excellent upsweep. Tacked on shoulders with enough brisket. Good bone to tight feet. Excellent barrel of rib. Topline ok. Straight hindquarters. Sound in movement coming and going. Handled well.

LD 9/1 Best class of the day. First 3 could have had top honours on the day.
1st Miss A George Avaword Tonto. Excellent R/W male who I have previously judged and awarded BPIB to and was pleased to see how he has continued to mature well. Large skull, with enough wrinkle but not overdone. Ears rosed and set wide apart. Dark clear eyes. Good length of skull and well-padded cheeks. Good width of foreface. Nostrils open. Reach of neck was good down to well-muscled tacked on shoulders. Deep wide front with excellent bone to catlike feet. Topline had the correct roach, which was held when he gaited around the ring, good tuck up with shapely hindquarters. Movement was correct both coming and going and was handled well. I was pleased to award this dog his DCC which I was later informed was his 3rd and crowning title. He passed the vet check with flying colours.
2nd S & P J Peebles and Kirkwood Weebullz Parabellum JW, R/W male similar in type to 1. Excellent head qualities, Ears set low and wide apart. The right amount of wrinkle. Wide open nostrils. Eyes dark and clear. Excellent length of skull, well padded cheeks. Lovely upsweep with a wide jaw. A good length of neck down to tacked on shoulders. Well off for bone and neat tight feet. Correct tacked on shoulders. A deep brisket and good barrel of ribs. From the side the dog has a stunning outline with the correct topline and tuck up. Strong hindquarters with good turn of stifle. He held his shape on the move. Moved well around the ring and walked his width correctly with rear movement sound. Handled well and pushed 1. hard for the win. Just preferred slightly more length of leg of 1 and would have liked a little more weight on the day. Deserved his RCC.

1st Mr S & Mrs D Lowthian Haddaway The Boss for Tynamite, Br/W large male with lots of substance. Lovely width of skull with rose ears set low. Finely wrinkled. Dark eye. Open nostrils. Excellent width of foreface. Fantastic wide jaw with a deep upsweep. Strong front with excellent depth of brisket. Well off for bone. Neat tight feet. Huge rib. Little long in loin. Correct topline held on the move, strong muscled rear. Moved very well and was correct coming and going. Well handled.
2nd Mrs L Handley Ch Haddaway Hey Bulldog. Br/W male. Another strong male. Fantastic strong head. Excellent width and length of skull – classic brick shaped head. Wonderful pigment. Well-padded cheeks. Open nose. Another excellent wide jaw and upturn. Good length of neck down to tacked on shoulders. A lovely square front with deep brisket. Great substance. Well ribbed. Correct rise in topline. Well-muscled rear with excellent tail. Super movement. Pushed hard but personally preferred profile of 1 for win. Well handled.

Good front with tacked on shoulders, excellent bone. Correct topline and good tail. Moved like a youngster round the ring.

Finely wrinkled. Open nostrils. Dark clear eyes. Ears correctly rosed. Good length of neck down to tacked on shoulders. Good depth of brisket. Enough bone to tight feet. Well sprung ribs. Correct topline and good angulated hindquarters. Moved and handled well.
2nd Miss J Mcconaghy Melafella Miss Behave at Bahooke, 8 mths W/R, another feminine youngster with good width and length of skull. Ears correctly placed. Well fitted jaw with good upsweep. Nice expression. Good reach of neck. Deep chest. Finely boned and nice tight feet. Topline ok but little bum high due to age. Moved well coming and going.

Lovely expression. Well-padded cheeks. Excellent width of jaw with a good upsweep. A little tight in elbow. Excellent bone. Good depth of chest. Correct topline held on the move. Excellent shaped hindquarters. Moved well, Handled well. Was pleased to award BPB.
2nd Mr A R & Mrs C L Bannister Andlare Fine and Dandy, 10 mths R/W female similar to 1. Good width and length of skull. Finely wrinkled head with excellent expression. Open nostrils. Dark clear eyes. Excellent wide jaw and deep upsweep. Tacked on shoulders. Enough bone to neat feet. Good spring of rib. Topline ok. Moved excellent coming and going. Well handled. Preferred maturity of 1.

