National Working and Pastoral Breed Championship Show
12th July 2025
I would like to thank the officials and committee for inviting me to complete my 1st CC appointment. I was pleased with the entry I received and would like to thank my exhibitors for entering and attending on one of the hottest days of the year. I quickly decided that due to the heat and time we would be in the ring to do my judging inside as at least then the dogs wouldn’t have to be directly in the sun, and I was pleased to hear most of my exhibits agreed. I was pleased to see some up-and-coming youngsters and find dentition and temperament on the day were all correct. Despite the heat affecting some of the dog’s performance overall I feel they coped well for a large, coated working breed and I could assess what I needed to.
Class 430 LD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Pierpoint’s Chepam Grenadier 20-month-old male who is maturing nicely for his size and age. He is of a larger frame but when stood alert he has a nice square shape. Lovely developing masculine head with a dark oval eye and strong broad muzzle. Coat of good texture for age. When settle he has the correct breed movement with reach and drive and has the best rear movement I have seen on a bouvier in a long time. As a large working breed, they should be slow maturing and this boy is doing exactly as he should, and I was pleased with how he is developing for age. He pushed hard for the RDCC but unfortunately just missed out this time due to immaturity. I am excited to watch him mature and once he has fully developed I believe he will have a bright future.
Class 431 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Nichols’ Ch Nikolaev Malbec 4yr old male not the largest male on the day but he is all masculine and in proportion and shows the breed type of square, strong and compact. Lovely masculine head with strong broad muzzle and correct 3:2 radio. He has a deep chest and well sprung ribs. His coat could be a little harsher but is of good construction despite being in a longer jacket than rest of the exhibits which shows the unkempt breed standard. He has correct breed movement with the right amount of reach and drive and despite the heat moved effortlessly around the ring to win the DCC. Today he just lost out on BOB due to being affected by the heat in this challenge but could easily swap on a different day. DCC & BOS
2nd: Burnett’s Ch Mon Cher Talisman RDCC bigger frame then 1st and personally I’d like him a little shorter in loin to help give a squarer and compact overall image, but he still gives a strong and masculine image. He has good bone as well as depth of chest and sprung rib. Nice shaped and dark eye in a strong clean-cut masculine head. Coat of good construction but could be harsher in texture. Have seen him perform better then today but did manage to assess the movement I needed to see, and he was sound and awarded him RDCC.
Class 432 VD/B (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Brown’s Ch Chepam Xiomara VW lovely old fashioned 9yr old bitch who has a nice square and compact outline. She has a good depth of chest and spring of rib, with a feminine but strong head of correct proportions with a nice shape and dark eye. Coat is of correct structure, but texture isn’t as harsh as I would prefer but this can be forgiven due to her age. As to be expected she was affected by the heat but when settled and moving correctly, she has a nice easy and free movement and is a credit to her owner. BVIB
2nd: Simmons’ Ch Chepam Woronora Sh.CM VW 10yr old bitch of longer frame then 1st nice head with a lovely alert expression which follows into a nice arch of neck. She is well matured with a nice deep chest and spring of rib and muscled hindquarters. She also was affected by the heat but moved with purpose around the ring and is a credit to her owner.
Class 433 SBD/B (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Nethercot’s Rojovie Beatrices Dream 14-month-old bitch who is very much still the baby and this showed mostly on the move as she was didn’t settle into her stride well. Head developing nicely with a nice shape and dark eye. She creates a nice shape when alert and stood correctly as she is short in loin which helps with give her square outline. Coat is of a good texture for her age just needs time overall to mature. BSBIB
Class 435 JB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Dallow’s Usanda Piq Von Quintenstein (imp Deu) lovely 15-month-old bitch who when alert creates a nice outline with a feminine head which is developing nicely. Leading into a good arch of neck for her age she has a nice coat which is of correct structure. When settled on the move she moves free and easily covering the ring. She just needs time to mature into her full potential and is one I will watch in the future as I think she may have a bright one ahead.
2nd: Nethercot’s Rojovie Beatrices Dream
Class 437 LB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Schofield’s Theadora Medusa V. D. Dambaern Hoeve At Theanab (imp) 3yr bitch or larger frame and personally I’d prefer her a little shorter in the leg to make her more square and compact in profile. But she has a lovely developing head with a nice depth of chest and length of neck. Great coat texture and overall length of coat. She had the best muscle of the day and true bouvier movement. When she gets going she has reach and drive and could easily go all day.
2nd: De Boo’s Zhora-viper V.d.vanenblikhoeve NAF 3yr old bitch of longer frame than 1st. She has a nice developing head with a nice dark eye of good shape. She also has a good spring of ribs and length of neck. Coat is of correct structure but would prefer a bit harsher in texture, She has nice side profile movement but just preferred overall movement of 1st.
Class 438 OB (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: Burnett’s Ch Mon Cher Guinevere CW nearly 3 yr old bitch with a good coat texture especially for colour, however I would like a little more length on coat to help with the unkempt breed look. She has a lovely square and compact outline with a good arch of neck which helps contribute to her overall image. She has good bone as well as depth of chest and spring of rib which contributes to her impressive and powerful yet feminine Bouvier imagine. She flowed well around the ring with ease and drive. Despite the heat having an impact her tail was carried gaily but not as gaily as I would have preferred. However for a breed that has spent longer docked then with a full tail this is only one element of this bitch and as per the breed standard it was carried gaily when moving and I couldn’t deny her BCC & BOB
2nd: Nichols’ Nikolaev Anuke 6 ½ yr old bitch with a lovely feminine head of a different type to first. She has correct coat structure and texture but I feel due to coat length, she looked slightly longer than 1st on the stack which overall affected her square shape when looking from afar at profile. She has a good depth of chest and spring of ribs with a nice length of neck. She gives an impressive strong yet feminine image and when settled and moving has correct front and side movement which was still shown despite her being affected by the heat. I was splitting hairs between 1 and 2 and in the end, especially due to the heat which made me limit how much I moved the dogs on the day, with the overall shape on the stack and I believe these two mature quality bitches will change places on different days. RBCC.
