The Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show 16th August 2025 Newfoundland Also for this wonderful invitation I would like to give my sincere gratitude to the committee of The Welsh Kennel Club. The Newfoundland is a breed also close to my heart and I found it an honour and a great pleasure to judge, go over and enjoy them at this fantastic championship show. Thank you again to my ring stewards for keeping the ring running smoothly. There were lots of dogs in total to judge from 3 different breeds on the day. Of course also a huge thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over their high quality dogs. I was impressed by the quality of these gentle giants. I do like to point out to the exhibitors that please bear in mind that strong elements in mouths are still important especially when the dogs are still in their prime. It was a pleasure to see so many noble, majestic looking specimens with no exaggerations. Thank you so much for your sportsmanship and accepting my decisions. Veteran Dog (1,0) 1st 4198 Downing’s Northpier’s Non Ducor Duco (Imp USA) 71⁄2 years white & black dog of excellent type, big size but good proportions. Well balanced and in an excellent condition. Head broad, rather defined in stop, deep and broad in muzzle, dark eye, noble expression. Excellent bone, enough deep in brisket, well rounded large feet. Enough angulation in front, well angulated in the rear. Moved with drive, correct coming and going. Excellent coat condition, nice flat and dense with correct markings. Correct, thick tail. Nice temperament and well presented. Minor Puppy Dog (2,1) 1st 4190 Blake’s Sandbears Magnum Opus. 8 months old cheeky chappy with a very promising quality about him. Lovely type, masculine. For his age correctly broad in head, well shaped crown, deep stop. Excellent dark eye, deep in muzzle with a correct bite. Lovely neck and straight strong topline. Compact in body, correct in croup. Ribs well developed for his age. Enough forechest and deep in chest. Flanks deep. Excellent bone, strong pasterns. I loved his temperament and he moved well with drive and nicely parallel. As expected a little loose but I am sure he will develop well in movement and body. Correct coat texture. Puppy Dog No entries Junior Dog (1,0) 1st 4208 Jenkins & Slaughter’s Pure Love Kazko Slupski With Mirawaters. 13 months old black boy with great proportions and a very nice outline. Very correct in size. Already a good substance and nice flowing lines about him Excellent strong neck of good length. Well laid back shoulders. Super level topline going into nicely rounded croup. Strong and broad in loins. Nice underline. Excellent dark eye, nice noble expression, correct dentition. Nicely developed in chest, reaching till the elbows. Well boned, strong pasterns and well rounded strong feet. Well angulated front and rear. Beautiful coat condition, thick tail nicely carried. Moved freely with a good reach and drive.

Yearling Dog No entries Novice Dog No entries Post Graduate Dog (3,2) 1st 4220 Watson’s Newfangled Don’t You Dare At Cacodom. Almost 3 years masculine dog with excellent quality throughout. Deep muzzle, square, enough broad. Soft lips, correct dentition. Nice head and good expression. Correct eye colour and nicely shaped eye. Clean neck and strong topline going into a nice rounded croup. Correct and nice bone, pasterns strong enough, well rounded large tight feet. Good in angulations providing him with a free movement with a slight role. Moved with enough power and not narrow behind. Excellent double coat with lovely tail. Nice temperament. Later he was rewarded Best Special Beginners. Limit Dog (3,1) 1st 4210 Owles’ Zentaur Fizzical Therapy. 4 years old, beautiful majestic dog, in his prime, medium size. Such a lovely masculine chap with the right proportions and outline. Very appealing head, broad in skull, correct crown. Correct in stop and nice square muzzle. He looked at me with a noble expression. Showed a correct bite. His neck, topline and croup were strong and he has wonderful flowing lines over his body. Compact in ribs, well developed. Excellent forechest, which was broad. Super bone and strong pasterns and feet. A sound mover provided by the right angulations front and rear with an excellent black double coat and correct tail giving him this strong and noble appearance I was looking for. A strong contender and I was honoured to reward him the RCC. 2nd 4192 Canning & Rennison’s Oukaya Forever Ursa Minor (Imp Fra). 2 years and 4 months white & black masculine dog of excellent size but needed for me to be a fraction more powerful. Very nice broad head, full of nobility and correct proportions. Deep muzzle, square. Excellent stop and a nice dark eye. Strong in neck and topline, rounded in croup. I would prefer a bit more angulation in front and rear, which could give him that extra power on the move. Excellent bone and rounded feet. Correct in ribcage. Lovely double coat and super tail. Very nice temperament. Open Dog (6,0) 1st 4204 Godden’s Ch Zentaur Bout That Jam. This 4 years old chocolate brown bear ticked all my boxes today. I just found him so well balanced, impressed me with his strength and his gentle majestic outline and appearance. No exaggerations whatsoever. Beautiful masculine head, correct deep square muzzle with correct bite. Defined stop, broad skull, nice crown. Lovely eye colour and kind expression. Excellent length of a strong neck going into a level strong topline with rounded croup. Beautiful lines which I was looking for. Excellent broad in ribcage and forechest. Very balanced in exactly the correct and typical angulations. Super coat quality and colour. Well boned, nice rounded strong feet. He did not put a foot wrong for the dog CC and later for Best of Breed. A true Newfoundland that warmed my heart! 