1st Mr A Brosnan Starbornbullies Amazing Grace, flashy R/W bitch who caught my eye on entering the ring. So much to like about her. She has a lovely wide flat skull with low set rosed ears. A small nose rope. Small nose with wide open nostrils. The darkest clear eyes. A wide true jaw with excellent upsweep. Would like a little more length of skull. Good reach of neck, to tacked on shoulders. Well off for bone and tight feet. Well sprung ribs and short in body. Excellent topline to good tail and well-muscled hindquarters. She looked good from all angles. Moved and handled well. Was pleased to award her RBCC.
2nd Mrs Lamb Ms Eire Junior at Kayldemb, a Br/W bitch who was giving her handler some fun today! Wide skull with low set rose ears. Good expression. Lovely clear dark eyes. Enough wrinkle. Good width of foreface, would like a little more length. Jaw ok with good upsweep. Tacked on shoulders. Enough bone. Enough spring of rib. Good topline. Longer in loin. Tail ok. Moved correct coming and going once settled.

1st Miss A & Mr J George & Coburn Avaword Gwenno, strong w/r female. nice flat wide skull, well placed ears, dark clear eye. Good width of foreface. Excellent width of jaw, Broad shoulders with nice straight front, excellent bone, and neat feet, would like a little more length of leg. Enough reach of neck to good topline, strong rear angulation, good tail. moved and handled well.
2nd Mrs TJ Mayes Blenheimstar Royal Flush at Pectus, different type to 1. Compact R/W feminine bitch. Neat head properties with dark mask. Small neat rose ears set low and wide apart, Dark eyes, good layback, would like a bit more length of foreface. Nice wide jaw with excellent upsweep. Good reach of neck down to tacked on shoulders. A little bit too much weight on her on the day. Good topline. Well-muscled hindquarters. Decent front. Well ribbed. Just a bit moderate in hind action. Moved correct coming and going. Well handled.

Good width of chest with deep brisket, correct topline, nice free tail, well let down hocks, moved soundly both ways, well handled
2nd Mrs TJ Mayes Ragmarte Daiquiri at Pectus, neat R/W feminine girl, lovely expression, ears set low and correctly rosed on a flat skull, excellent layback, dark eyes, finely wrinkled, wide open nostrils, fantastic wide well fitted jaw with good upsweep, enough bone, wide chest, tight feet, tacked on shoulders, good barrel of rib, correct topline held on the move, tail free from body, moved and handled well

1st Mr AR & Mrs CL Bannister Ch Andlare If's and But's, a girl I have admired for a long time ringside and was pleased to get my hands on her. She commands your attention. Shown in the cleanest condition, a bright white strong but feminine bitch. Lovely brick shaped head with flat skull and enough wrinkle. Neat, rosed ears spaced wide apart. Dark clear round eyes and open nostrils on a nose set back not impeding on the lovely layback she has. Wide true jaw with fantastic upsweep. A lovely expression. Enough neck to tacked on broad shoulders. Excellent straight bone. Tight feet. Excellent width of chest with deep brisket. Topline was correct and she held it when she moved. Good tuck up. Strong, well-muscled hindquarters, hocks well let down. Tail was free. She moved correct with ease around the ring. Just wished she was mine. Well handled. Couldn’t give her anything less than BCC and then pleased to award BOB.
2nd Mr Mi Stabile Euro/it/fr Ch Guendalina Di Casa Salenta, A lovely W/Br feminine compact female, Excellent width of skull, would like more length. Finely wrinkled with open nostrils and dark eyes with good width between them. A super wide jaw with excellent upsweep. Good length of neck to tacked on shoulders. Enough bone. Good width of chest. Well sprung ribs and correct topline. Short in loin. Well-muscled rear. Moved and handled excellent.

1st Mrs G & Mr D Westmorland Gailbulls Cleo A Jazz Singer. A super girl almost 13 years and still enjoying the ring. Very feminine with a flat and wide skull, ears are rose shaped and correctly placed, still has a nice dark eye set well apart, big nose with open nostrils, lovely square front with tacked on shoulders, ample bone down to tight feet, enough neck leading to a correct topline and well-ribbed. Enjoyed watching her move around the ring with ease. BVIB
