Gundog Breeds Association Of Scotland

Breed: Retriever (Chesapeake Bay)

My sincere gratitude to the committee of the Gundog Breeds Association Of Scotland for inviting me to judge Chesapeake Bay Retrievers at their well organised show. Thank you to my ring steward for organising the ring and many thanks to the exhibitors for showing their lovely dogs to me. It was a nice atmosphere and I appreciated your sportsmanship. Warm regards, Hans Stigt The Netherlands Class 228 PD/B (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 482 MAHON-HUNNS, Mrs Madeleine V & MIDDLETON, Ms Joy & Susqudilla Yankee Shadow (imp Usa). This 9 months old Ches looks the part in my opinion. He is already well developed for his young age and has a striking appearance. Well proportioned and strong. He has a lovely head, round and broad in skull, excellent length of muzzle, which is strong. Correct scissor bite. Medium stop, dark eye, medium size gave him a soft but intelligent expression. Muscled neck and excellent topline, very typical. Lovely forechest and well sprung ribs. Well boned with strong pasterns and good sized strong feet. Very well angulated in his front. For perfection I would like to see a tat more angulation in the rear. Excellent thick coat quality, enough oily with a wooly undercoat. Correct tail and tail carriage. His temperament is free and confident. He moved with drive from behind, parallel with excellent ground coverage. A young dog with so much quality that I could not refuse to reward him Best Dog and Best Of Breed. Class 229 JD/B NO ENTRIES Class 230 PGD/B (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 486 WATTS, Miss Kirsty Oakmarsh Little Acorn JW. A lovely 23 month old female. Full of quality and breed type. Feminine but strong, excellent size and proportions. Excellent shape of head, good length of muzzle, correct scissor bite. Excellent expression of an amber colour medium sized eye. Correct ears, well set on. Correct medium length of neck with nice front assembly. Good forechest and enough developed in ribcage. Well bone and correct shaped feet with strong pasterns. Excellent topline, back and loins strong, correct croup and tailset. Slight tuck up. Well angulated in front and rear. She has a lovely temperament, focused on her handler. Moved with no restrictions, excellent drive from behind, free and effortless. Correct coat quality. Happy to reward her Best Bitch of the day. 2nd: 480 HUNTLY, Mr Paul J Gingerfox Curlew. 3 years old masculine dog with a lot of breed quality. Super head, very typical, broad in skull, slightly rounded with a medium stop. Strong muzzle, correct dentition. Excellent expression of a good eye. He has enough length of neck, which is strong and muscular. Very typical topline. I would prefer a less steep croup. He has a lot of hind angulation and he needs a bit more angulation in front to balance it all out. Lovely hare shaped feet and excellent bone. Elbows could be a bit closer fitting. Ribs need a bit more time to develop. Temperament is correct and free. Excellent oily coat quality. Moved with drive but gait could be a bit more coordinated. Class 231 OD/B (6 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 477 BOYLES, Mrs T & BOYLES, Mr G Sh Ch Pixiesrock Mr Tumnus By Bleyos JW. 3 years old masculine dog. Excellent strong bone, strong pasterns and feet. Correct frond and hind angulations. Movement powerful enough with good drive. His coat is thick, oily with a good undercoat. Lovely dog, rewarded Reserve Best Dog. 2nd: 481 MAHON-HUNNS, Mrs Madeleine V & HUNNS, Mr J & NEWTO Sh Ch Arnac Bay Huron At Bergelle JW. Lovely 7 years old dog, masculine and in super condition.