2nd 4193 Chapman’s Ch Nandobears You’ll Never Walk Alone (Imp Deu). 3 years old beautiful black gentle giant, full of excellent type, well proportioned, so much breed characteristics to like about him. Powerful square muzzle, correct bite, defined in stop,

broad in skull with a correct crown on him. Kind expression. Superb neck and topline, level standing and on the move. Well boned, correct pasterns and feet. Well developed in his broad ribcage, strong loins and rounded croup. He stands parallel on 2 strong sets of legs with the right angulations. Beautiful black coat and tail set. I loved his temperament, very noble and friendly. Very well handled. A lot to like about this handsome chap! 3rd 4189 Blake’s Ch Sandbears Masterpiece. Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (5,0) 1st 4220 Watson’s Newfangled Don’t You Dare At Cacodom. Seen dog, 1st in Post Graduate Dog and Best Special Beginners. 2nd 4221 Watson’s Newfangled Yes You Did At Cacodom. 20 months old feminine bitch with a nice worthy appearance. Correct size, enough development in body and ribcage. She has a dark eye, giving her a nice noble expression. Unfortunately her bite is not as I would like to have seen them. Deep in a square muzzle, good neck and topline. Enough forechest, well rounded in croup, correct bone. She needs a bit more angulation in the rear. Well boned, correct feet. She has got a beautiful black coat condition and a thick tail, well carried on the move. Covered enough ground on the move. Lovely temperament. 3rd 4212 Petersone’s Starnewf Little Twinkle. Veteran Bitch (2,0) 1st 4202 Farrar’s Ch Disoranto Juliana Blue At Darkpeak (Imp Pol) Jw. 8 years old stunning veteran. A black feminine that caught my eye as she came into the ring. She had a beautiful quality about her. So dignified, noble and well balanced. Beautiful head piece, so well put together, gentle expression. On of the best neck and top lines of the day, beautiful croup. Standing four square on well boned legs with the right angulations. Excellent forechest. Moved with purpose and drive, very coordinated. Super black double coat, nice feathering and correct tail. Friendly and docile natured standing in front of me. A contender for the top spots. Happy and honoured to reward her Best Veteran. She just missed out on a placing in the Veteran Working Group later on the day where she definitely also was outstanding in the main ring. 2nd 4194 Coldwell’s Ch Zentaur This Is Jam Hot (Ai) Jw Shcex Osw. A 7 years old brown bitch of high quality who also impressed me. Beautiful bearish appearance, nicely compact and strong standing with well boned legs, strong pasterns and round feet. Strong square muzzle with nice endearing expression, defined stop, broad in skull. Beautiful neck and topline, going into a nice rounded croup. Excellent spring of ribs and broad in loins. Good forechest. Good coat quality. She moved with good reach and drive but her loud breathing bothered me a bit and her tail carriage could be better on the move. Lovely temperament. Minor Puppy Bitch (1,0) 1st 4222 Webb & Harrison’s Green Pearl Very Taylor Made For Barracechi (Imp Fra). 8 months old super puppy. I just loved her and I could not take my eyes off her. She showed me a fantastic very typical movement, just everything so balanced and coordinated. I was very impressed with her. Very feminine excellent head, good proportions, dark eye, gentle expression. Super neck and topline. She was sound standing and on the move. Well boned for her young age but nothing overdone. Correct feet. Well developed in ribcage, good croup. Still a bit in puppy coat but an excellent texture and good tail. Good tempered, well handled. Super quality! I foresee a bright

future for her. Well deserved Best Puppy in breed. Puppy Bitch No entries Junior Bitch (4,1) 1st 4209 McDonald’s Sandbears Dreams And Wishes. 15 months and what a beautiful appearance. I was deeply impressed by her balance and outline. She oozes all over quality all. So very typical in neck and topline, lovely rounded croup. Well boned, correct in pasterns and feet. A beautiful feminine head, correct proportions, square deep, broad muzzle, a noble expression. Correct bite. She has a good forechest, broad and deep in chest, excellent underline, correctly broad in loins. She is well angulated in front so it is easy for her to handle the drive from behind on the move holding a level strong topline. Effortless power are the best words to describe her movement. Nothing overdone, just strength combined with a hint of elegance covered with a super black double coat made me reward her a well deserved RCC. I am sure many top spots will follow. 