Breed: Japanese Shiba Inu

MPD 1(0)

1. Dunhill-Hall’s Vormund King For A Day. Raw youngster, pleasing head, good eye shape obliquely set, ok ears, tight black lips, moderate neck, still needs to fill out all through as a little narrow at the moment, excellent top-line, moderate rear with low set hocks, compact feet, holds his profile on the move, correct tail set, just needs to develop and fill out, light energetic mover once settled, outgoing temperament, BP.

PD 1(0)

1. Dunhill-Hall’s Vormund Ken Kanekii. Excellent proportions with correct length of leg and body, pleasing head, oblique eye, has definition of stop with some furrow, straight forelegs, good for size, needs to settle in top-line as a little bum high at the minute, moderate rear, sound mover, just loses his outline on the move.

PGD 1(0)

1. Wright’s Chikamichi Go from Hachimantai to Sealandair (imp MNE). Masculine dog, a little plain in head and prefer a smaller and better eye shape, ears set well, skull could be a fraction flatter, straight forelegs, excellent feet, holds his top-line at all times, correct depth of chest, has good arch to his neck, steady mover, would just like to reduce him down in size.

Mixed class to sort out the winner who was best for type.

1. Law’s Tapena Go Giyu Shin. Balanced headpiece, definite defined stop, small well set ears, slightly inclining, good head proportions, tight black lips, a little thick in neck but has some arch to it, firm top-line, correct length of body to leg, in full coat, tight high set tail, in profile I liked his type, just a little untidy up and down, won the class for his type.

2. Wright’s Toshiro Mifune Subarashii to Sealandair (imp POL). Slightly larger framed dog, plain in head and ear set a little too high, good reach of neck, ribs extend well back, feet catlike and well knuckled, correct bone, like 1 holds his top-line, a little out of coat at the minute.

3. Greenwood’s Jarshimar Baz’s Bear.

Like my limit class, a difficult class of different types and sizes to sort out.

1. Jackson/Wright’s Lacsar Tic Tac Tayto (IKC). Very balanced, full of breed type, he is out of coat but his head proportions he had correct ears, flat skull, developed cheeks, straight muzzle which tapers correctly, black tight lips, what I like is he had well made shoulders, straight forelegs, super mover, the way he holds his top-line, high set tail carried well, strong rear quarters, parallel, light free mover, lots to like and ended up as DCC.

2. Roskell’s Phixons Straumann. Like 1 is also out of coat but it is the time of the year and today I had to take that into account to look for overall shape and type over coat which will grow back, masculine head, good cheeks, defined stop, dark expressive eyes obliquely set, arched neck, strong top-line, good ribs of correct shape, low set hocks, high set tight tail, positive mover, just not as fluid in the front as 1 but has good parts to him and is a nice type, RDCC.

3. Dunhill-Hall’s Ch. Vormund Be Startin Somethin.

VB 2(0)

1. Roskell’s Ch. Rahima Queen of Shiba with Afterglow. Correct shape and proportions with good balance, I liked her ear set, she could have a little more cheek but her head proportions are correct, she was an excellent mover, one of the few exhibits with an H front, low set hocks, in lovely condition and deserved RBCC & BV.

2. Greenwood’s Amivike’s Mia Magic at Jarshimar. This lady is unfortunately too overweight which spoilt her shape, movement and outline giving her no neck, she has dark eyes, small ears, tight tail, straight forelegs, low set hocks, she does hold her top-line but she is too broad over the loin and too rounded in rib due to weight.

MPB 2(1)

1. Brennan’s Kaytoni Who’s That Girl. Very raw, feminine female, I liked her head with good breed type to her, correct proportions, small almond shaped dark eyes, ears well set, she is very raw but ideally would like a little more sturdiness to her, she needs to grow, compact feet, holds her top-line, correct leg length, well angled rear with low set hocks but she is a little fine but would like to see her again in 6 months time, nice temperament, in good condition.

JB 1(0)

1. Goppel-Louw’s Awakened Edition Vd Egmato Bjs 24 Hjs 24. Correct head proportions, a little rounded in skull, moderate stop with correct furrow, straight muzzle, excellent eye shape, colour and obliquely set, small ears, well made front with ribs developed and moderate spring, could have more fill in front, moderate neck, like many today out of coat, she is a little plain, I would like more detail to her, steady mover in profile but would like her more active and energetic on the move.

PGB 2(1)

1. Greenwood’s Jarshimar Myer Watashi. Correct size, lovely eyes and expression, has slight furrow, tapered muzzle, strong arched neck, she is out of coat but I would like more developed cheeks on her head, correct ribbing with depth and length, she is a little soft in top-line on the move, tail set is good, ideally would like a little more definition in hock.

LB 2(0)

Two very different type bitches.

1. Armstrong/Roskell’s Rahima In Your Dreams. Would be better with a little weight off her which spoils her outline and top-line and also makes her look shorter on leg, feminine head, correct proportions of head, tight compact feet, nicely made front, she has a high set tail but it is a little too tight for ideal and she does lack that light, brisk energetic movement the breed asks for.

2. Greenwood’s Amivike’s Dezigned for Jarshimar. Eye shape is good, correct muzzle and skull proportions, has slight furrow, tight lips, ideally would like a little more leg length and she is down in pastern which does not help her shape, ribs are fair length, level top-line, low set hocks, she covers the ground on the move, in good condition, has good parts to her but ideally like better proportions.

OB 5(2)

My winner stood out in today’s entry and was more than happy to award her BCC and BOB.

1. Dunhill-Hall’s Ch. Vormund Vivienne Westwood. Absolutely typical head and expression, small well set almond dark eyes, excellent ears, defined stop with flat skull and good furrow, full of breed type, arch to her neck, right amount of leg length to length of back, totally correct H front which many lacked today, her ribs are moderately sprung, a firm top-line, high set tail, correct amount of bone, her feet are absolutely textbook catlike, she was in good coat and well presented as well as being in hard condition, she is sound from all angles and I loved her light, energetic movement moving at just the right place, my easy winner today.

2. Jackson/Wright’s Ir Ch. Lacsar The Real Thing (IKC). This bitch has good qualities to her, I really liked her head shape, oblique eye, she has small ears set well, could have a little more neck being critical and on the move she does lose her top-line, she has a high set tail, muscled loin but ribs could be longer, correct bone for size, preferred the definition of hock on 1, positive mover in profile, has good points but lost out to a top quality example of the breed.

3. Goppel-Louw’s Awakened Edition Vd Egmato Bjs 24 Hjs 24.