2nd 4201 Duff’s Titanbears Requiem. Also a super exciting 15 months old bitch full of quality, power and nobility. Very feminine but strong. Super head piece. Strong square muzzle and lovely dark eye. Broad in skull, correct crown. I loved her whole outline, well muscled neck, level topline and excellent croup placement. She has nice flowing lines about her. Standing on 4 strong well boned legs and feet. Very balanced and coordinated movement. Enough developed in ribcage and compact in body. Excellent black coat condition and nice temperament. Lovely thick tail carried a little high. No doubt she will do very well in the coming future. 3rd 4217 Richards’ Bears Of The Kingdom Xabrina Sheridel (Imp Bel). Yearling Bitch (3,1) 1st 4201 Duff’s Titanbears Requiem. Seen bitch, 2nd in Junior Bitch. 2nd 4215 Popple’s Mileoak Wishing On A Star Jw. 21 months old very nice black bitch. A bit elegant in appearance but excellent quality. Feminine head with a beautiful dark eye giving her a kind expression. Correct size head, good well placed ears, strong muzzle, good bite. Very nice neck and topline, level going into a rounded croup. Well boned, correct rounded feet. She is well balanced with correct angulations in front and rear. Her chest needs to develop a little more reaching her elbows and flanks could be a bit deeper. Beautiful coat condition and thick tail, which she carries nicely on the move. She moved freely, with power and well coordinated. Nice temperament. Novice Bitch (3,0) 1st 4221 Watson’s Newfangled Yes You Did At Cacodom. Seen bitch, 2nd in Special Beginners. 2nd 4217 Richards’ Bears Of The Kingdom Xabrina Sheridel (Imp Bel). 12 months old correct bitch, nice height to her, but still very young in head. Very feminine, but good proportions in head. Square deep muzzle, excellent dentition, dark eye, kind expression. Could be a bit more fluent in neck and topline, correct in croup. Enough forechest. For her age enough bone on her and strong enough feet. Excellent coat condition and tail carriage. Moved well with good drive. Still young, had enough time to develop and is going the right way. Lovely temperament. 3rd 4212 Petersone’s Starnewf Little Twinkle.

Post Graduate (2,1) 1st 4201 Duff’s Titanbears Requiem. Seen bitch, 2nd in Junior, 1st in Yearling. Limit Bitch (2,0) 1st 4197 Davis’ Sasquatch Dream Your Dreams. 2 years old nice bitch, excellent quality. Very typical with a beautiful head. A nice black, well developed in body with a strong neck. Well muscled, strong topline and enough rounded in croup. She has excellent dark correct shaped eyes with a noble expression. Medium bone, excellent rounded feet and strong pasterns. Well developed and deep in chest. Enough forechest. Moved well with correct drive from behind. Nice broad in front but a bit narrow behind on the move and tail carriage could be better. Excellent black coat condition. Good in temperament. 2nd 4219 Sepp’s Valleybears Proud Mary. 6 years old brown bitch of very good quality. I prefer her to have a bit cleaner and more noble in head and eyes. Deep and very square in muzzle. Broad in skull, good stop. Enough length of neck, correct in topline. Deep in chest. Excellent bone, well shaped strong feet and she moved well with good drive provided by correct angulations. Well constructed. Lovely coat condition and very sweet temperament. Open Bitch (5,0) 1st 4214 Popple’s Mileoak Loch Noir Shcex. Almost 5 years old beautiful black noble feminine lady, full of quality and the type I like. She made a strong majestic appearance presented in full bloom. Very nice square and deep in muzzle, no exaggerations. A feminine and strong head piece. Clean dark eye, kind noble expression. Excellent small ears, lying close to her head. Correct dentition. I loved her flowing lines over her, strong neck going into a level topline and rounded croup. Compact in body, well sprung ribs and a good forechest. Super bone, standing on four strong legs with correct feet and the best strong pasterns. She was wearing her best double coat, super in condition and on the move a beautiful tail carriage. Moved with power, covered the correct amount of ground, nice parallel movement showing a great temperament. She delivered on all elements so, by far, a well deserved BCC. 2nd 4203 Farrar’s Ch Darkpeak Starlight Express. 3 years old beautiful bitch who has a lot going for her. Super quality, balanced and strong in outline, yet very feminine. Beautiful head piece, strong muzzle, correct dentition. Intelligent eye, nicely shaped and dark. Super neck and topline, lovely rounded in croup, broad in loins and excellent tail set. Tail well carried on the move. Well shaped in ribcage, broad and lots of heart room. Correct forechest, well boned and well angulated, providing her in a coordinated and effortless movement. In super coat condition, which made a very impressive picture standing and on the move. Friendly in temperament. A great contender for the top spots which she undoubtedly will get many times in the future. 3rd 4195 Coldwell’s Twillin Gate Villustrious Among Zentaur (Imp Bel) Jw.
